Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons for H&M Designer Collection

I really don't get the deal with the black and the pink shirts..they're just plain and so overpriced...

there's still a good bit left at the Viennese Graben store. lots of trenches, shirts, coats, suits, dresses, etc. i was surprised that for women, the trenches were only left in small sizes, the big sizes were all gone.

i tried on both the women and men trench and was seriously disappointed. few years ago i tried on the V&R trench for men and it was close to perfect. removable lining, lots of detailing, firm fabric, well finished seams, etc etc.

now, for the same price, the CdG trench was just underwhelming. even last year's Cavalli trench was better, mostly because of the details.

Grr I was one of the first ten people in line (I arrived at the Lexington one @ 6am, this is my first time going to a h&m collaboration and I took heed when educo said she was successful w/ Cavalli at that store, I'm happy I did. None of the items I wanted were exclusive anyway. And CONGRATS educo on your victory, that was frkng awesome what you did :woot: I look up to your justness haha )
I took one second to just get a size 2 of the dark blue big polkadot button down that was the closest to the entrance, and all of the pants practically vanished and people were everywhere it's like they were never stocked. But I guess I was lucky to find a pair of the jodphurs and the long dropcrotch pant lying in a random spot as size 6 and 4...which I typically fit, but those were not that fitted on me and how I ohhh so wished for smaller so that the style could fit me better because I'm a shorrrrt 5'2! I plan to get the ones I have alternated..if it's even possible.

I was considering getting those big polkadot wool cardigans, but 69.90 for that?? It wasn't even that good I was disappointed in its quality and everything and yet so expensive, for a frgn cardigan that is capable of just making you look like an old lady...

I went to the flagship. it was fine. i got there at 7am, chatted with some lovely ladies until it opened, got a deconstructed jacket, a deconstructed pleated skirt and 2 of the cardigans. i didn't get the scarf, they were gone. it wasn't terrible, just crowded. It wasn't horrendous like the Cavalli scene. yikes. And later today i saw there are still all the polka-dot stuff in the store and the trenches. The only things gone were the bottoms and accessories.

i was there too!

i was at the eaton centre location!

I was at the Bloor location. I read your post about how you weren't able to get the drop-crotch pants you wanted. :( I don't think the Bloor store hand any women's pants at all (either that or people took them all, but I was about 25-30th person in line). Did they run out of the pants so fast at Eaton? How many pieces of each style did they have in stock? The employees at Bloor were acutally reinforcing the 2 pieces per style rule, but the stuff still went off the racks really fast.

i just got home and i told my mom how the h&m store was here in LA since she went to buy me the things i wanted since i was at school and i was soooo dissapointed with what she told me. She told me that there was a huge line and that by the time she got in she didn't see any of the things i wanted. I trust her but i have this feeling that she was looking in the wrong place. ugh i think i might go later with my sis. does anyone know, here in los angeles, if some stores still have some of the goods? i really wanted some of the polka dot peices, the color blocked sweater, the scarf, and others

Funny thing is though, a majority of the people there[ready for the elitism?] didnt even look like they could pull a majority of the line Large women with said pants in size 8 when they are clearly a 14, and old man with a pair of jodhpurs, and this girl who was like 12 with that almost two-piece looking dress.

oh, i forgot to mention. I was talking to the manager, and she said that there were only 10 of those Lolita dresses in the US and the SF store had 5. I've been hearing different numbers[11, 12, 15,]. Out of curiosity, does anyone know?
mayhem, mayhem, mayhem.

it's people like that that i hate sooooo much!!! i mean cmon can you atleast be considerate of the other's who would LOVE to own something from this collection. But i also could be wrong though cause my mom went for me so maybe they're just mothers shopping there for their teenage kid/kids

There are still come drop crutch pants left on the site^^ At least the norwegian one^^

Even though H&M is 20 mins away and this was my day off, I still didn't bother getting out of bed. This collab is so not interesting. I'll have a look tomorrow, but CdG does nothing for me, I don't have great expectations.

nope they're wiped out. my friend and i went to both... we got to the h&m on sunset at around 9:15 and it was a mad house, completely packed and hardly anything left, so we went to the beverly center. we got there at like 9:30 and we thought we'd have a chance because we thought the store opened at 10, but it opened at 9, and everything was practially gone aside from 4 of the basic button ups. :( one of the sales associates said everything was gone within 10 minutes and really only the first dozen people got any of the good stuff. people had mountains of the cdg stuff in their arms and like everyone said, i really don't think they were enforcing that "buy only 2 of each item" rule.

btw are you guys sure that sf had 6 of the coat dresses? because one of the associates at the beverly center said they had 2 of them.

thanks for the help. idk i know this sounds dumb but i want to go to either store and just see if anyone returned things. i was on racked.com and they were saying how they went early to one of the stores and everything was gone but they went later aat the same store and there was some good stuff there

Ugh...disgusting.

I wanted to buy the polka dot menswear pieces, especially the button up shirt...but the idea of standing in line and then running around the store like a crazy person fighting with other people to get my hands on a shirt is DISGUSTING.

Seriously, what is wrong with...
1. H&M for letting the collection sell out in 10 minutes...it's insane and it's really just mean. Why can't the collection be in stores for a month? I just don't get it...it's not like it WON'T sell....
2. Customers for acting like rabid animals running around a store grabbing everything they can get their hands on...I'd be so ashamed of myself if I was there with them acting the same way.

i agree with you. it's soo not fair. i meam isn't the purpose of a designer collaboration collection to sell to the tons of people who can't afford this? one day isn't enough. Seriously can't they restock more of it? if they can restock their other horrible items then i'm sure they can restock this aswell. Plus on a thursday? don't they know people have priorities. btw wouldn't it be smart to have more of the items. i mean look how much of has sold out......imagine more the items? more money no?

^^Exactly...Apparently "democratic design" is reserved for those without a day job and a sense of self decorum.

There were definitely pants (at least the drop crotch ones) at Bloor. I saw them myself. I saw a few returned to the racks right before I went to the fitting rooms. That would have been around 10:40.
