I just returned from the HM Comme des Garcons launch... the store was chaotic! People were literally fighting over a polka dot shirt. From what I saw, the collection is quite mundane... I bought a shirt that is less plain, but even that one is a rip-off from Marc by Marc Jacobs. (Of course it is going to pay dividends later on ebay)

People were queueing up since morning, the good ones are gone! The sales even said the stock would only last till evening max.

it just bewilders me the hype this has been. i know we predicted a less than genuine following but i am appalled. celebs(and others)who are otherwise really not comme fans nor comme types--sorry to sound a bit snobby,but seriously,all of these generics...??? it is indeed so obvious that mischa barton has never worn cdg. i mean where are all the interesting,real fans in the midst of this sea of tripe?

I just woke up cause I got a text from my Mom.
I currently live in the UK, and the city that I'm in didnt get the line, so I asked my Mom to get me stuff in the store in our city in Norway.
Surprisingly, there were not a lot of people, but those who were there new exactly what they were supposed to get, aka fans or hardcore fashionistas.
She got all the four items that I wanted, the trench coat, the polkadot scarf, the hat and the fragrance. My mom was very proud of herself as she got the polkadot scarf and SO many of the people wanted it in the store. *Gooooood Mommy* I'm so proud of her and I can't wait to get home for XMAS

its probably going to be same proceedure as always in the Scandinavian stores, H&M being Swedish.. the Nordic countries are favored..
I don't recall with any of the collections that there should have been a reduction in the number of stores that carried it.

I only bought a plain white mens shirt, it was ok..probably a bit better than the usual HM quality...Other than that I bought a black wool mens cardi, it was really nice..but the wool sweaters were just BS..I mean they just look like the shirts you by in sports shops or something that you wear when you're going out in the winter..

I went 15 minutes before opening - I was #20 in line ..and by the time the store opened there were approx 50 ppl in line..

Mind you this is a H&M store without the jacketdress and not the full mens line..

I wanted :

to try the perfume - hated it - heavy patoulie and cedar..
the polka dotted bag for my daughter - too big for her at 3 years of age.. and really nothing special
I tried on the polka dotted cardigans and the dotted shirt.. and as a previous poster mentioned.. they were rather mundane..and the quality was nothing special (well maybe for H&M but other than that..)
I didn't like the zipper jacket on print.. but liked it up close.. but they only had a few of those.. and by the time I got around to looking at it there was only size 34 left (size 0-2 US).
I wanted the mens suit w. the stripe across the chest for my husband, but they didn't carry it.

So I didn't get anything..and I don't really mind...because I didn't stand in line that much.. and afterwards I found a great top at Zara which I love.. so going out was not in vain after all..

I didn't want to get any of the polka dotted stuff..it's not like you're going to be the only one on the street wearing it when you go out...and yeah the quality of the shirts were just plain..

Saw a small queue outside a H&M store early this morning when I went with the tram, hehe, always the same. The collection is quite okay, but not the most interesting H&M had. Dots are cool, but i prefer stripes.

Hi!

Report from Helsinki;

People started to waiting in line about half hour before opening. When door opened there was a total chaos, people rushing on rails and it took about 10 minutes and almost all clothes were gone!!!

I got black ruffled wool jacket and pleated skirt to "match",
black plimsoles with white polkadots and
fragrance.
And also a blue dotted grey polo shirt for my husband.

After all I got almost all I really wanted, I was so lucky - so I have to be very happy!!!
I have to decide if I still need something from their webshop next night - although I think it is almost impossible to get thru...
