Rodarte for Target

bejeweled, the target to go pop up store only features a few rodarte items as pictured. (the rest of the store has other target brands such as merona etc)

the entire collection launches around december 20 (some stores will put it out early). its in most target stores and on amazon and target.com. target.com has a feature where you cant search specifically if a particular item is at a store near you.

The mustard cardigan, bow belts and nude lace dress are my favourite pieces so far.

i like the leopard dress a LOT and the blue dress too

it looks like it's the extortionate ebay prices for me though

Yay! I'll hit up the Georgetown one on the 11th of Dec. I really want the black bow dress, leopard dress, lace tights, striped tee and possibly the sequin dress in grey leopard print.

It's a 55 piece collection (?), yet they're only showing a few items. I'm dying to see the rest!

I love the last 3 looks! This is the most RTW Rodarte has ever been in a long time -- reminds me a bit of Anna Sui.

my favorites are the lace cardigan and the nude lace print dress, though I haven't really had a good look at the lace print dress...

erin: you gotta get the black lace dress with the bow at the clavicle!

here is the press release from target

Target is partnering with celebrated designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte to create the next limited-edition collection for GO International®, an innovative program designed to provide affordable fashion created by world-renowned designers.
Known for directional designs, intricate detailing and standout, red carpet dresses, Rodarte will launch an exclusive collection on Target.com/go and at most Target stores nationwide on December 20, 2009. The amazingly-priced collection of women's apparel, belts and legwear, will be available through January 31, 2010.

“Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte bring a couture sensibility to the GO International program with an acute eye for detail and appreciation for craftsmanship,” said Trish Adams, senior vice president, Target. “We are excited to share their extraordinary talent with our guests, providing off-the-runway fashion at unbeatable prices.”

Rodarte was founded in Pasadena, California in 2005 by Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who presented their first complete collection to accolades during February 2005 New York Fashion Week. The acclaimed Rodarte collection, named after their mother’s maiden name, calls to mind old-world couture with intricate hand-stitching and unexpected details. Since first introducing Rodarte, the Mulleavys have received high praise and industry recognition including the CFDA Swarovski Emerging Womenswear Designer award in June 2008, the Swiss Textiles Award in November 2008 and most recently, the very prestigious CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award for 2009. Currently, Rodarte is sold in more than 40 of the world’s premier retailers and has attracted an international following of celebrities and fashion lovers around the globe.

Rodarte for Target exudes effortless style and sophistication, taking emotional inspiration from some of the designers’ favorite iconic leading women in film, including, Faye Dunaway in “Bonnie & Clyde,” Mia Farrow in “Rosemary’s Baby and Ruth Gordon in “Harold & Maude.” Ideal for the season, the timeless, yet unconventional Rodarte for Target collection offers lace and tulle skirts and blouses that are both classic and modern. Girls will be compelled by Rodarte’s leopard and skeletal prints featured on jackets and shifts, while their floral motifs remain versatile and true to the brand. A delicate illusion tulle dress and lace cardigans get the Rodarte treatment, making them wardrobe essentials. Swimwear comes in an assortment of prints and textures while lace and open-hole knee-highs and tights allow for any woman to add signature Rodarte legwear to her favorite ensemble.

Ranging in price from $9.99 - $79.99, the line includes a variety of statement-making pieces. Rodarte for Target introduces inventive, avant garde apparel to the GO International program, presenting affordable luxury fashion to women everywhere.

oh oh!! does that mean we'll see the whole lookbook today? I'm so excited about that. I guess the only we haven't seen are the floral prints and swimwear.

there are about 21 looks it seems, but for some reason target hasnt released the others. maybe the items will come in two shipments? its possible as target stores will be jam packed with other items for the holiday season.

i also noticed that they cut the length of time this is in stores by a week. i think that they might have low stock on this collection. i don't think they are prepared for how popular this collection might be. i bet target will be surprised again (just as they were shocked at the demand for the proenza schouler items).

i'm excited for the swimwear!:woot: i wonder what the prints will be! hopefully not that flowered print.

arghh nvm
i just went to the target site, why are they only letting us see 9 looks outta the 21 or more?
