Prada S/S 2009 Milan

uhm..... does Miuccia have an obsession with the seaside? after the Miu Miu Neprene disaster (admit it), it's more pool and beach side.

it's definitely more commercial than what we've seen in the past few seasons tho.

Always interesting, always cool. Great prints, love the fish especially not super keen on the snake skin. The fabrics are completely WOW, love the gold metal finale and the crinkle fabric goes without saying. Quite glam but in a very dilapidated regal way - like someone washed out to sea, returns looking all disheveled but very sexy.

The shoes are amazing! I love them - even if they are impossible to walk in!
I think the problem is definately the fact that the foot is in cotton, so there can be no grip whatsoever, it must be impossible!

This is probably one of my favorite Prada shows ever. I love when she does slight ethnic references because it always comes off so natural and easy.

The bra tops are the most convincing spin on the midriff trend.

i like the shoes and some of the white pieces.

i'm really trying to reserve judgement because i feel like most of miuccias collections have a tendency to grow on me once i see it in context. i hated last season's miu miu but realized how perfect it was for the olympics. miuccia is a smart woman and i really want to see a video for this like she has the last 2 collections to see where she was trying to go with it. hm.

Apparently someone fell/broke a heel during the show. Those are certainly some tall shoes!

Another winner. I like that it is a a little disheveled and not at all stuffy. After all, it's spring--I'm supposed to feel breezy and diaphanous. And though those shoes appear lethal, I feel they'll be very coveted among the (very) fashion set.

Such a wronderful collection! I love that messy, creased fabrics

c'mon miuccia....leave the misogynistic footwear to your male counterparts.....I thought you were one of us.....a woman's woman.

I just find everything so odd. The prints are hideous and though I like the white crinkled pieces, some of them remind me of diapers.

I don't hate it and I don't love it, but I am head over heels for those white crumpled cotton numbers...they remind me of an agressively hot wedding night or a runaway bride ending up getting boozed at some truckstop. Very erotic...Her shows have always had some ammount of perversion or eroticism but mostly it's subtle or almost invisible. With last season being an introduction to a less subtle eroticism, this is pretty much in your face, but still under control and not over the top. Nice direction, I think....

And I don't care how many models stumbled or fell, even Stammy went down...but the eye wants something too (man talking here) and the shoes are just amazingly gorgeous! I love them

Agree^ Love love the crinkly/crumpled fabrics, the erotic feel and the colours - well most of them...

just when i thought the golden shade in D&G was the worst..

This collection wasn't like I was expecting but I don't care because it is so good! And you know Prada is Prada...
The shoes are great! So beautiful, classy... But they seem hard to walk...
I like the different fabrics. This collection is sexy, but it's classy and chic.
For me Sasha's look is the best... Miuccia is back with all.
Can'y wait to see this collection in the magazines! :woot:

Sadly disappointed; most pieces look really cheaply made & poorly mass produced.
Also, agree about the shoes: give them to your worst enemies ;-)

Oh, just read your comment about the collection; IMO this mostly reflects your own sensitive sensibility rather than the collection. But very nicely put. :flower:

Those shoes are the most precarious of designs imagineable. The socklets should be sewn onto the sole to avoid some lethal accidents.
There is NOTHING innovative about the rest of the line up. I suppose the 90's rumpled fabrications will resonate as Burberry also went the rustic route...but the only tidy thing is the chignon in this collection. A nod to Sarah Palin perhaps?
Meaningless.
