Piercings

I love piercings, but so many people have them now adays that its not really a sign of rebelion or any thing.

i got piercings myself but i have to secretely admit that anything too obvious is tacky.
i even had to take my tongue piercing out cause it was def not always appropriate.
now i just got my belly pierced.

as SPACE said, its so common now that its almost overseen... i think in order to sport one on the face, one must have a distinctive look :flower:

Back and wrist piercings make me feel sick but facial aren't too bad...

I have a very tiny stud in my nose... most of the time people dont even notice i have it.. but when they do, they always comment on how cute and small it is.

I have my nose and my labret peirced as well as my ears gaguged out to a 4...I have a great jon that lets me look the way I want...but when the need arises I do understand I need to take them out sometime.

I don't like facial piercings myself, but if it suits you, that's great! :flower:

Personaly I don't mind them at all, although I don't have anything pierced on me.

I guess it all depends on the person, sometimes it looks cheap, sometimes sexy, all depends on whether you know how to wear it well. :)

I find facial piercings to be very distracting and, in a job interview for example, I think I'd be put off by it. Just being honest. :flower:

but of course I would take a facial piercing out for a job interview...I agree, it's not professional at all. :)
If you didn't wear it to the interview, I wouldn't expect you to wear it on the job. :innocent: [/b][/quote]
Well, of course! :)

At the company I was working for this summer they hired a 40 year old Ph.D. with something around 20 (visible) piercings and multicolor dyed hair for a senior position. She definetley did not take them out at any point of the hiring process, although most were wishing she would. Of course she's not going to be in any customer-relations position, but I still think that excess like that is unprofessional in the contemporary workplace. I would not, however, say the same for a young girl having one small nose stud or eyebrow piercing.
Personally, I think the nose studs, if really small can look very cute on some girls - particularly tan ones, but I'm not such a big fan of the eyebrow piercings although some gals can pull it off. Bellybutton piercings can be very hot though if you got the body that it can accentuate.

when i c a person with an eyebrow/nose/bellybotton piercing, i think *urban/modern*...not punk unless u have all of them all over ur face..

Extreme piercings generally gross me out a bit, but I do think more subtle ones can be nice. I rather like nose rings myself, although it really wouldn't suit my face. The extent of my adventurous piercings is the stud at the top of my ear... ;)
By the way, has anyone seem these before? I've been noticing them lately and I think they actually look pretty good on certain people. :flower: http://www.yongesttattoos.com/images/pierc...elanie/mel5.jpg
i quite like monroe's but only on some people . . if they can carry it off w/out looking like they're trying too hard
the only facial piercings i like are labrets . . . don't know why

Exactly.

and about the Monroe.. I guess on some people it can look okay.. but I'm not a huge fan of them myself.. there's this guy that walks around campus.. and I always see him.. he has this piercing.. it just looks, odd... everyone person that I've seen with this piercing has just looked as if it doesnt' belong on their face... I'm beginning to think they look silly on all faces... but then again, I also hate Labrets, tragus, etc.

Other than the regular spot on my ears, the cartilage at the top.
I went through a phase of wanting to get my nose done, but that passed...

I have my ears pierced. I had my left ear cartilage pierced 3 times but it kept getting infected so I gave up on it. And I have had my belly button pierced for almost 4 years.
And soon I want to get my tongue pierced.

Just my ears haha, one hole on each! I want my nose done just like a little tiny stud diamond. I use to want a belly button ring but now i think they are to over rated! A tounge ring seems kinda fun though! ;)
