Project Runway Season 3

I thought all of this week's designs were dreadful. Ok, Keith/Alison/Jeffrey's looked hip, but you'd never see something like that at Macy's. Maybe only in the junior's department. Angela got completely saved by her teammates. Not just because Laura kept her from sticking those damm rosettes all over the place (I swear Angela likes those just because she's excited she knows how to make them), but also because Michael and Laura are fabulous at construction. Heidi kept saying how expensive it looked. Imagine that design with Angela's execution, it would never have come out that refined and well tailored. But still, the cut-off jacket made me want to gag, but then again, it's perfect for INC and Macy's. Robert's was a joke. Come on, what woman above the age of 15 wears a shirt cut-off like that when wearing something supposedly elegant like a skirt and collared shirt? Bonnie's was the least offensive to me, but that only means it was the most boring. I didn't get why her model never took off the coat, it was like Bonnie wanted to hide her work.

Can anyone find me a picture of the back of Robert's dress from episode 1? I am in the middle of ripping apart some of my clothes to make them new and wanted to use the same kind of backing he used, on this cute vintage dress I got. Much appreciated!

And regarding how Angela dresses, remember the pee stain pants? Did anyone see her today in similar pants, except with a funky pattern sewn into the crotch area instead? :yuk: :yuk:

i dont have a view of the back though. i think that was the best part of the dress.

At first I thought that all our predictions were going to be incorrect. I thought Keith would get kicked out for asking for a discount at Mood when I saw that scene - that gave his team a bigger advantage because they got to buy more expensive fabric for less (but I guess anyone could have asked for the discount). In the end I ended up feeling sorry for Keith - I thought he was going to cry :(

P.S. I don't know why but I'm developing a small crush on Jeffrey - Is that weird?

Looks like Jeffrey really shows his true colors next week. I think he totally overrates himself.

Hahaha when I saw those pants I laughed so hard! Why can't she just wear normal pants?!

I'm pretty glad to see Bonnie gone. She's just too forgetable; she didn't make a big enough ripple in the pond (for me, anyway).

Keith... what a jerk! Between going over budget, sneaking in pattern-making books, giving all the work to your "teammates" so you can kick back and relax, and leaving the set for hours on end to use the Internets? And that was just THIS ONE episode!! How much of an *** can you be to the people who have given you such a great opportunity? Golly!

Still.. can't wait for next week!

I saw that too!!! they looked like normal (for Angela) pants in the front, then she turned around and BAM polka dots or something sewn into the back, i was like WHATTTTT????

I didn't really care for anything this week except Alison's skinny jeans and the jersey trench coat-ish thing that they made. So basically,i think Alison/Jeffrey's team should have won.

As I said in a previous post, the elimination of Keith was so boring. It was over a book! Yes, it shouldn't have been there, and that combined with his now well publicized copies of his sketches, he deserved to be let go.

I didn't get Robert's coat, it was cinched, white and sporty. very...80's?? And the rest was just WIERD. The top with the collar in that flowy fabric. Plus, the slit in the back was a litttttlee creepy.

I thought Angela's looked VERY good for it being her design. I think that Laura and Michael had alot to do with it. The pants were tailored and professional, and the jacket had structure. I have a feeling if Angela had executed it, it would have been very flimsy and fake looking. The whole thing with the rosettes being her "signature" is something she came up with in her own little world. The rosettes being on the back of the collar was lame.

What's up with next week and the models scrambling for photographs??

Oh...P.S. I watched this episode with my mom and at the end when it was like "go to macys.com and sign up for a chance to win a shopping spree with Angela!!!!!!!!" my mom and I looked at each other and had the WTF look on our faces. I immediatly said "I'll take the money and the clothes, but I'd leave Angela in the cab." haha

I can't wait for next week's episode. Modern makeovers for fashion icons such as Jackie O, Madonna, Twiggy etc...It's going to be fun.

I miss Santino's sense of humor...(I know, I know - but he was hilarious!)

Santino was funny. I loved his Tim impressions. Especially when he made up that thing about Tim and Andre going to Red Lobster.

lol yeah that was hysterical... I miss Santino too. He's the guy you love to hate... :D

i like santino too! anyway, this episode is not that interesting. the challenge was interesting and very promising but the end results were quite disappointing. angela was a team leader (i personally think michael and laura were the ones who "saved" her.). and those rosettes! how old is she? bradley was picked last. keith's gone. i'm in the minority but i iked him. i just wish his arrogance didn't get the best of him. i didn't like the way people chastised him and i'm glad he himself apologized. rules are rules though and i agree that it'd be unfair to the other contestants who abide by them. really disappointed! anyway, i love bradley, alison and michael from this point. hope one of them wins or all three show in ny fashion week. so now, who's going to be the next villain? from this episode, jeffrey fits that mold. i have a certain disdain for him. his arrogance is definitely on par with keith's (only i liked the latter better). robert's team's look was boring. so much for his teaming with kayne. it got tired so quickly (or maybe it's vincent's vibe). and kayne wasn't pleasant this week. a little too righteous. bonnie's team's work speaks for itself. i liked the top two looks but i thought alison's deserved to win more than the other. it reminded me just a bit of helmut lang. very sophisticated and clean yet edgy. angela's team's look was very well done but those cropped jackets have been done so many times. can't wait for next week's episode.

*goodbye "big bag 'o skittles. pink, purple and... scary" keith. soo sad he's gone. i feel sorry for him and what he said before he left was quite emotional. i'd rather have him remain than angela or vincent. really liked him! oh well, it's done. i wish him well.

Keith was wrong... but I really wish Kayne had gone and talked to him privately instead of going straight to the producers. That was harsh.

i agree. the producers would have known anyway so i don't understand the whole debacle made out of it. and when keith apologized, kayne was less than satisfied. he (kayne) was disappointing in my opinion. i'll miss keith! i thought he was real despite his arrogance. better those things are blatantly shown than pretending to be something you're not (i.e. wendy from season 1 . she said she saw herself as a mother figure and was very comforting to the other designers during the first episodes of the show).i personally thought keith's comments about winning and his arrogance were harmless and he did show some talent and skills. and i also thought he was compassionate towards bradley and he has had some funny moments. ugh! anyway, the next episode should be interesting. i wonder which icons are going to be "revamped." :flower:

Blame the Rosettes

THE paradox of reality television is that reality is changing to fit the picture on TV.

Last night on “Project Runway,” Bravo’s fashion designer face-off, the contestant who was cast as a manipulative, misguided villain came out on
top in a challenge to design a career look that could be sold at Macy’s, a participant in the episode. In the real world it is not so easy for a designer to break into a major department store, but this morning Macy’s will begin selling the winning outfit under its INC label in 57 stores and on macys.com.

Overnight, Angela Keslar went from being the “Project Runway” candidate most likely not to succeed to one with national distribution. “It felt like I was redeemed as a person and a designer, Ms. Keslar said. “I got to show who Angela was as a leader, as a designer and as a person.”

Of course, the show is a reflection of the enormous interest in the fashion industry, and Macy’s executives believe that its popularity with viewers will introduce them to the store just when the Macy’s name is replacing hundreds of regional department stores in malls around the country.

“This was the perfect time to align ourselves and our brand with this show,” said Janet Grove, the chief executive of Macy’s Merchandising Group. This fall “Project Runway” personalities will start a tour of Macy’s stores, similar to the concert series put on by the finalists from “American Idol,” only they will hold up clothes.

In the meantime shoppers can buy Ms. Keslar’s design, which consists of a cropped jacket trimmed with gunmetal satin rosettes for $129, a long-sleeve T-shirt for $39 and gray trousers trimmed with more rosettes for $89.

Ms. Keslar said she felt vindicated that what put her design over the top were the rosettes, the signature trim derided by fellow contestants and even by a teammate, the grand Laura Bennett, who was shown in previews for the episode saying, “We obviously can’t save her from herself.”

“Most of the designers thought I was Wackville Central,” Ms. Keslar said, “which is funny because I sell a lot of my accessories to people who really appreciate them.”

Angela's design looked better on Project Runway; It looks rather plain in the NY Times picture.

Sorry but Keith did brought it upon himself. Having pattern books, The Fashion Book, leaving the apartment and using the internet are against the rules, so adios Keith.

Kayne was surprisingly bitchy. I wouldnt want to run into him in a neon lit alley...

does anyone else really dislike angela? i think she has awful taste. i can't believe she won.
Yes! Laura and Michael basically saved the whole outfit without them it would've been tacky craft work part II. So I guess Angela is the new cockroach like Wendy Pepper.
