i had my tragus, tongue, and rook pierced. i took them all out though. it was a college thing, i suppose.

now i just have two earring holes in each lobe.

I have my ears pierced twice on each lobe right now, although I never wear the second holes... I also had my nose pierced until about two weeks ago when it pulled out in my sleep and I couldnt find the stud in th morning. Now its a little dark circle on my nose :( I miss my diamond. In high school I also had my navel pierced but I took it out because it kept getting irritated from my surfing. Not fun when the piercing sticks to the wax.

just my ears once :) i like it simple . . too many holes really wouldn't suit me or my style
i was going to get a tongue bar  don't know what i was thinking
i go through phases i wanted a labret & lip ring . . . . but i know i'd regret them

I have a rook and conch piercing. 4 holes in my right ear in which I havent worn anything in years. One hole in my left. My bellybuton is pierced and i used to have a lipring.

Tongue Piercings

Hey guys..thehheee I didn't know where to put this so I just place it here..

Anyways, I'm thinking of getting my tongue pierced on the weekend :P , but I'm really worried about it...Does it hurt or it it really true that it just looks painful but really isn't?...How bad is it after? Swelling/Pain?....

:flower:
Any opinons and input specially from people with tongue piercings would help a great deal..

My brother had it done ... it closes up quickly.. and your tongue is swollen for a day or two(maybe more)..

I dont personally like the look of tongue rings... I dunno.

Make sure you go somewhere good to get it done. :)

heard that you could only eat soup for a week. well, can't take in solid food. also, you prob already know this but be careful b/c if they pierce it wrong, it could paralyze your whole tongue/mouth and you won't be able to speak.

Yeah I heard that..thats why I think I wanna get it done at the Gauntlet here in LA...it was the first piercing shop in America and has the best people working there and they are very clean with things...plus they are really kool...they did my friends piercings or I might do it at the place my stepdad and mom got their tattoos done yesterday...I am for sure looking up how reputatble it is...I don't care if its gonna cost more there..rather pay like 30 dollars extra than have to pay reconstructive surgery on my tongue for a screwup...

I'm scared cuz it looks like it hurts though....

I'm actually scared of needles to be honest... :ninja:

Actually, that's not true, just an urban myth.

If you need lots of info, check out http://www.bmezine.com/. When I got my belly button pierced this is where I got a lot of my info from. Also, very important, make sure your piercer uses a sterile never-been-used needle and he should put the clamps in the cleaner to be sterilized in front of you. If they're any good they'll be really professional and follow all the steps. Good luck!

Oh yeah just remember, guys think certain things about girls with tongue rings lol :P.

Thanks for the site..and yeah...I know about that...my guy friends all told me...they already joke about that with me already so a tongue piercing is not gonna change a thing..they'll just joke I'm taking it to a much higher"professional" level of giving LOL....

I'm not getting it for those purposes though. I just want it because I like piercings and I think its cute..plus its one of the few more hidden piercings I can have done. :P

i had it done.
didnt hurt at all.
swell for a day.
had soup and other liquids.
changed the bar 3 weeks later.

was LUCKY not to have any infections....

even though i had it done in the cleanest piercing studio in london at the time  you never know :ninja:

Just as long as you don't turn into one of those annoying people who is always playing with their tongue ring (flicking it across their lips, slurping on it, smacking it against their teeth).

+Actual peircing did not hurt. Just feel funny as it slides on through
+I couldn't speak normally for a week.
+You get sick of soup by the end of the week
+Changed my bar a month later/
+Clean it regularly, and when they tell you not to play with it, DONT PLAY WITH IT. When you do it causes tears, which can form into keloid scars. Which do not look pretty on your tongue

Goodluck, and hope you enjoy it :flower:

Hahah thanks people...I am sure soup and icecream, milkshakes, etc will be hated by me by the time I'm done.

I have alot of friends who have done it, they say it dosn't hurt at all, its dos swell though. just be careful.

I had it done a long time ago. As long as the place is clean and follows certain guidelines, I say go for it. Do they have state regulations for piercings in Cal? I know they do in Florida which is where I lived at the time. It doesn't really hurt, just kind of shocking when you feel the needle go through. The swelling usually goes away after 2 days (chewing/sucking on ice really helps) Get used to Listerine rinses after anything you put in your mouth. (funny, I love Listerine because of that). Skip the calories in milk shakes and go with Icee's. Once healed, you can eat and talk normally, but the first time you eat spaghetti will be wierd-it gets caught on the barbell. As others have said, please don't chew on it or click it on your teeth which is bad for the enamel anyway. If you decide you don't want it anymore, it will close up pretty quick. I took mine out after 2 years for a job interview and didn't bother putting it back in and it was closed up in 2 days.
Good luck and have fun!

i had it done.

it didn't hurt at all.

but, after i took it out, i did get a scar underneath my tongue that sticks out a little.

Piercings, especially tongue piercings, are supposed to close/shrink tight very quickly if you take your jewellery out. This might be true for most people; my piercings shrink, but they don't close. I think I might have rubbery flesh, because I can still use jewellery in way old piercings if I want to.

And no, I agree; tongue piercings do not hurt at all, they are simply uncomfortable for a week or so, give or take.

ugh.. tongue piercings are the new belly button piercings: too trendy, too overdone, and blah

i think the labret piercings on very pretty girls or girls who aren't grunge can be reallly hot (a la christina aigulera), but not for forever..

I have my tongue pierced. I got it done a couple weeks before my 18th birthday. It DOES hurt regardless of what people say. I felt it going through my tongue and I couldnt eat for about 5 days, only soups. It helps to suck on ice. I like my piercing and I think you should go for it! If you need anymore info on it PM me.

Make sure you eat a good meal before you go! I didnt and I was really hungry for about 5 days.

Good luck
