But if i liked the jeans i would buy a larger size than usual, because I don't really think we can determine how good we look or what actual shape we are via these labels anymore. If it looks good, i don't care whether it's a 4 or a 16.

There's nothing wrong with a size 12, ???

But seriously, the vanity thing is really annoying. Like you I'm an 8, yet am sized out in many stores. I can't shop at Next at all nowadays as even their size 6 is too loose. Miss Selfridge tries to convince me i'm a size 4, even though my true measurements are a lot bigger. I dont find it flattering, just infuriating, and patronizing.
When i've seen old stuff from Topshop in charity stores, their sizes were much, much smaller in comparison to today.

Some consistency would be nice, especially online.

That said, I recently found a really cute mac at primark. And i love how they use paper bags:)

Primark are the best fit for me in any jeans. Their size 8 could have been made for me, but to be honest, I don't know what size I am any more. I have things from size 6 to 12 often from the same shop. I think they just put any size labels in and hope for the best.

This is so Prada. Love it.

Does Primark make sizes UK 6? Or does it start from size 8?

It starts at 8, they don't make a size 6 - although the sizing on some stuff is so off that some of the 8's could easily fit like a 6. I have a sleeveless t-shirt in a size 18 that fits like a 10! It's just pot luck really.

I went in today and discovered they actually do make a size 6! I don't think it's in everything but I definitely saw 6's in some items.

^ they do size 6's in jeans, and the 'basics' like vest tops, etc, at least in mine they do.

Yes, but never in stuff i need a 6 for, like coats:(

here's hoping for more soon!

Also, regarding recent discussion about their items seeming a bit small, I find that a lot of them really slacken with use. A few pairs of pants and tops that I've purchased this past year have started out kind of tight but after a few wears...expanded.

I'm going to London soon, and I've never been to Primark before but now I'm all excited. There is this blogger I follow that loves her Primark stuff and I'm so eager to check it out myself ^_^. Is the Oxford street store any good? And is there more than one Primark in London?

The Oxford Street store is good, has plenty of stuff but go as early as you can. I try to go before 11 otherwise there is too many people and it's a mess, people also seem to think it's okay to leave their buggy's in the middle of the shop etc etc. I get stressed easily around people though so you might be okay.

There are other Primarks in London- not really central though, Hammersmith might be the next closest but it's probably easier to just go for the Oxford Street one.

Oxford St. Primark is CHAOS. I'm from North England so I've only been a couple of times but compared to the equally big stores in Manchester and Liverpool I hate it! You've got to have a lot of patience, especially if you want to try something on since the queues are massive. I would suggest going for when it opens if you can as it's probably a lot quieter early on.

Thanks a lot girls! I'll go to the Oxford st. Falsecontender, I'm just like you, I get stressed easily too. I'm get very stressed with people who block the way but I really want to check out the cheap clothes. So I'll make sure to be there at 8.30 .
How is their return policy? Maybe If I really don't want to wait I can just try it on at my hotel and return/exchange it for another size.

The return policy is great, they're usually are quick and don't ask questions but the queues are hell because people are usually exchanging and buying more stuff. The customer service tills are separate from the other tills.
I usually try stuff on in store, like on the shop floor but the queues for changing rooms shouldn't be too bad early on so I would risk it, better than having to go back and stand in a queue anyway.

Oxford St is GREAT when they open. Less queues, and no crazy people throwing things around the floor. I am a glutton for organisation!

Bought set of panties in primark and they are fallen apart after just one month (hand-washed!!). I know the price is very low, but I feel like throwing my money that way.

how is the quality of primark-items?

On the whole, not good. It's hit and miss, I have items that've lasted for years but other stuff falls apart quickly. Never had a problem with accessories or clothes but as someone said before the underwear is pretty terrible.

I'm loving their ultra soft super skinny jeans. They come in a variety of colours and fit me great! Just got the dark teal ones and if they don't fall apart after washing, I'll definitely be buying more!

Their towels are pretty great too.
