By the way, isn't tongue piercing something you get rid of once there comes the time in your life when you're about to get employed for something serious ?? Actually, I would apply it to all kinds of piercings that appear on visible parts of your body... As much as I love mine, I don't think that I will have them forever.
Overall, I like piercings in general, but each particular case in different... The thing that I do not like is when something that was meant to be edgy in the first place gets so overly popular that it become a mass culture. I don't have anything against mass culture or any of its elements in general, it's interesting in it's own way, but when it's something that used to be edgy shortly before... It just looks kinda... hmm... donno...bad taste, maybe
? Ironically, something that has never been anything but an element of mass-culture stands at a much lesser risk of making such impression.And, yeah, as you rightly pointed out, the health-related issues must be the first thing to be taken into consideration and taken care of.
