Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons for H&M Designer Collection

I didn't take a day off from work.. I work at night:D

And I was offered 2 dresses, so I took them. I was surprised at the quality, it was actually decent. I'm not planning to sell them on ebay and I have a job so I don't understand why you assume that if someone buys more than 2 pieces is to sell on ebay. The holidays are coming up and people give them as gifts. I did that with a couple of those silk dresses form the V&R collection.

Plus, you wouldn't believe the amount of editors that were watching the coat dress like hawks..they really wanted it too!

I expected more people at the flagship store, but I was surprised. PLUS there were more MEN than women waiting. This line wasn't nearly as long as the KL or from what I heard the Cavalli collection which puts all these collections to shame the antics that people witnessed that day.
God, the Cavalli collection. Don't remind me  People buying six of all the show pieces to sell for 4 or 5 times the price...sickening.

They had plenty of the men's stuff for me though.

I'm actually really glad there wasn't anything I wanted from this collaboration. Too scary, and so not worth it unless there was something you were dying for.

I wonder if anything is left in the stores where I live^^ I'll have to check tomorrow

^^ I just checked, I haven't seen anything on ebay yet.

BUT WAIT!! Here is my story of INJUSTICE and how H&M REVERSED my fortune!!

So, I decided to head over to the flagship store at midnight just to get THAT dress.
I was thr 5th person to show up. People started to show up around 5AM and everyone was clamoring to see how many dresses were available to snatch.

When the manager came out to tell us that there are only 5 dresses being sold in the EAST COAST ALONE, all of us were excited because we were the first 5. The 4 people before me were there since 10:30 PM!!

While the manger was explaining this to us, a woman who was obviously in REAL CDG was livid. She thought that there were going to be about 230 pieces and she didn't know that there were only 11 is the US ALONE let alone just 5 for the EAST Coast. And she walks onto the line around 7am. So we find out she's friends with the press from CDG and she starts making requests to be snuck in from the side door to get the dress.

The girl who was first got wind of it and she confronted the woman telling her that we waited inline for so long, only we are getting the dress. She just flipped her hair and walked away.

Come opening time, we see her trying to get into the store as press only to be rejected. As the girl starts running to get the dress for all of us, the girl comes in from thew side door and grabs a couple dresses. I was screaming at the top of my lungs about this and I ran after her and I was about to disfigure her face, but security held me back.

The NY Daily News photog was taking pics of me in my rage and I went straight to the top and said, " You better fix this or we're going to have a HUGE PR problem, much bigger than the one you have right now." So I meet with a PR person, who was very lovely and I explained my situation. I was only there to get that dress. ONLY that dress and I was empty handed because of some sleazy as* SH*t that this woman was pulling. So I told her, " I will get the press involved in this and make a big stink about this until you do something for me. Sell me the one on the mannequin, I'm not going home empty handed. This was a huge blunder on your part, and the part of security and a bunch of people are livid because of this". She told me not to worry. She said I can have whatever I want, INCLUDING the dress from the sale for FREE.
I was escorted to there showroom by her lovely collegue and I was shown around the place and I saw the upcoming spring line as well as some pieces that are going to be in stores for the holiday season (including a leather babydoll dress that is TDF). And so he came out with what i asked for, I tried them on and I ended up getting 2 SAMPLES OF THAT DRESS and a wallet, plus discount cards for FREE.

Usually, I don't get worked up over stuff like this, but the way it went down was so infuriating, that I had to make sure I had the last laugh. And I did!

I must say that H&M really took care of me in ways I never expected would happen especially during the mayhem that was going on at the flagship store. They took me aside, calmed me down and offered to make it up to me and it was completely thankful for their generosity and kindness, because they could've easily said, "Oh well, too bad." but they didn't. I will never look at H&M the same ever again.

i think its good that you complained about this.

i believe that H&M likes to encourage the excessive lines and general mayhem...

they want to get on the evening news and its great publicity for them if people are fighting over objects. it makes the items in the store "DESIRABLE".

If all this mayhem brings unhappy customers, they need to deal with this to. they need to take the bad with the "good" so to speak.

i also think people in NY need to complain to the city/police about H&M encouraging people crowding ,camping out overnight lines etc. because it costs taxpayer money and diverts the police away from other important issues!

I went to the Toronto store and waited in chilly rain for an hour and a half and pretty much froze my toes. Which is probably why I was intent on buying something to get something out of my suffering. I went to the smaller H&M so the line wasn't too long, and the people weren't too pushy. But people grabbed stuff at lighting speed, and in about 2 minutes all the good pieces were gone. I got two white shirts (ruffles one and a basic one) and got out of there in about 20 min, and by then only the basic sweaters and button up shirts were left...

Bloor Street?

I find it disgusting how people can do THAT over a frikkin polka dot scarf. It's horrible. I mean at the end of the day it's only clothes. And tbh I don't get how the scarf sold out that quickly, it's only a scarf with dots on and it's really overpriced compared to the rest of the collection!

Yeah the smallest is a US4 which is realy annoying as the skirts are way too big :/

I wonder how was the reception in London. After watching those vid, I have the feeling a lot of the customers are buying in order to resell....so everyone ends up the winner. Biggest loser are they one paying huge price on eBay.

i think they should have changed the color scheme of the polka dot women items to orange and white and marketed the collection to clowns. ;)

i wanted to check on the french ebay ....
and we have some stuff as well .... but they are the same price than in shops ....

EDIT : one H&M CDG sort of converse pair of shoes with the dots is sold 50€ on ebay.fr and a Zizi CDG for Repetto is sold .... same price ... who is enough crazy not to buy the Zizi ???!!!

Well the manager mentioned that there were only 20 of that particular scarf, so I guess that might be it, but I passed on it..

^which shows again that being loud and threatening is a good thing :D

super duper congrats to that! (and i rarely congratulate )

Oh, I was raising h*ll, and the PR people haven't finished their interviews and here I am in the background screaming and shouting..they had to take care of me FAST.

I got to the SF store at 8.30 to find a line that wrapped around the block and a bit more. I really wanted those drop crotch pants, but felt like i wasn't going to get them because of all the creatures that were there.

Come opening, people run in, and all hell breaks lose, the racks were BARREN within 15 minutes and the employees moved in the original display. BUT, wise @ss me beelined to the fits to bottom feed. And feed i did, i got my pants, as well as two coats. Only i got a size ten because my friend wanted the smaller size. Funny thing is though, a majority of the people there[ready for the elitism?] didnt even look like they could pull a majority of the line Large women with said pants in size 8 when they are clearly a 14, and old man with a pair of jodhpurs, and this girl who was like 12 with that almost two-piece looking dress.

oh, i forgot to mention. I was talking to the manager, and she said that there were only 10 of those Lolita dresses in the US and the SF store had 5. I've been hearing different numbers[11, 12, 15,]. Out of curiosity, does anyone know?
mayhem, mayhem, mayhem.

i went to powell st. in san francisco this morning around 10:30, and the only thing left were button down shirts and knit crewnecks...
tons of people were literally bogged down carrying all of their stuff around...
then they would go in a corner and trade with others...
it was frustrating because you had people walking around basically waiting for someone to put something down...

one guy put down the wool v-neck cardigan and i snatched it up, but i have so many black cardigans that i gave it to a girl in line...

I work near the H&M on Michigan Ave. and I walked in at 9:15am to see if there was anything left. They had a handful of clothes left but it was the basics. The SAs were telling me that people were waiting in line as early as 4:30am!!! If there was an item limit I didn't see it being enforced because I saw people buying lots of multiples.

That's insane! I came here to see how the response was at the Chicago store. I honestly wasn't expecting to hear anything like that.

mayhem, mayhem, mayhem.

I was told 11, 6 on the west ( san fran store), 5 on the east (5th ave)

It's really sad, because most of these people probably lined up for that Lolita dress and H&M made it think it was going to be in every store, and they weren't.
