According to the August issue of Teen Vogue, the bag is "about $35"!
Hey , thanks for the price and what a steal:heart:! I can't wait until it's online/ in stores! :D

shopdiary: thanks for the pics! Actually, I was happy to see the other colorblock sweater with peach color on the rack bc I was curious if that one would be more true to the color online, unlike the green one. Looks like it is actually peach! I'm happy. The logo button down looks interesting.

jun3machina: you can see the sweater bag up close really well in the high quality large pics you can download from the Target press section. It's in look 17. Here's the link to where you can download it: http://pressroom.target.com/pr/news/fashion/go-international/srp-download.aspx?id=6944
I would paste the pic here, but it won't let me upload to my photobucket account (must be the pic format, although it does say jpg, oh well). Anyway, you can see the knit bag very well in the full size view of this pic. I love it and can't wait to get it myself! I hope this helps and curious to know what you think of it.

foxychristie - the prices are the same! they are sold out on a few items though so call before you go.

usmarinewife - you're welcome! i think the peach is a little lighter than the photo though. also, the link to the sweater bag does not work.

is this the owl bag that everyone is talking about? looks cute! has anyone seen it in the stores yet? i did not see it in the target "boutique" (heh, it sounds incongruous huh?).

Doesn't work? Hmmm...it's working for me. The instruction page for downloading the picture comes up. You have to right click on the link and "save as" to save it to your computer. Then you can see the large pic. Please let me know if that still doesn't work.

thanks sooooooooooo much usmw!!! karma for you! i love that knit bag! (although i wish it wasn't white....do they have any more colors?) i could totally make that though! hahah i do bag design and knit and that would be totally fun to make with a lil leather and some cool yarn! im going back today and im taking my camera with....i'll see if there's anything new

edit* i'm going to have to spread some rep around first, before i can give you some well deserved karma, babe.

jun: hehe, I'm glad I could be of assistance! Thanks for trying to give me karma - I appreciate it. I don't care so much about getting it or not, it makes me happy to be able to help others out when I can. :D
I'm not sure if the bag comes in white only. I do love it, but understand how it'd be hard to keep clean.
I'd love to see any pics you might get! Nothing new at my Target here (at least the one I went to today). I may check another one out a bit later.

I just thought I'd post this LA Times story about the pop-up shop on Melrose, so you can all read the details on it. Enjoy!^_^

STYLE NOTEBOOK
Target designer? Très chic

By Booth Moore, Times Staff Writer
July 29, 2006

The Target bull's-eye has come to the toniest of shopping streets, Melrose Place, with a "pop-up" store, open until Aug. 31 only. The mass market retailer opened the space Friday, on the corner of La Cienega, to launch the latest of its limited-edition GO International collections, this time from French designer Sophie Albou of Paul & Joe.

With boudoir-like dressing rooms and cameos on the walls, the all-white space is as sumptuously decorated as the nearby Marni and Marc Jacobs stores, though most of the Paul & Joe for Target pieces cost no more than $29.99. Paul & Joe is a high-end line known for vintage-like wallpaper prints and whimsical animal motifs, and it is stocked in a handful of U.S. boutiques and Barneys New York. Fans include Sienna Miller, Keira Knightley and Kirsten Dunst, and prices range from about $200 to $1,200.

Highlights of the Target collection include a plaid frame bag with an owl appliqué, a tie-back paisley blouse, a plaid poncho, the perfect jersey kimono dress, cropped cuffed pants and a buttery cream leather jacket with a ruffled collar.

It isn't much different from her actual collection, the designer said Thursday morning, in from Paris for the store opening party that night. And it's true: It has the same French flair, with flirty baby doll tops, skinny pants, capes and twill culottes. The finishing on the pieces is excellent for the price.

"There are many prints from the main line and fits too," she said. "We are not lying to people. It's the real Paul & Joe."

Of course, there are no Target stores in France. But Albou knew about the retailer from shopping there during her vacations to America, mostly so her sons, Paul and Joe, could buy the latest DVDs and video games. Even so, when she was approached about the project last year, she was reluctant.

"People said you have to be careful, Paul & Joe is a high-level French brand." But she soon came to her senses. "I saw the super cool things that they were doing with Isaac Mizrahi and other designers; I was really impressed," she said. "For me, this is a way to introduce the brand to America."

Albou is in Los Angeles quite a bit to visit her brother, who is in the telecommunications business here. So there are certain things she has to do — eat at the Ivy, shop at Decades and hit a garage sale or flea market. "There is a lot of fashion influence from L.A. Things you see here, you see everywhere two to three seasons later."

Target has used the pop-up store concept before, in Manhattan during the 2002 holiday season, with a boat off Chelsea Piers, and the next year at Rockefeller Center, when it introduced the Mizrahi collection.

"It started out of necessity, because we didn't have a store in Manhattan," said John Remington, the company's vice president of marketing. "But as it has evolved, it's become a strategy in and of itself. Now we use it to launch special collections. We decided to do it with Paul & Joe here because the sensibility resonates with L.A. It seemed like a perfect fit."

In an era when retail looks much the same from city to city, it's no wonder Target's pop-up stores have been consistent hits. Nearly all of the merchandise in each one has sold out, Remington said.

The strategy has worked so well that other brands have embraced it too. In 2004, Comme des Garçons opened the first of several temporary Guerrilla Stores in Berlin. During New York Fashion Week last February, the offbeat design house Imitation of Christ operated a movable store, encased in plexiglass, which set up shop in a different location in the city each day.

Last summer, Fila had a pop-up store on Melrose Avenue for a month, which didn't sell anything at all. Instead, customers were invited to stop by and design their own T-shirts. And recently Target has taken the concept online with its Red Hot Shops, which feature limited-edition merchandise on the store's website.

i went to target today and they added the peach chiffon blouse, green pants, burgundy cords, the yellow and brown track-suit, and these cute bib tops. i reeally went back to get the plaid poncho with the hood, but after trying it on about the 6th time...something about it couldn't bring me to spending $60 on it....since i sew and the pattern is so simple....if only it was a bit more fitted somewhere. but i did end up with a rayon top with gathered button cap sleeve in dark navy, and a beige jersey bib tank top, which was new. i'll post pics later....and now im kinda really excited about that knit bag. hope it comes in soon. ^_^

ugh, i'm so upset! i went to finally order the owl jeans, kimono wrap top and embroidered top, and apron cami and everything in my size is sold out!!! i don't remember this happening with luella or tara! does anyone know if these items are in stores, or if they restock the sizes online? i should have moved faster on this!

i saw the owl jeans, kimono top in the green print, embroidered top (tried it on today, but wasn't impressed) at my store in southern california.... but i do think that because they are hying this collection much more than the other two, that people ARE actually catching on to the hype and the trend and the collection is selling quicker than luella or tara....(gosh they have soooooooo much tara stuff at my target on the clearance racks!)

oh yah....i was browsing ebay too and people are starting to buy and resell items on ebay....so i would check there jazzika....you may be able to get a deal, many are selling below retail :flower:

Sorry, Jazzika! I do see all those items in my stores here in DFW, TX, though. Also, back during Luella, I emailed Target to ask about the restocking, and they replied that if something is still shown on the website, that means they are trying as hard as they can to restock it. I hope that makes you feel a bit better! Ditto to what jun said about checking eBay, too, but maybe as a last resort, as they can get greedy.

I really wanna buy some of the cute accessories of P&J, unfortunately our local store doesn't carry any.

i almost bought the pins.....but some of them were already broken on the rack...so i passed

none of my target stuff has arrived. i still have to wait until Aug 28, 2006 - Sept 15, 2006 for my stuff to come. sigh.

im going to target tonight to check out whats there for the first time!

the pins look really cute online. maybe if they are broken i can ask at c. service for a discount! i was really glad to see some of the paul & joe stuff in seventeen, teenvogue etc!

has anyone seen the yellow blazer in their stores?

can anyone give me a pic or link to the yellow blazer? is there a pick already in this thread of it???
