Prada S/S 2009 Milan

i didn't really like the last few crinkled gold dresses
i liked everything else though

I like the textures actually. Though I think that, contrasted with some of the other pieces make the collection not look so cohesive..

And those shoes look ridiculous.. arch of the foot is too high of course girls would trip in them.

yeah, that's the point i guess... its her charismatic figure which enhances the collections making you at least think about it......

Does anyone have a video/clip of this yet? Im anxious to hear the Elvis Presley soundtrack!

I'll try not to post anything about the drama of those shoes, but the only I'll say is that I think is that bonnet fabric who made the girls stumble. Maybe the fishes were a premonition of that.

Interesting collection, as always at Prada, I don't want to judge it already because I do think Prada's collection need to be digested first, and that's something you don't do at the moment. Maybe with editorials, celebrities, time will say... but I'm pretty sure Miucca did what she always does with her collections, make reactions. It's love it or hate it.

In a way, Miuccia strikes me as the type of creative person who would rather have people hate what she does than just "like" it, you know? She seems like the type who wants to elicit a strong reaction one way or another, rather than just doing something nice and pleasant.

iawtc. she goes further than a lot of other desginers in my opinion. she has security in knowing that people are going to be attracted to anything shoe does whether it be for good or bad. so, she doesn't worry about her stuff being "wearable" as the next designer.

#180, one of the bags looks like those drawstring bags you're given at the prada store except crinkled. hahahaa what a slap in the face. its the nicest one too

does anyone else find that for some reason, the models look shorter ?
or am I just that tired right now ?

i hated this collection
except for the last few
gold dresses

im sorry...
but what in the heck is this?
it all just looks really cheap...like you just forgot to iron your clothes and stumbled out the door...
i honestly think shes saving all the cool ideas for herself to show at miu miu and just making w/e at prada because she knows people are going to buy it anyway...

hmm, now that I have seen the whole thing, I can make a serious comment.

Prada always tends to look heinous on the runway due to styling or whatever. By the time it hits editorials and even later when the modified versions get to celebrities, its exponentially better.

However, I don't know how this will play out in eds. There are definitely a few pieces I can see that have a lot of potential to look great, but so much of this looks unfinished. And not unfinished in a cool, deconstructed Japanese designer way, just sloppy. The half skirts, the pieces with bunched up fabric around the mid-section don't do anything for the models' figures and don't really look visually interesting either (I can deal with unflattering cuts if there is something special about them, but I am just not seeing it here)

I think the only pieces I really like are the sweaters (the tie-back is very cute) and some of the crinkly, white pieces which look like paper. The gold stuff literally hurts my eyes, as if I am staring into a lightbulb.

I don't know what to think. I think I need to see the looks in sequence that they appeared in show. But so far its atleast interesting. Prada usually makes Milan worthwhile.

The shoes are pretty amazing (however insane).
Other than that this collection is totally worthless/pointless/stupid
Once again Prada is trying hard to break the mold and be different for the sake of being different and creating something totally ridiculous.

Usually I give Prada props for atleast creating things that work well in editorial but I don't even see these doing anything for an editorial shoot (though I think the gold dresses and the shoes will be all over the place in magazines).

Awful, awful, awful

All I can say is I LOVE all of it. I LOVE the clothes themselves, especially the black pieces and the beige pieces and the brown pieces...oh I just love it all. I LOVE the styling...the hair, the make up, the gorgeous little earrings...it's wonderful. I love the fish on the runway. I LOVE the Elvis soundtrack...oh, this is just too much!

And I love the shoes...however, I'm so sad that so many girls fell. One girl falling is ok, but when multiple girls fall, it unfortunately becomes distracting.

I can't wait to read all the reviews that will talk more about falling models than the actual clothes...

Oh, and telegraph has a video

I saw a video of the collection and I like the cropped sweater. The crinkled fabrics were interesting and the shoes were so impressive. Seriously, a drag queen couldnt walk in those platform heels.

Some of it I love, and some of it I hate! I like the textures, and I like a lot of the skirts. I'm really not into the gold stuff at all.

I completly agree, i love when people post collection pictures like this, its the lazy b*tch in me.

Same here. I always appreciate when someone posts a collection that I can look through without to click on every image. Not that there aren't benefits to the other way of posting, but you know what I mean, lol.

I do love the shoes. :ninja: I'm sorry so many girls had to fall in them, but it's the first time (at least in a while) that I love Prada shoes. The clothes, as usually with Prada collection, is a bit "Emperor's new Clothes" for me, but I learned to live with that. Some pieces I noticed remind me a lot of that MJ 'undressing' collection.
