Sex and the City - The movie

I saw it yesterday, in Leicester Square, and it was the perfect setting. The place was full, and I've never seen a crowd so into the film when the opening credits began the whole crowd started cheering and clapping. And we got some free promotional canvas Sex And The city bags!

And the cutest thing was when Carrie got the huuuuge closet from Big and as she opened the doors to it the crowd all went 'Ooooh, ahhhh!'. All in all the film lived up to my expectations, it was a really tight script ('Oh honey, you've decided to get Botox!') and I really enjoyed it :bounce:

I didn't cry, but a woman behind me was literally in hysterics by the end of the film.

I loved loved loved the bit when Miranda and Steve met up on the bridge....really beautiful scene (and I don't even like them that much!).

-good acting from SJP in the Mexico breakdown scenes

-the European looking surfer dude Samantha keeps checking out was hot :innocent:

Overall I loved the movie...seriously I was expecting something far worse (ie the clothes being better than the plot) but I was proven wrong. Can't wait for the DVD.

questions

why did big stood up carrie?
why and with who did steve cheat, and why miranda forgave him?
and did sam stayed with smith?

OMG I've seen it on wednesday night with some friends and it was totally great! the outfits omg!!!!!!i loved every single outfits Carrie wore. Totally fab! and it was sooo good to see them again :woot: Everybody in the audience started screaming and cheering (is that the word?) when it started, and same thing when it ended :D We all seemed so HAPPY, that was great great GREAT!

I remember the candids of Carrie on a payphone, wearing knee socks and that Prada clutch, but I didn't see it anywhere in the movie. So that's probably to look forward to in the deleted scenes! -Oh how I want the DVD now!

I know ! I soooooooo wanted to see this outfit because it was one of my favorite i had seen from the on-set pics!

I loved every single outfit Carrie wore. I also liked Miranda's styling and haircut! Charlotte's styling, on the other hand, was a little bit disappointing!

Now let's talk about the "movie" -- it was more like a fantastic 2-hours episode than a movie .
So much fun! The scene when the four of them are in Mexico and Charlotte drank the shower's water was HILARIOUS! we couldn't stop laughing  I wasn't disappointed at all by the story, i just wish we could have seen Sam a bit more because i loveee her:lol: The sushis scene  !!!! And that hysterical dog  oh god

Oh btw, am i the only one who thought Jennifer Hudson (i can't recall her name) was a bit..useless? She was cute and all but idk ...

Oh et OMG Sam's neighbour:shock::shock::shock: i was on the verge of death when i saw that shower scene

I saw it today and I loved it - it was fabulous.

Also, in WH Smith today I saw a hardback picture story book on the film - it showed all or many of the outfits all four of them wore in the film and named the designers of each. I only flicked through it though cos it gave the story line away but will definitely be going to check it out properly. Cost about £16.

I saw it on Wednesday night too, and it was so amazing!! I seriously couldnt have expected more, and the atmosphere in the cinema was so great! It was pure SATC! With some amazing one-liners!

Omg it was amazing! way way better than i expected. i won't even post any spoilers as it would be to mean! it had exactly the right amount of humour and moments that made you cry.
the only thing i can criticise is i wish there had been a little more charlotte and samantha. But still it was so good
oh and carries wardrobe :wub::heart::wub::heart:!

i was supposed to go yesterday evening but didn't.... prefered to have some beers and talks with friends....
is it any good???

OMG i loved it

i cried way more times that i thought. when carrie attacked big with the flowers :( and when they reuinted (i KNEW he'd be holding the shoes in the closet.)
when charlotte had her baby.
and when miranda and steve reunited.
and carries wardrobe :heart: was wonderful especially the early outfits. the end as well was perfect especially as my friend told me thats how you see the four girls together for the first time in the first episode.
i wish we'd seen a bit more samantha and charlotte though. i would have loved to see samantha and dante  and charlotte's pregnancy test etc (as i lvoe her and harry and i swear he only spoke like twice). and  at when samantha turned to food!
and i liked jennifer hudson, when she got her louis vuitton it was so cute!
oh and also as if stanford split up with his hot bf, but him and anthony  i always wanted that to happen.

ok im all posted out  hope everyone else loved it!

-Well Big didn't actually do a full on romantic proposal, it was more like a business transaction and before the wedding we see he is having doubts and Miranda says something to him on the eve of the wedding that has an effect on most of their relationships as a consequence. He was waiting outside the wedding venue in the car, when he called Carrie and needed her to reassure him that it was just them in the end and not all this big fancy wedding that it became. But Charlotte's daughter Lily had Carrie's phone. Big saw Carrie go inside and once she got inside, she was told he wasn't there, so she called him and he told her he couldn't go inside and she dropped the phone. Then Big realises what a mistake he is making and turns the car around, just as Carrie passes in the car, they see each other, she gets out and hits him with her bouquet. (the scene we saw in the candids)
-We don't know who Steve cheated with, it's more about the fact that he cheated not who with. Six months pass before she comes to forgive him, but we see her and Steve in marriage councilling and agree to meet somewhere, if they both turn up, everything in the past is forgotten. Before this there are a few moments where we see how much they still love each other.
-Sam doesn't cheat on Smith, despite temptation but at the end of the movie she ends things with him.

I loved the movie!! I was so afraid I would be let down but I loved it!

-The fashion, didn't at all disappoint, but I remember the candids of Carrie on a payphone, wearing knee socks and that Prada clutch, but I didn't see it anywhere in the movie. So that's probably to look forward to in the deleted scenes! -Oh how I want the DVD now!

I was looking for that outfit too! I loved what she wore and was disappointed when I didn't see it. Carrie's Proenza outfit at the library was .

but do carrie and big end up together?

Yes they do! In a very simple but sweet way, just the two of them in a dress by 'nobody'.

Anthony + Stanford  Who would have thought! I wished more time was spent on their story.

the movie is so good. I loved that Carrie even joked about the blue feather/bird she wore to her wedding. My fav part was when she was modeling her old clothes. SJP has a great body. I also loved the Lanvin wedding dress. The movie was sold out and the audience was literally it 99% women...

It was fantastic! They all looked so fit and pretty too! I thought that was cute when she was trying on the outfits to keep or toss, and she wore the pink tank and fluffy skirt from the tv show opening. It was awful when he stood her up at the wedding :( But I'm glad it all worked out.

It's coming out in theaters tonight and I'm going to see it with a bunch of my girlfriends :woot: can't waitttt !!! :woot::heart:

I just got back! Ok first observations in the theater...I have never seen so many women and lines in my life! The place was packed and it was playing on three screens, everywhere I looked people were waiting to get in to see SATC.

About the movie, it didn't disappoint and the audience I saw it with was great, lots of laughing and clapping. I always like seeing a movie with a lively audience.

The scene when Carrie dropped the phone and asked the girls to her out of there was so incredible...and just devastating. The movie was serious eye candy though, everything popped and was simply amazing. I even liked J.Hud's character and I didn't think I would. Overall it defintiely earned ****
