Personal must-haves for F/W 07.08

^ Well, way back before the shows we had a couple of different prediction threads. One was overall trends, and I said there that '20s had been flying under the radar for awhile and I'd really like to see it take off. A trends forum moderator who shall remain nameless mercilessly mocked the idea and said that none of the trend experts were predicting any such thing, absolutely not, will never ever happen. Well ... I was thinking about this as I was looking at eds last night ... Kate Hudson wearing 20s, and another one with all the Sonia Delauney inspired prints that just make me swoon :crush:

Then we had another thread predicting the must-have item for this season, and I said again, oxfords have been a sleeper trend for awhile now, I say oxfords will be the must-have item. And goshdarnit they would be if there were any worth having  None I have seen are just exactly right, but I'll admit it--I am super picky about shoes. The shoes I have fallen in love with are Mary Janes ... they haven't come in yet, hopefully they will fit ... I haven't worn the designer before.

Got Barneys' denim catalog last night, and I am totally tempted by their bring your old jeans in for 20% off offer ... I think I'm gonna go take a look.

oh---i see....
i remember when you started that thread but i never kept up with it...
and i obviously know who you mean......

well- that is some spot on trend forecasting i would say missy!....
:p

i never would have guessed it frankly...

that's nice

I also thought junya S/S 08 includes some lovely pieces.

softgrey, doesn't marsell have white shoes/boots?

Agreed on Junya, one of the strongest s/s 08 men's collection. I like the new Poell but I'm affraid those joints are like behind the knee distressing on denim, you have to be the exact height they designed the pants for or they fall awkwardly.

By the way I didn't know they made small sizes for Augusta boots, as far as I know there isn't a women's line.

I expected it to be okay, trying the sample on.
we never know how it is produced though.

augusta shows in paris twice per season
during both menswear fashion week and womenswear fashion week
womens stuff is available at leclaireur tokyo etc.

runner, those last white boots are so beautiful! Are they Guidi? I saw a similar pair in red leather.

Fuuma, that is a fantastic list, I am in full support of every item on it. But don't you have an Ugo Cacciatori ring already?

softie, that bag is very cool. I love the shape.

i didn't know that either about augusta...

fuuma- your pants sound really nice...

thanks laika- they tried to deliver yesterday but i was out...
guess it will arrive mon..

Runner: I didn't know about that, when the line was launched I do believe hearing about them doing basic leather goods for men, good news I'll look for pictures of the show women’s show.

Laika and Softgrey: I'll try posting pictures later; the work is amazing on those, especially where the seam splits in two distinct lines like an inversed "Y" around the knees. Poell is so in tune with a person's anatomy that I'm always impressed by his design decisions; ornate practicality is a rare gift indeed. Of course, like I previously mentioned this makes it hard to fit his garments as they're quite precisely attuned to you (or not).

Laika: I do have an Ugo leaf ring with embedded stone; I’d get a complementary simpler one if I went that route.

By the way will any ladies be getting Ann Valérie Hash?

fuuma-
funny you should mention that...
i still have not worn my ann VH jacket that i got last spring...
so i think it's time for that to come into rotation..
i also noticed that she did something for la redoute...
but only on the european website......

...

laika yes they are guidi (available in 36-38).
their one-piece of leather boots are beautiful.

i'm also looking for a pr of long black wool gloves...

i was thinking i would see if TSE cashmere did any....

Yay! I brought a gorgeous coat today. Its a belted dark grey wool coat. I'm so happy I finally managed to find one

softgrey, those are marvelous. I enjoy the rugged look when it comes to shoes, since mine often become that way within time. ;)
