Roberto Cavalli S/S 2023 Milan | the Fashion Spot

Roberto Cavalli S/S 2023 Milan

Kinda messy... Out of focus, like three or four ideas going on a loop, with actual three or four moodboards mixed up. Not cavalli... I dont under stand what theyre doing with it ‍♀️

I actually liked his previous collections but this is all over the place.

a little all over the place indeed but I must say that I do like a lot of pieces/ outfits.
most of the shoes looked great too.

he gave me this feeling of a slight opulence and chicness that I missed from fashion shows and I think he’s still on the right path.
it looked expensive too!

would have removed all of the headbands. silly.

In terms of taste level, it's pretty much non-existent.

Congratulations to him because to be able to deliver a dated, messy, tacky, and gaudy in one collection, and he does that every season, he is consistent.

I see D&G and Versace badly mixed. The most laughable looks are those SL and Anthony knockoffs.

It’s like a Primetime Emmys type of wardrobe. What someone who’s generally quite tacky would consider ‘classy’ hahah

I’ll always endorse anyone who’s unapologetically raunchy but this timid, princess of the mall junk?.. nope.

I forget Fausto Puglisi is the current designer at Cavalli every now and then, wondering why I do. Seeing this collection, now I know why.

Roberto Cavalli used to be sexy, savage, mature yet sidled with the vulgar and had amazing fabrics, embroideries and trimmings. This is all so twee and juvenile, like a saccharine fashion student obsessed with "pretty" red carpet fashions. And so much duchess satin which I can't stand as a fabric most of the time.

Absolutely horrid.

roberto, I’m so sorry for what they are doing to your brand and name, sweety. You don’t deserve this

Versace from 12 years ago but done very badly. It’s totally ready to parade down the tackiest events during red carpet season.

The brooches and headbands that look like they were sourced from a counterfeit stall in Chinatown at least gave me a good laugh.

It's such a missed opportunity with Cavalli, because instead of going straight to the archives to take the best looks from early 00s as the source of inspiration, Fausto has been insisting on using weird silhouettes and questionable prints. And while his earlier collections were absolutely tacky but at least tried to capture the essence of Cavalli, this one doesn't make any sense for the brand.
