Project Runway Season 3

Laura popped so fast....
in next weeks ep. is seems as though she has a small bump.... adorable PR baby!

I am glad Angela was let go...
I couldn't take this show seriously anymore if they kept a grown woman who put flourshans on her bum!!

I agree. Their criticisim on her lack a verastility was ill timed. She designed the dress for herself and her taste. I also thought it was a bit contradictory to say that it was not a jetsetter outfit because they could only see it in LA, Miami, the South of France, etc....how do they think Uli would get to all those places...by boat? :p Just bacause it is not NY-Paris jetset, does not mean it is not jet set...just my 2 cents :)

I agree. I think the whole concept of jetset was kind of lost. Uli came from Miami (not originally of course but that's where she lives) and in Miami, if they are going to "jetset" it could be to the Caribbean or to South America, Mexico. Any of those places. And for her dress to work in those places as well as in LA or Hawaii it think makes it versatile. The judges are centered in New York and were thinking of what New Yorker's would think. Given that the creative director for Calvin K. was there, he was thinking in the Calvin aesthetic, darks and classic. And Michael Kors seems to stick to the browns, whites, darks, neutrals. So...I think that the judges idea of Jetset and the contestants idea of jetset was very different.

I think Laura did great on the challenge, probably because she has the best personal style in the group... ( loved that trench coat thing she was wearing). I think Angela is a strong designer, but her lack of style, made designer something for herself very difficult.

^^I agree, the criteria was a little foggy. Was this an outfit that should transition from day to night AND place to place? I doubt that the outfits "jetsetters" wear on the plane and at a party later are the same, and as you pointed out, different styles of clothing are acceptable at different places.

I know! I also tent to bring comfy/sleepware type clothing in my carry on to change in and out of when I travel overseas

PR pulled an America's Next Top Model! Traveling to Paris was a surprise. Glad Angela is gone, hopefully Vincent is next.

Could anyone understand what the next challenge has to do with? I was in a room with a bunch of chatty girls, and I missed the preview!!

I watched it again this morning and I thought she said they were going to a party.

On Tim's podcast, he said he was surprised that the designers did not ask more questions. Maybe he thought a lot would be cleared up prior to sketching, through their opportunities to ask questions. But it didn't happen.

Although Angela was not my fave, I did feel badly when she was sent home.

I was glad Jeffrey won a challenge. His smile was so pure. I think people misunderstand him. Many people who have been through rehab, etc., speak very directly and what is on their minds, IMO.

And, I must add, I have always liked Michael but he wasn't my clear-cut favorite. I haven't had a favorite this season, unlike last season when I was pulling for Nick and Daniel V the entire season.

But last night Michael won me over big-time. His genuine smile when Jeffrey won, the way he worked with Kayne modeling, his interactions with others. He consistently shows his true colors week-in and week-out when Tim Gunn arrives at his work station, gives Michael food for thought, and then he listens, digests, reacts and redesigns on the fly.

Tim makes Michael question himself and makes him work even harder. The way he accepts input and then springs forward with the few words Tim Gunn gives him, has endeared himself to me.

I love him now more than ever and will be rooting for him all the way. I have not had a favorite: but Michael is now my main man.

i liked last night's episode. the previous 2 were disappointing to me. i was happy that they finally auf'd angela. i thought she deserves to be gone looong ago. jeffery's jetsetter outfit, i dont particularly like cause that's just not me, but i thought that it suited him well. it's his look that's for sure. i agreed with heidi being the clothes looks much more expensive than 75 bucks. it really doesn't look cheap. even though it looks dark and sort of trashy .. these clothes are usually expensive. kayne's elvis outfit was hilarious. and michael is michael .. it's comfortable and looks well on him.

So I was right about Parson's Paris, and I was right about Angela.

Although I didn't like Jeffrey's over-all garment, I would kill to have a shrunken blazer version of the jacket he made. It would look fab with a pair of drainpipe jeans and some black patent leather Louboutin Bruges.

I've also realized, that although I really adore Kayne, it is much more as a personality than a designer. I just don't think he's ready for his own line. Perhaps he could end up designing for a major house ala Marc Jacob's start at Perry Ellis? That way he could still be given some direction while he refines his own design.

Not that I agree with it, but I'm starting to feel as if the top three will be Michael, Laura, and Vincent. Jeffrey cannot make anything unless it's deconstructed rock chic, which I feel is going to eliminate him. And Kayne has a chance, but he really needs to step up to the plate. He needs to follow Coco Chanel's rule of stopping and taking a look at yourself, and immediately removing one item before you leave the house.

For anyone who felt bad for Angela having to fly back immediately, Tim said on his podcast she spent the night in a Paris hotel.

^^Thanks for clarifying that. And her exit interview on bravo was very refreshing. She seemed at peace with it all and was just thrilled to experience the PR ride. I also thought she looked really nice with straight hair. :)

:flower::flower:Agreed totally!! When Michael was helping Kayne with his walk, I thought it was soo sweet because all the other designers have bad vibes with one another. Michael stays out of the drama and is helpful and I agree that he truly does seem genuinely happy for the other winners. :D

and also I just think Michael is the most versatile designer. Any theme, he makes a great outfit. He thinks about the details and he has SUCH a wide range! Many of the contestants are/were great desginers but I think Michael is the only one who is so incredibly versatile and who has an artistic vision which is different from their personal style which says a lot imo! :)

Angelas outfit was TOO MUCH. The clothes already had way too many details + it she was overaccessorized. Yuk! I'm glad that "new age" hippy is finally gone.
Michaels shirt was I guess, okay...but the pants... eww. I hated the striped fabric + straps are so gross.

Finally, I mean FINALLY Jeffrey won. His outfit was absolutely the best one and most belieavable. It was so well made, I mean, the pants were made from such comfortable material, the shirt seemed also comfy and the jacket. It looked so good. I mean, he could go anywhere with it and it would be great.
His sewing skills impress me so much (because I guess he started designing quite lately as I understood from the previous episode and bonus video at bravo.com). He made so much with such a little time.

When we had seen the preview of the next episode, my friend thought that they will have an assignment to make an outfit for a photoshoot or something like that. They were walking around there and like looking for some spot or something. It would be a cool task.
Jeffreys dress seemed so cool ^_^

I think Jeffrey's outfit was definately the best (a bit dior hommeish silhouette), so he deserved to win this time. I also liked Lauras, very classy although the cut around her chest made it look a bit like one boob was hanging lower(?). Maybe that was just how it was tied. Anyway, a nice dress indeed and it was in excellent condition after the long trip as well as was Jeffrey's. Ive travelled many times in skinny jeans and its not been a problem even on 13 hour flights hehhee. Well done. Vincent's design reminded of Ralph Lauren/Hugo Boss clean cut older man's outfit, I could see him wearing it. It was safe choice though. Michael's squid pants would have been nicer without the ribbons, it reminded me of something ravers wore few years back. Yuck! The cut of the shirt was nice though. Angela deserved to go home, her outfit was just a mess. Kayne's outfit was just fugly.. the butterfly would have been nice but the cut of the shirt and the pants was so Elvis, like the judges said. Ewwwww...Uli's outfit was very Uli but when the judges say they wanna see something more, I agreed. I thought, ok the dress was nice but we have seen this same dress so many times already on the other challenges.

I laughed out loud when Jeffrey made the comment about Angela being arts and craftsy macaroni gluer. I know its mean and I feel bad for Angela, but come on, that was just so funny! :D

I didn't think that they give immunity as a price anymore but it turnued out they do after all (bonus videos). So Jeffrey is safe for the next one (which he doesn't need probably).
My guess is that the final three are Laura, Michael and Jeffrey since Vincent making it to the finalists SHOULD obviously be out of the question and Uli makes the same dress in different variations at every challenge.

ok i have to say yesterday was a cool challenge to wat they have been doing...i do think jeff was an ***hole but im sure angela n her mom had a plan to just make that challenge hell to him.....ok,,,enuff but then it gets me mad how much of an ***hole jeffrey is he just keeps going n going more like a seven year old rather than the should i even say grown man .? ...anyways...i think laura or michael should have won..laura had a very nice dress although i wouldve maybe liked to c her in a better color...as to mikael i would buy those pants n the shirt if i saw it in a store cuz that definitly looks awsome although i wouldve liked it not to be all white could have ad some colors to pop a bit....im sure if he made a women version of the design it would have been hot as well..ulie had a nice dress but like kors said weve seen u do this but what can you do besides it....thats one thing im hopin to see,,,great talent tho a very nice gown it was...vincent had a nice shirt tho plain n simple im sure the calvin klein guest judge liked it more because its simple n sophisticated as the CK brand...OMG KANE wtf? hes so talented and does amazing evening wear but hes just been sinkin, the mom thing was wack lookd more like jc penny clothing, the recycle paper chllenge a halloween disaster, and yesterday a cheap elvis look....and to call the fabric versace like...woah buddy ...versace could have made that print work in an amazing gown ... shes got style....hoping he does good tho....jeffrey had a good astetic to what he was doing but the way i see it that has been done is nothing new to fashion, is been on and i probably liked the jacket n thats it....the pants lookd lame i mean he probably has some leg to show but not everyone can work em...tho i like how the purple added the punkish look to it...what an episode pretty good but still hopin to c something diferent :)
