^ Yes ... the problem with those charts is that they have to create categories, and then choose colors that will work for everyone. That process may eliminate some of the very best colors for you. I love purple & dusty rose on me, as I recall two colors that CMB would never recommend for me. So best thing IMO is to use the systems as a jumping off point.

It's also helpful to get a grip on how to adapt the colors you wear ... so if you are stressed and broken out, bright red next to your face or on yours lips is not going to be your friend. But on a day when your complexion is perfect, it might be just fine.

Caramel, I think it's all what really makes you comfortable. Are you wishing for more color as you're out and about in the world? Or do you just feel it's something you should do? If color isn't really what you wish for, maybe texture could be something to consider--if you're looking to add interest.

Elle s'ennuine: cashmere lounge pants sounds divine! Sounds like something I need in my life ;) Nice boots as well. All of the Vagabond shoes I have owned has been in a very good quality

Fewormany: how did it work out with your shirt? I am totally confused btw, I thought it was from COS.

Caramel: I like the patterned thing in the right corner. Is that a jacket?

Trenchcoat: I would not buy leather pieces from H&M for the same reasons that I would not buy H&M silk. Silk is not just silk and leather is not just leather.

Ta-ta: sorry about the shoes. They were gorgeous. I am happy to hear that you are liking your pants though. That kind of clothes are the best.

Color theory: I have given up and decided that my season is "confused".

Trenchcoat: i don't really understand your approach to your personal style. do you want to have certain item cause you think it's considered "classic", or it belongs to "the perfect french wardrobe"? or do you really like the item and think that will fit your own personality, likings and lifestyle? i mean, in the end it all goes down to making something personal and our own, right? it's the person who's wearing the clothes, not vice versa:smile:

It's form McQ by Alexander McQueen, COS clothing is usually more subtle.

Confused sounds like a perfect season to me, who needs seasons anyway when you've got global warming.

I'm going to wait with buying the leather jacket. I agree with you guys. If you want to invest in something big then its better to invest in something good. I think Goosecraft is a better brand for leather jackets.

I had another question about scarfs. I want to buy a Acne kind of scarf. But it doesn't have to be wool. So I found this one. But on the site it says that its made from acryl. (No clue what that is. But it is long and big (200x60 cm) Can someone help me with the acryl part haha. It looks chic on the picture.

^ Yes, acrylic is a synthetic fiber that tends not to wear well. You should be able to find a good-quality scarf that's also fairly inexpensive. I would think someplace like LL Bean or the equivalent ... an old-school company with good quality. If you have sensitive skin, you'll want to make sure the scarf is comfortable.

Trenchcoat You should check the sale/outlet section on the Bijenkorf site.
They have lots of great (and affordable) scarfs made from better material. I would go with a natural fiber like cotton or wool.

My favorite scarf is woolen (and I bought it at the Bijenkorf as well actually, on sale a year ago) and it's so much warmer and softer then any synthetic I know.

Thanks for the advices! Wool is better. This one is wool, I like the color.

^Keep in mind that you can't post images wider than 800 pixels... My browser will only load 20% of the pictures (my internet does not always want to co-operate with me), but I think I like the texture of the scarf in the first picture;)

Also, I would avoid acrylic like the plague. You get shocked seveal times a day due to the static, and I know that I at least start to cold sweat when wearing it, it does not breathe well, and it is very flammable and will melt on your skin (not good!:O) if it catches fire...

Thanks for the advice. I learn so much from you about fabrics and stuff. I honestly didn't know acrylic fabrics. So thanks.

Thanks, betina. Kind of annoyed that I cannot exchange ... I must return and order the size I want (if indeed they have it) separately. Argh ... I could take $$$ from savings, but how annoying. Will undertake a new search when I feel up for it ;)

The pants are amazing! They're by Brora, if anyone is tempted  (I just checked their website and they're back to full price now, alas.)
You can be 'confused [your favourite season here]' ;)

Trenchcoat - What season are you planning to wear the scarf? A giant wool scarf might be a bit too warm for a lot of the year in NL, so if it's not just for winter, maybe cotton or cotton with wool or silk might be better?

I have been thinking about my wardrobe lately. I feel like I have enough pieces, in a way. (I will definitely not be forced to walk around naked this summer:D)I would like to spend less on my summer wardrobe than I have spent the past couple of seasons. Last summer I didn't have a foundation I was pleased with, and I was pretty much starting from scratch.

Now I have at least two great summer dresses I love, four pair of summer flats, and plenty of cropped trousers, silk blouses and basic t-shirts.

If I am going to add onto my current wardrobe, I would prefer to add items that will let me make more outfits of my current pieces. I am considering getting two Acne tees for layering, for instance. If I get one in a "washed" charcoal and navy, I think I can layer them with most of my winter wardrobe as well.

I also need to replace the blue jeans I got in London. The ones I got were very disappointing. The seams are (unintentionally) asymmetrical, and the zipper-seam (?) twists to the side when you wear them. They have also stretched ridiculously in the thigh area. I bought a UK6, which is usually very small on me, but I drown in these:( If I lived in the UK I would march down to the store and demand a full refund:angry: They cost 80 GBP and they twist as bad as Primarks 9 GBP jeans.

Maybe I could try emailing them? It would be easier to explain how they are poorly made in person, but if they agree to take them back I could probably get half of the retail price back, after shipping. Anyone know if I still stand a chance a month later? I don't know how UK/EU rules work.

I am thinking for SS:
Blue rayon/linen tee
Grey rayon/linen tee
Blue jeans

This also leaves room for a Ebay bargain or two:innocent:

I've noticed in the past that if I spend less on clothes, I spend more on books, groceries and/or beauty products. Now, I intend to spend less on all four posts - I already have a lot of clothes, and I have decided not to buy more beauty products unless I actually run out. I also have no room for more books, and I intend to follow the groceries budget I made myself. I wonder where my money will go now? Maybe my kitten will get the pampering of his life:lol:

Eizhowa - That sucks about the jeans. Where did you get them? (I feel like I should remember this..) I don't know if there are any rules or regulations that would help you in this case, but it's definitely worth it to e-mail the store about it, maybe they'll be helpful anyway. Or if they have a facebook page, maybe mention it over there, companies seem to be much more attentive to customers' concerns when those concerns are put where others can see them too... :rolleye:

And my vote goes to kitty pampering! :woot:

Eizhowa, which brand was your jeans. Too bad that it wasn't good.

Is anyone familiar here with Abercrombie jeans? I was thinking to buy one because I like the fitting. But don't know how the quality is. Do you know the brand?

I thought Abercombie was like HM, just less scandinavian. Thats just my ignorant opinion though. I've never seen one. But if the jeans fit, and don't have any logos on them, I think that is fine. Quality-wise, you are likely to get what you pay for. Look out for wonky seams though! My topshop jeans have held up 1000x better than the jeans that cost 2x!

The jeans were from Hobbs N3. I don't know anything about the brand, and it might have just been one faulty items among 100s of perfectly good ones.

I emailed them today, and attached a picture where you can see that the top button is about two inches (okay, maybe it is just one inch, but that is one inch to many!) left of my navel... Hopefully they will let me return the jeans for a full refund. I'll consider Facebook and online reviews if not...

Luckily I kept the reciept. My filing system is not as sophisticated as Fashionista-tas though. I just have a very big box to dump them in:shifty:

eizhowa: I am looking for a good quality breton top and I saw that you had purchased one from Saint James. Could I ask what model did you buy and the size? I am having trouble figuring out the size online... I am thinking the Minquiers 10 but it's a men's size. I want it to be slouchy and loose but not too big and you seem to be a somewhat similar size/height to me.

Also, is the logo on the sleeve removable? From what I understand these are great tees but that logo would drive me insane if I couldn't remove it... I hate logos!
