I agree.

skinthight is so not what this shorts trend is about. even very short shorts can look sophisticated when they are loose enough.

I think the best advise on buying shorts is: buy them in a size bigger than you normally wear

Oo, great, I was going to ask if you guys thought it was ok to wear shorts with tights. I don't see any runway pictures of it, but I thought it would look rad with the cuffed, "formal fabric" short culotte-ish kind and vintagey heels. I just didn't want to get laughed off the street.

Oh, I agree. I live in FL, too. I usually try and wear skirts for most of the summer.
I've never been a fan of shorts I find them to be quite boring and sometimes very unflattering.
But, I really like the look for this spring. It's a classy spin on shorts.
