Roberto Cavalli S/S 2012 : Naomi, Karen, Kristen & Daphne by Steven Meisel

Daphne needs to be cropped out & replaced with someone of a higher status.

not really liking it. the collection was one of my favorite. but in here they dont show the clothes in the best way.

the "concept" if there was one. i dont like it.
after last season they had a great concept n this one im just not feeling it :l

great cast :flower:

Daphne at the same level of Naomi, Karen and Kristen?
She's like a duck in the wrong pond.

Lord, I was just about to rejoice @ the end of Daphne's 'relevance' and Meisel pulls this crap...sadly her presence isn't the worst thing about this campaign, it's Steven on an airbrush overdose once again.

Well, Daphne is the it girl currently... apparently everybody/every maison/designer want that she appears on their campaigns.

I'm curious who benefited the most from photoshop out of all of them. I'm guessing Naomi. Her face looks a bit off.

I disagree with everyone saying this isn't the best way to present the collection. I much prefer this where you can actually see the detail, rather than all the deserts, volcanoes and apocalyptic garish-ness that's usually in the background of Roberto Cavalli ads.

Not a fan of Cavalli (more like anti-fan, to be honest) but actually love the group shots.

The casting is spectacular, obviously. And surprisingly I like Daphne's solo shot the best. She's definitely a good addition to that supermodel cast.
That being said, I don't see how this campaign does anything for the collection itself. I thought that was one of the best Cavalli collections in about a decade but it looks extremely stale here. I would have loved if there had been more focus on the clothes than on the models. And I think the grey background is awful with those gold dresses.

I am soo in love with this campaign! Best of SS'12 by FAR!
All the girls look gorgeous and i love the vintage feel of it

I guess Steven Meisel per se want to shot Daphne for one of his campaigns..
She looks good though, really really good however she doesn't fit in the cast with the iconic models.. imo you can see that clearly in the second group shot.'about the others i only can say: wow and about daphne: yes she proves that she is a great model that can stands up in almost every shot with this cast.

I'm failing to understand the aversion towards Daphne, I happen to think Meisel assisted her appeal to blend with the others. Naomi's solo shots are impeccable, and the group ones are spectacular. Being forever appreciative of those 90's Versace campaigns, this is such a treat.

Daphne seems so out of place here. Three top veterans plus a youngling. I honestly don't pay any attention to her with Kristen, Karen AND Naomi in the shots.

i really like it, even though it may seem daphne is "out of place" sh manages to hold her own in a sense and blend in. i think KRISTEN is out of place if anything.

Entirely disgusted by this campaign, cheap, and ugly looking. When you have this kind of group of women, you don't airbrush the life out of them, you let them do their magic for you!! Even Elson looks doll like, and lifeless, you might as well have casted mannequins then, the background adds to the overall bland dated feel. Meisel is having a bad campaign season in a long while, imho.

I like how this looks very clean and sophisticated for being Roberto Cavalli...
it also makes me think of Richard Avedon

daphne looks out of place with the others but good for her, the flying hair shots are awful looks so fake  don't really like this campaign and it looks like the group shots were shot separately and then they were photoshopped together. lazy and cheap

What, they couldn't find a grey-enough wall to shoot against so they had to photoshop them on?
I think it was quite hard to do so, but by shooting it against that drab, flat backdrop they've actually taken away some life from the clothes. Why on earth didn't they use even a vaguely brighter colour, a yellow-based grey even?

i HATE this

all the girls looks so dull and boring and to be honest
it looks like a bad cookbook for versace

sorry -10 from me

is that naomi? or look a likey?

This does look a lot like Avedon for Versace but I don't care because I love it. And as everyone has said, surprisingly Daphne hold on her own in these shots very eventhough I think the other three ladies do work better. The background is bothering me too but I don't really care after that glorious cast .
