I really like some of this, but that shark T-shirt is so stupid. I want a lot of this, though.

no more dogs then, now he dove into the sea? it looks same old same old so far.

are those preview shots legal?

i have a feeling that we're not supposed to be seeing them now already

^ I think so, to make you to feel crazy, after rottweilers and birds of paradise. I know those photos from one month ago.

That shearling coat is beautiful, and I want to say I'm getting tired of these printed pieces but I love the idea of it being sharks  The spring collection was a disaster to me but this looks nice ^_^

Wasn't the women's spring line marine-themed? It seems odd of Riccardo to have the menswear suddenly a season behind... (And this is even before mentioning how gimmicky these motifs are getting.)

LOVE! I feel bad that someone could be soo unprofessionals as so take shots during fittings before the presentation........on the other hand Im exited!

Givenchy is pure gimmicks nowadays. Riccardo relies heavily on prints and I've had enough about it. I loved Givenchy, but now it seems all Riccardo cares is publicity and association with celebrities. He thinks he can get away with covetable prints and forget about actual designs. Worked for a season, but now the house of Givenchy is just tedious and tiresome.

Also, Ricky did sharks for Fall 09 as prints. Rather disappointed he's revisiting the same damn theme for a second time. The previews are anything but interesting.

Hard for me to say this, as a die hard Riccardo/Givenchy fan, but I'm losing love for both.

well, he found something that sells and makes a lot of money. i think a t-shirt with that birds of paradise print from S/S 12 sells for $700? that's a LOT of money for a cotton t-shirt, where the production wouldn't even cost $50, let be real about that.

I was not talking about profit. So a popular tee that costs $700 justifies the lack of designing? I don't think so. Also, the ever so popular Rottweiler tee was only $250. Clearly, it's not about profit > design.

I disagree completely Ives927, Riccardo has done some AMAZING clothing in these last few seasons especially for men, just like every other designer or House he has a BREAD & BUTTER item of special value because i usually sells out. His Special Graphic Tee's are Givenchy Menswear's LV Bags, when ppl are wearing them in the street is also provides press for the Brand because everyone wants to know where'd you get it from and where can I get one. Outside the Tee's de does amazing outerwear, Always an amazing shoe, the suits are perfection.....I don't know what more do you need. Theres not much you do in menswear, if its too outrageous, it wont sell, But if he can get rappers to leopard prints, leather pants, skirts, and brightly printed florals and birds he must be doing something right

Givenchy seems to be heading the same way as McQueen... hidden behind gimmick prints and motifs. Riccardo is so much better than that.

Riccardo has done graphic tees since he took over Givenchy menswear in Spring 09, but besides his tee, he always did something I considered as interesting for menswear.

What more can you do with menswear? Look at Rick Owens. He has his very own followings. Let me remind you that Riccardo has done pink suits and see throughout shirts as well as skirts. Outrageousness is not the problem here. The problem I have with Riccardo and Givenchy is his inability to design something fresh and new. He does skirts, tights under shorts and gimmicky prints EVERY season now. I'm a Givenchy customer and I am tired of his tricks. It's become a tideous routine for me. The last great pair of shoes he did was in spring 2010. His best collection remains to be fall 09, in my opinion.

If Riccardo's only reason for designing leopard skirts is to appeal to the Hip Hop community as you say, then he's lost me as a customer. The last thing I want to know is that the label I love is not designing for me, the customer.

riccardo tisci has worked miracles at the house of givenchy. yes, he courts the mainstream with his printed t-shirts and the like, but the true genius comes in his work that bears none of those obvious prints but has the signature of new givenchy none the less. the way he layered those specifically designed pieces during spring/summer 2012 remains one of the high points of mens ready-to-wear.
