How do you become a model that isn't super tall, but has an interesting look, good for arty or just plain old photographic modeling?

Is it the same deal? Send in the photos etc?

Or are there particular agencies one should approach? If so, can someone recommend them>> ??

all the top photographers want to shoot me they constantly keep asking me in person and by email but I dont have an agent what shall I do??? I wonder if agents are interested in me.... because they have other interests than photographers. I mean a photographer might see star potential in me and want to capture me now before im huge or they just want to try out things because they like my face and body on pictures. But an agency only thinks about money? thats stupid. If a girl becomes a star then the agency will get a bigger name by her and will ear more because of the star.

so now the next step is how to attract an agent...? what if agent are not interested in me but these top photographers keep asking me, shall I just do pictures with them without an agnet? I already did pics with 2 extremely top photographers I mean top vogue photographers. I dont know how to get an agent, plus i almost never go outside the house.

there was also an email by a very famous casting agnet who was looking for the next armani girl and thought id suit but i didnt reply. also a casting agnet isnt a modeling agent right?

also im short just a little taller than kate moss I was with her a couple of times. could photographers be interested in me because of my face & body? but maybe agnets wont want me because they want someone immidately for vogue and high fashion runway? so how do i attract that??? wow wow. ok slow down, aha maybe you should go to the "so you want to be a model" thread they will definitely help you there.
but i think you should shoot with the top photographers while you can and let the agency find you.

Try going to open castings at agencies, or sending your photos to an agency you like. Look on their websites, they'll tell you what times they are open for potential models to come in, and where and how to send in your photos.

I don't think two earrings in each ear would mess up your model look As long as you don't overdo with piercings, that's completely ok.
I've met many girls who had few piercings (such as tongue, belly...) and their agents were fine with this.

Finally the time is coming after many delays it seemed, I'm going to NY next week, got the hotel booked and planned visits.

I'm going by models.com top mens agencies suggestion, and only visiting the top ten because I only want to get signed knowing I could work successfully, not be on a board for any agency and not book anything.

There are some things I will swap though, ford only has open calls for women, so I'll visit Boss models instead of them, DNA doesn't hold any open calls, so I'll try to call them and see if they do anything to see a potential new face in person. Public Image, what happened to them? I wish IMG would have kept a male board now basically it is gone with the fall of PI.

Basically though, I think it will come down to the polaroids, I just hope I can look like I do in a mirror in the pics they may take, at the moment I may not be as photogenic as a model should, but if the agency thinks I have potential then I would do what it takes to improve it.

Anyone got any last minute suggestions?
