Project Runway Season 3

First of all, I'm pretty sure it was the quilting that Jay did himself (the beautiful long coat), and that he did some of the crocheted pieces himself/had some of it made for him.

As far as Jeffrey cheating/getting help: I am a little leary of Jeffrey's reaction when Laura confronted him because he was very quiet and not the usual "angry jeffrey". But I also believe that he seems calmer in general since the show aired. Maybe even happier (dare I say it). So maybe that's why he wasn't very defensive. Also, the more I think about it the more a really do believe that he could've finished it himself. Laura is pregant with 5 young boys. Hello... Michael waited 2 or 3 weeks before he even started his collection. And Uli, God love her, is very spacey and... almost in la-la land. Jeffrey has a very clear aesthetic, is very driven and appreciative of how far he's come, and he is a professional. I wish him luck. Laura and Jeffrey are both giving each other a run for their money.

p.s. i'm glad jeffrey didn't use the wigs. I think they would have ruined his collection.

I completely agree, Eliza! I hated the wigs! And the whole point of models is to make sure they do not distract from the clothes - can you imagine how distracting ugly blonde wigs would've been, especially on the models of color, like Marilinda? Odd, so odd.

they either had 2 or 3 months i'm not sure which, but, i don't think it was 7?

Project Runway: The Inside Dish!
Designer and Runway alum Nick Verreos gives his weekly insider's view on the Emmy-nominated show

EPISODE THIRTEEN
As the end loomed near for the four season 3 finalists, they gathered one last time in front of Heidi and Tim at Parsons. Heidi proceeded to tell them that their final challenge would be to design 12 looks for Fashion Week, using $8,000 and only two months to do it. Last season's final designers had seven months to create their looks, and yet almost no one had a finished collection when they arrived for Fashion Week. I fear that they probably spent four of those seven months trying to detox from what they had just experienced. This time, however, Jeffrey, Laura, Michael and Uli had no time to putz around. They were told by Heidi and Tim to "amaze us" and do what they do best. For some designers, that could be translated into, "Continue to be catty and malicious."

i think, laura's accusations made her look pathetic. she was too busy putting on gaudy beadings and feathers that's why she had a lot of finishing up to do.:yuk:

 That's a good one esile! Her construction is definitely beautiful, but I am not a fan of Laura. :innocent:

I'm not too fond of Laura for stirring up trouble, and feathers/gaudy beads are definitely a good description of her. Lol. But I must say I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far of her collection. It's very sophisticated. Regardless of whether or not she wins, I really do think that she could do well for herself in the future. I think she should market to wealthy older women. i.e. snooty rich ladies. I actually mean that very seriously and respectfully.

^ yeah, agree... there's definitely a market for each one of the designers. again, it all comes down to personal taste. i guess, i could see my 68 y/o mom in laura's clothes. she'd be strutting her stuff in those gaudy beads and feathers too... thinking she's the $h*t!

Very good point Eliza S. Jeffery is a professional with a business to keep running. He has had the experience of having to deliver quality products to demanding clients on deadline. Laura is an amateur. Her experience is puttering on clothes for herself outside the world of commerce and deadlines. I am upset with her for casting shame on Jeffery.

As a side-note of what Eliza S. and Esile said:

One thing Laura mentioned (can't remember if it was in one of the extra video clips on Bravo or where I saw it) but she said she would rather be designing for Park Avenue Princesses because they pay for their clothes, whereas rockstars, movie stars expect everything for free.

I dont know... Usually, I would think that beads and feathers = gaudy. But, somehow, it always looks amazing on Laura's pieces. I love her style. Beautiful, chic, expensive.

Did anyone else know Jeffrey and Santino are very good friends? And Santino was his inspiration to go on the show?

In regards to Jeffreys collection, I didnt see the inspiration AT ALL. I didnt see the colors, the draping, anything remotely Japanese about it. It was more sideshow couture than anything else. If it was cohesive to him those drugs took a major toll. I was thiking, Jeffrey was saying how he wsa designing a line for Cosa Nostra in addition to his Project Runway line, now Im completely sure he didn't have enough time...

I love how Michael was like "my collection is nasty" I thought "You have no idea"

I am far from being advanced in sewing and construction but I am pretty sure I can make 8-12pieces in 2months. I think that they had enough time if they used it well they could come up with very inspiring concepts. But no one did Jeff is great and very egy he will do well in Japan and Eu and everyone knows the U.S. just follows, Laura has her area of focas as well but how long will that last is it too one dimensional. Besides you can only do embelishment so much before you realize it is just the same tunic dress in another color or fabric. Uli will do well amoungst the chic and bohemian crowd and I think her style is fitting for her personality and whee she is located. She will be a success and is the most marketable for this current springsummer07 season too me. Michael highly disapointed me and I wish not to leave a comment on him, he had it in his grasp but he choked i think he should intern for someone and then branch out later on his maturity level in his work has not caught up with his talent. When to 2 collide I think he will be a major sucess. He just needs a little fine tuning. I hope Jeff wins.....

so true
