He would be perfect for Balenciaga. I don’t know if his version of streetwear is relevant for today but it didn’t seemed dated at Burberry. I think even kids can move on from very oversized silhouettes.
He could bring the chic back to Balenciaga.

I'd be open to it. I think his dark romanticism could be the best transition from Demna's darkness. Also I've missed his haute couture so seeing it again consistently would make me happy.

For a brand like Burberry.. he definitely scaled up people's views on burberry. It only needed time, but his burberry is way more memorable than what lee is offering. Tisci will always do better in a heritage/couture house.

Anyway... my frail heart can't be disappointed again with whatever he is up to. Pls let it be good. Loewe? fendi?

What he proposed for Burberry may not have been relevant for the brand but we can’t say that it was weak.
I prefer a lot of what he did at Burberry than what he did in his last few seasons at Givenchy. FW2015 was his last great collection and SS2016 was like the icing on the cake, almost a farewell. Everything he did after was ok with some isolated glorious moments.

His farewell at Burberry was superior to his last year at Givenchy. And I think the Bambi print was quite fantastic. Maybe the best thing he did at Burberry with those puffer silk scarves.

Actually when you mention it he's street wear looked like billion dollars compared to Demna.

I think he could be great at balenciaga, and its current stores and typography are a nice industrial base to build something more mature in. Im not a huge fan of his work, but he knows his craft and I’m positive he can do something amazing with the archives.

Probably remembered how much work it would be starting his own label, even with all his most exclusive of elite network, and decided to wait for an offer from the mega corporations instead. He’s fizzled out for way too long to be deserving of any hype, frankly.

Olivier Theyskens hustled for Azzaro, and managed to scrape enough to keep his namesake alive and kicking; Phoebe is more hype than creative vision at this point. But good for her to make the effort for her own label rather than rely on LVMH to install her at some old dusty house that’s just ultimately going to push logo’d merch anyway; and Haider may not be worthy to some, since he avoids showpieces/red carpet dressing, but he’s always been consistent with being dedicated to high fashion that’s actually starightup, no nonsense, nonfussy flattering and timeless for its wearer. Other than pent up nostalgia for his Givenchy, what does Riccardo have to offer in 2025 that one can’t get from Olivier/Phoebe/Haider— or 1stdibs??

Well I think we can and, giving how talented Tisci is, should point out how weak his tenure was. He proposed no options for existing clients, he didn’t manage to bring new ones, he proposed no best selling bags and he did not used his influence and relevance of his aesthetics to elevate the brand. He was lazy all along and couldn’t care less about the perception of the brand much less about his own growth.

Prove me wrong but I firmly believe Tisci has nothing to offer and he is no longer capable of running fashion house giving his lifestyle and unhealthy habits preventing him from even visiting the flagship and stand still. 🥴

You are reaching for the stars here hun... Anyone who can do all of that during covid times deserve a nobel peace prize.

He definitely did not alienate anyone with his multi-levelled shows. He wanted to cater to everyone so bad that it became a fault instead of focusing on what he was good at which was always the bougie parts of the shows. He proposed a lot of what could have been new-classics at burberry. If not discontinued a lot of his monogram/logo stuff were still selling after he left. We need to check back where burberry was before tisci when talking elevating..

its not a couture house, its an outerwear brand that tries to cater to every price point. He did the best he could with that brief.

Tisci did definitely the best for a brand in a identity crisis with a very wide clientele.

His Burberry was not his best but definitely not weak.

Surprised to see people genuinely dislike Tiscis Burberry.. i dont know if its me or my perception of whats desirable has changed but when i look back at his burberry collections and RTW in particular i realize that it was alluring and sensible in my opinion. maybe times were different and of course whats fashionable and needed was also different but it definitely wasnt horrific. i also think that campaigns, casting and set and store designs played a huge role (for me anyway)
Tisci was also PRd very well whereas Daniel for example is nowhere to be seen with his cool mates and Bolle

p.s and the non abhorrent prices were also a good thing hence why people were actually buying if not the full look but at least one top or a purse at least so i imagine they had way more VICs back then rather than now

Yes and while he clearly succeeded at couture house he flopped at the mid price outerwear brand. And that’s fine - I’m not sure he is capable of doing anything more but what I’m sure of he won’t get Balenciaga or any other house as he became irrelevant. Shame indeed.
