^^^ just keep it clean and it should heal up fine i had no problems with mine, just hope you dont get a cold!

now i have a cold and the ring i wear is a tad in the way, but i dont want to take it out due to my medusa/philtrum, blowing my nose is getting abit tricky with this fresh piercing aswell:ninja:

Today I had my left ear pierced about half way up the outer-rim and I felt a bit faint afterwards which i suppose is normal, but now I'm feeling quite hot and clammy. Is this anything to worry about? I've got both my earlobes pierced and my tragus as well so my body isn't completely averse to piercings. Has anyone else experienced a similiar sort of thing?

How long ago? It might still be the adrenaline of it? Or maybe you are just getting ill generally? I think infections would take a bit longer than a day to have symptoms. I am no doctor though.

Where did you get it done? Was it with a needle and hygienic? To be honest it doesn't seem like an infection if it happened right afterwards as Deborah said. And how do you feel now?

Deborah and Milada, thank you for your replies, I'm feeling fine now- it's really strange... perhaps it was an adrenalin rush like you said Deborah..

Anyway, thanks guys :flower: I was having a bit of a panic there and when I googled it only the worst case scenarios came up (like TSS) which freaked me out! I was being much too dramatic.

Always good to be concerned about those sorts of things and not ignore things that are unusual. I was talking to someone last night who had her lip pierced and took it out after less than a day and she said that despite the number of piercings she had gotten done previous, she felt oddly light-headed afterwards.

I got my nose pierced the other day! It's a stud. It looks really cute but I'm already annoyed with it... :ninja: In the future if I want to take it out, will it leave a hole? That's what I'm scared of, mostly. Is it better to take it sooner than later? I mean I like it, I guess I'm just not very used to it. I keep rubbing my nose and forgetting it's there and it hurts.

I would say keep it in for now. Then again, I've had my nose pierced for a year and a half now and I dealt with those sorts of pains. I wouldn't know, as far as taking it out, since I have no plans to take it out anytime soon-but if you are seriously wanting it gone, do it now so that it will leave less of a scar. If you do it later, there will be more scarring.

If you like the look of it, wait at least 1-2 weeks before deciding to remove it based on pain and/or irritation. Piercings are very irritating during the first week but soon you won't feel it's there... I have my lip and 'low'-bret pierced and I wanted to rip them out during the first week, so maybe you can just weather the storm. If you don't like your new appearance, that's a different story. :glare: I don't know about scarring and everything; you need to ask your piercer.

my septums swollen on one side and it hurts quite alot when i touch the end of my nose
what can i do to help it?

i'd just baby it with a cleaning routine like you would when it was first done and take some ibuprofen to take the swelling down. just keep up the cleaning until it settles down again.

this is what i do when any of my piercings decide to flare up.

^^ get a glass of warm water and rock salt n mix it n them like try dip your nose in the glass for a bit. i used salt water on my belly ring n thank god it never got infected.

Ok, it's been a good 6 weeks since I had my ear pierced and now I want to change it. It's about half-way up the outer-rim and at the moment it is pierced with a "ring" that is about 3/4 ring, with a gap of 5 mm or so, and in the gap is a tiny ball that you just 'pop' out when you want to change it. Does that make any sense? It's difficult to explain... Anyway, it turns out that the ball that you just 'pop' out nice and easily is actually really difficult to do and I've been trying for ages and it won't come out. Is there a knack to it? My ears throbbing a bit now that I've been tugging at it for a while... I'll leave it to rest for a bit, but any help/ tips would be much appreciated for try number 2!

i've been thinking on getting pierced my tragus. my sister pierced her left tragus 2 years before, but the earing fell down and the hole closed.
im actually going to ask her if she want to go with me to get it pierced, she is really expert in these things, she has pierced her bellybutton once, and ears at least 6 times. in different parts (she is not like a punk, but she often looses the earings so the holes close )

so what do you think about tragus piercings? are the nice? (btw i havent pierced my ears before, only the classic pierced when you are like 2 months old.):flower:

there is a knack theres even a special pair of pliers that help getting that ball out. i'd go back to your piercer to get it removed, they should happily do it for you, since cbr's(captive bead rings) arent easily removed by yourself.

i have 4 piercings in my ears and i want to pierce my tongue too, but i'm not sure if i can handle the pain and that stuff yet

^ ive heard the tounge isnt soo bad to pierce (pain wise) my cousin got it done, she said it hurt the first few layers when the needle was going through but the rest didnt.
