Paul & Joe for Target

If that cream leather jacket came in black I would have snapped it up. I was very impressed with how it looked in person. I hated the Luella Bartley leather jacket.

There's a L/S thermal shirt, color purple, with P&J logo on the wrists and thumb holes (I LOVE thumb hole shirts in cold weather!!). There's also a pair of jeans with blue (+white or lt blue) stripes down the sides. I guess some stores are also carrying the brown/yellow track hoodie now, too. I wish my stores were - I'd love to see that one in person and perhaps snatch it up! :)

^^ yeah, i saw those on ebay!
the hoodie is definitely on my list, and i really like the thumhole thermals too. do you think this stuff will go online in the September batch?

I'm thinking they should be online by next month, if not sooner. Make sure to check on Sundays!

thats a good tip! i will check tomorrow then!
did you get your shipments yet? if so, are you pleased with what you got?

I haven't gotten all my shipments yet, but I did get the white embroidered top today. I like the way it looks, but haven't had the chance to try it on yet. I should be getting my white leather jacket any day now. It was already shipping out by the time I found one in a store, so it was too late to cancel. Oh well. I'm looking forward to trying that on, although with temps around 110F daily, I won't be wearing some of these things for a while! :D I have until end of tomorrow to take advantage of the tax free shopping here. Maybe I'll spot something else.

Big Philosophical Question of the Day (BPQD):

Would we be as crazy about these "go international" items if they were part of Target's regular offering and did not have designers' names on them and did not have the "ooooh snag them before they're gone" factor?

My answer would be "meh". I'm curious to know what you ladies think.
I am guilty of having purchased several items though.

I like to go to Target every now and then to get a piece or two so if it wasn't a special edition or wasn't by a certain designer, I might buy them.

Anyways I went to the nearest Target today-they had most everything that was online. I looked at the kimono dress and it is indeed a really thick material but it is better than what I thought it would be.

They have the track suit (hoodie and pants) at my Target now...I got the brown and gold (I love it!). It also comes in lt blue/maroon. Maybe it'll be online soon then (maybe tomorrow?). I also got the maroon cords - they're so soft.

I would buy these things if they weren't part of GO, but maybe wouldn't be in such a hurry w/o the limited edition factor involved. If I like it, I like it. If I don't, it doesn't matter what name is on it! I have no one to impress here. LOL!

There is a black leather jacket thats in this collection. It's different from the cream, but its cute too. :flower:

I went to the Paul and Joe boutique and the guy told me that tomorrow is their shipments. He said that the kimono dress an owl bag might be coming in this shipment. This means I might be going back because those are the 2 pieces I really want. I bought the turtle pin and red cotton dress today.

Here's the number of the boutique if anyone needs it (323) 782-9071.

hoodies and some thermals are up on the website now but say "not available to buy" - they will probably be made active later on, i think

Thanks, clickmekate!
Yes, in the activewear section, they have the track suit sets in both colors that I saw last night in the store. Weird how the hoodie says unavailable, but the pants are available in all sizes! I just had a feeling there would be new stuff today! Here's a picture of the cat v-neck thermal w/ thumbholes (target.com)

But like clickmekate wrote, it's not available to buy yet.
Here's the track suit in lt blue/maroon (target.com)

And brown/gold

And this is the turtle thermal I got the other day at the store:

Oh great! I can't wait to check them out in the store.

I got the light green thermal shirt with the owl on the front. I wondered why there were holes at the bottom of the sleeves but had no idea they were for your thumbs until seeing the pics here. Either my head is large or the neck of the shirt is really small. I really had to squeeze to get my head through!

as far as liking this collection because it's limited, i really dont think it matters. i frequent target quite often for dresses and basics, because they are pretty well made and at a nice price point. it actually made me a lil' mad that they were using paul and joe and luella, because most people in the states haven't a clue who they are. but, especially with the paul and joe line, if they hype it on tv and on celebs like the laguna beach girl or paris hilton, suddenly everyone wants one and it disgusts me quite a bit. it is no longer about knowing the brand and appreciating it for what they create, but instead (with the help of TV and stars who are famous for being famous) it becoms soley a trendy factor that a large group of the population buy into because paris hilton wore it and because it's limited edition and rather inexspensive. the same with the multicolor LV trend a while back. everyone had one, just to have one, and more than not they were cheapo fakes bought by people ignorant to the manufacturing and illegality factors behind fraudulent merchandise, just to be part of the trend.

While this isn't the case 100%, i do feel that a lot of people have no clue who these designers are, what their collections are about or even where they are from. they are totally ignorant to that and just buy into the hype created which makes me both sad and a lil angry. but what can i do?

on another note, thanks so much for the updates. i haven't seen the L/S shirts yet. i think im going back tomorrow to get the hooded capelett jacket thing. just too cute, even if it is rather big....maybe i'll take it apart and alter it a bit to fit ^_^

In the new Seventeen magazine with Christina Aguilera on the cover, there is a page for Paul & Joe stuff (page 86 I think). It shows some pieces I haven't seen before-navy blue shorts, knit bag, and probably some other stuff I can't remember. There's a whole rack of Paul & Joe in the background of the main picture.

I went to my Target yesterday and there was hardly anything left! I'm hoping it's just because they haven't put much out yet.

I normally don't go to Target for clothes so the Go International campaign has made me look closely at their clothing and shoes. Look at these patent peep toe wedges that I just bought! So cute! With that said, I only got the dot print blouse from the Tara Jarmon line (I returned the colorblock dress) and I like the Paul & Joe line the most. I think the designs were executed well and the materials and fit are overall better.

BTW, has anyone seen this logo sweater? I think it's cute. I got it at the L.A. boutique which carries everything in the P&J line. They also have this logo shirt that I almost got. Sorry I didn't get a better picture of the shirt.

The L.A. pop-up store is cute BTW. It's actually a boutique. The ambiance made me think that the clothes deserved higher price tags. LOL!

The only item I'm really waiting for from the Paul and Joe Line is the owl bag; but does anyone know approx. how much it /will cost(s)?

=)

does anyone have pics of the knit bag? i have heard about it but i haven't seen it anywhere....

According to the August issue of Teen Vogue, the bag is "about $35"! :)
