Roberto Cavalli for H&M

This is beyong insane *lol* I'm wondering if those masses are the reason why I didn't see any Cavalli stuff in the one H&M I visited today

I know that maybe it's too soon but who do you think it's going to do the next collaboration with H&M?

^They should go with Prada. Than I'll even risk going to Amsterdam:D or Alexander Mcqueen:heart:

alexander mcqueen would be AMAZING
i'll stand in line even an entire night for that.
too bad that i missed the viktor and rolf collection. some of the pieces were amazing, but we didnt have an hm yet here. we always get everything late in rome :(

McQueen would be great, but I'll have to resortto some illicit ways of earning money to buy the whole collection :P

i managed to buy a blouse and the necklace....everything was gone soo fast! overall a very disappointing collection, super-tacky looking on many people and not worth the price. i'm just glad with what i have which looks really nice.

i dont think H&M's investors are going to be too pleased with the results. first, the collection is in only 200 stores. there arent that many items to go around. madonna's designers were in pretty much ALL H&M stores and that increased store sales that month by 11%.

and i also think that having these crowds in only a select few stores creates a legal liability for people to get hurt. there were a lot of fights at the NYC flagship store this morning.

it seems like H&M is encouraging the fights and mayhem. there is no way there are enough guards to stop this from happening.

i hate it when retailers try to degrade consumers this way. its embarassing.

Cavalli's H&M collection sells out

Jennifer Howze
Roberto Cavalli's line of clothes for H&M - characterised by animal prints and what some fashion insiders have called "pimp wear" for its slinky materials, studs and theatrical faux-fur reminiscent of '70s streetwalker culture - launched this morning, with the collection expected to sell out before day's end. The queues typical of recent high-profile high street launches (Kate Moss for Topshop, Anya Hindmarch's I'm Not a Plastic Bag £5 canvas bag) started in London at 6:30am, with queues winding round the corner of the Oxford Street shop before its 9am opening.
It was a scene replicated across the UK and Europe and China, with crowds waiting sometimes hours before opening, then rushing in to ring up the designer's pieces before they sold out.
The designer, who counts among his friends Sharon Stone and Jennifer Lopez, owns a 40-metre yacht, and expects to turn over £490 million this year, will be on site in New York City today to launch the collection there. The collection is a small offering of 25 pieces for women and 20 for men, many of them in his signature leopard and zebra prints. When H&M previewed the clothes last month at a star-studded party in Rome, fashionistas swooned over his full-length leopard-print maxidress, black fringed leather jacket and white tuxedo suit .
At stores in the UK and Europe, shoppers made early best-sellers of the leopard and zebra-print chiffon blouses and dresses, a zebra-print trench coat and a gold sequin bodice-front dress, according to WGSN, the fashion press bulletin. Other early attention grabbers for shoppers included black-and-white tuxedo pantsuits, high-waisted dark trousers and a faux-fur bomber jacket (which Eric Wilson likened to a fancy-dress hooker costume in The New York Times' On the Runway blog). Shoppers were also picking up costume jewellery, leopard-print hosiery and lingerie for more modest prices.
By lunchtime in Hong Kong, Greater China country manager Lex Keijser said half of the Cavalli stock had already sold out with a full sell-out expected by the end of the first day.
Cavalli is the latest of several high-profile designers who have created collections for H&M. Previously Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolk and Madonna all designed for the high street chain.

i agree. i think it's all about publicity. i find it all very distasteful, though. lately i am not too keen on h&m for a variety of reasons (higher prices, shoddy clothes, general disenchantment with 'fast fashion' in general). this is just a nail in the coffin, i guess! while i did like certain pieces (the cardigan, the jewelry), i just don't want to participate in this!

Anyone from Oslo here who got some from the collection??

My store in Nyc sold out of womens pieces in under 10 minutes. Um...HELLO! wth?

congrats libgery33r1b on getting the necklace!!! Is it nice?

I'm going to sell the measly pieces I could get, on ebay so i can buy the pieces i want..from ebay.

Had to make this light so you can see the details..
Im very happy with this one. Everything else was quite tacky IMO. The black and white blazer would be the only item I would really want to see in real life.. if it is even nice.

i've seen it...and i didn't like it that much, i might be becasue it was dirty from all the ppl touching it, but i didn't the the fabric either..the design was pretty simple too... IMO

Thanks for posting that picture miss60, it looks really nice one you. Too bad i didn't have the time or money to get my hands on the collection..

i went this morning. i live a few blocks from my local H and M in NYC. it was nuts. I am glad i got there after the doors were open, cause if i saw the line, i would not have waited or gone in at all. everything was gone in 5 minutes. so i stood over by the cashier and some very nice lady with arms full of clothes gave me three pieces that she decided she did not need cause she had many sizes of each. She actually gave me two pieces that i went there to get in the first place! and in my size! the long silk cobra sort of print dress... i know... sort of over the top, but i am hosting a cocktail party this thanksgiving and thought it would make a fabulous hostess dress.. messy hair, red lips, bare feet, and oh, i just threw this on type of thing.

and i got the leopard print blouse.. its very nice.. will look fantastic with an audrey hepburn type trouser in black with clean pulled back hair and red lips and black heels.

the very nice lady also gave me a pair of the leopard print jeans.... not sure about those.. sort of out there for me.. but i bought them anyway... sort of cool, i think i can make them work with a plain black tank top...

but,, i have to say overall the H and M experience was sort of nuts. someone told me that a group of men ran in and grabbed the whole rack literally picked up the whole silver rack of dresses... some sort of ebay gorilla group that planned a mass attack of the racks. H and M should in the future limit the number of pieces that indivduals can purchase. maybe that would be more fair to everyone.
overall the qualilty seemed pretty good from the pieces that i purchased.

you look great! that cardigan was pretty much the only piece i really could see myself wearing...other than that, the rest of the collection was just not me.

^^ i agree.. the cardigan is nice, and looks very nice on you. thanks for the pick.
i did not see one of those... everything was gone gone gone!

This is what I heard too. That someone took the entire rack of it. That's f'd up. to me it seems like this happened over the entire store. The picked up the jewelry, the furry jackets, and the gold carpet dresses. that is so unfair it's ridiculous.

I'm dumb, I should have figured that out and asked Cavalli what he thought of that. He was on the stairs watching the whole thing.

I didn't expect such a run at this collection, at my store the whole collection was sell out after 40minutes This never happened before in my town that a star collection was sold out so quickly. Incredible, but anyway my country is lucky to be one the few who can order it online :-)
