I got my inner conch pierced few weeks ago. It hurt like *beep* and the sound was awful.

But it healed pretty quickly, (of course it takes up to few years for cartilage to completely heal, but) it didn't hurt to touch it after a week and now I've been sleeping on the ear and there's no pain at all.

I have also a cartilage piercing in my other ear too. It hurt for over a year! I almost took it out but luckily I didn't.

They're addicting, now I'm planning to get a tragus ^_^

i want tragus too! not sure when yet though, also i want my lower belly button aswell, i heard it gets infected easy though..

I'd love to get a rook. ^_^

^^ i have the rook. I got it done maybe 5-6 years ago and it hurt like a mother. Since that day i have never taken it out. never had any problems what so ever.

I always get complamented on it when some gets a glimps of it

:woot: Thanks for your input BirkinAddict. It looks so cute itself! I have my cartilage pierced... how much more could a rook possibly hurt?

i heard it hurts alot, thats whats putting me off, i dont think i could do it
i ran away from the woman when i went to get my septum pierced, which is supposedly most painful, but i really doubt it as i hardly felt it :S
i also went through a phase of wannting my neck done but i heard its really likely to reject within a couple of months.

I got nipple rings in 1988. I live in the Washington, DC area. There was not a piercer areound. Once every month or so a piercer would come down from New York for a day. It was in a "leather" store sotherewas no couch. We did it standing up in a dressing room. He clamped them with hemastats and ran the needle through them.

I have 2 "erotic" piercings. My wife loves them. She says "they" feel great. Well one really does and the other not so much.

I always wanted a septum piercing but never go one.

Back in 86 I got both ears pierced. I did not wear them a lot. I was living in the deep south. Such things were not tolerated well back then...

You have a captive beed ring. On some the indents on the beed are kind of deep and harder to get out. Others are very shallow. In some ways I think the larger the guage the shallower the indents because the ring will not streach especiall like a0 - 6 guage. in a pinch you can use needle nose pliars from the inside to streach the ring until the beed falls out. tHERE ARE A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS- 1. THE PLIARS ARE ANGLED oops dang caps key... so they can slip and 2.- be careful not to scratch the ring. The ones a piercer uses will have a sideways prong on each pliar so the do not angle. I would wait and let the piercer change them. Usually there is such a markup on the jewelry- like 100% over Tribal Lectric or something like that.

I love nose piercings especially on ladies, particularly nose ones.

The secret is to take a big breath of air and start exhaling as the piercing procedure starts. I thik it only works on nipples and "down there". Probably not as much on above the neck ones, but well I think the further down you go the more sensative things are except belly button, but in the end I always thought it was worth it.

I remember about 8-10 years ago I streached my nipples to a 4 guage with about a 5/8 in barbell (plus the balls on each end). Needless to say they really showed through shirts- especially t-shirts. Remember washington is very conservative dressing and I loved seeing these shocked looks of women as I would walk by and they would see the shape of the barbells.

thats always been the advice ive been given, but i think when you actually go to get it done all that goes out the window due to panic.. well it does with me anyways.
one thing i say to people as advice is to shut their eyes tight especially if its a piercing when the needle can be seen, seeing the needle COMPLETELY scares me.

thats funny the piercer i go to always reminds me to breathe, as for the needles i couldnt help looking when i got my septum done seeing a needle sitcking out of your nose is pretty funny.

im attempting to search for a job and spending money on clear retainers for my face makes me sad since i have no money anyway:doh:

im really not bothered about seeing needles, the funiest one was my wrist it looked pretty funny with a needle stuck through it. plus when i got my tats done i watched intently apart from the one on my leg it took so long i just lay there with my eyes closed and listened to the music my artist had put on.

I have my ears stretched to 13mm and my nose pierced on both sides. People never really notice any of my piercings. I think my tattoos are too distracting haha

it wasnt particularly when it was in my nose but when it was right next to it and she was about to do it, after that i could look in the mirror and laugh at the fact i looked like a cave man..

i always squish my eyes shut when it actually goes though but thats more of a reaction more than anything! i dont think i have anymore places on me that need a bit of metal through them but i never say never;)

I did have too many piercings, I grew out of some but have kept others. I think when I start college this year my facial ones will have to go. Luckily my lip never heals

Did have:
Tongue
Side Lip x2
Nipples x2
Naval
Septum
Clitoral hood
Ears stretched to 13mm
Additional 2 piercings on each ear

Now have:
Lip x1
Tongue
Clitoral hood

I think I was going ott :/ . I also have one tattoo lol

I do love piercings, I must say my fear of them has developed over the years, I could now never get my tongue or naval re pierced if I had to. I'm also scared of roller coasters now..

Can I ask a question about your tongue piercing, smartvscruffy?

Is it true that a tongue piercing will wear away the enamel of the teeth? I can imagine that would be true. Have you heard that from the person who did it for you?

this is my dilemma as well, im not sure whether to wear my septum down for the first day of college due to like first impressions and all that..

also, papa_levante enamel can be chipped when metal balls are worn, if you wear plastic balls on the end of the bar its much less likely to happen

I vote for wearing it down. That way they see it when the meet you. You live in England I see. I think they will think it stranger if you hide it and then pull it down later. If say, all of a sudden they (this is a guy's perspective) they seee you in a pub on Saturday night I think they will think that you are a closet (weekend/deep down) freaky girl. (And you may be that is not the point or their business)... However, if you wear it down then they think you just like to dress a little punky or whatever, but you are a "normal" student and all just an average 18 year old girls (or however old you are).

Besides, all the guys I know think nose piercings in particular are cute on girls although some would not admit it...
No one cares much either way like they did 20 years and you do not live in canservative southern USA. Good Luck! In the end it is what makes you feel the most comfortable...

mm i know what you mean, its not just students its teachers aswell.. il just have to see how it goes, i can always decide on the day see how i feel ^_^
