The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #6

Thanks for the advices! Wool is better. This one is wool, I like the color.

Check Scottish cashmere or wool scarves at Lochcarron of Scotland (they are a member of The Scottish Cashmere Club - some of the members are also doing scarves for houses like Burberry but I'm not sure which one ). Prices are very, very reasonable and you can get check, tartan or solid color scarf. They ship worldwide.

Ganybelle: I think I have a Meridien II. I bought it on Ebay so I am not 100% sure. I bought the XS/GB 32. It measures 42 cm across the shoulders (so it is a mens shirt;)), sleeves 56 cm, length 61 cm, and the chest is 92cm. It is quite big on me. If it was not a breton (which can be baggy) I would not have allowed it!:D It is also very heavy weight. Probably the heavierst sweater I own. I checked, and you can see the logo-stiches on the inside, so it should come off. I can't guarantee that it won't leave a small mark though:/ I hate logos too, but I tolerate this one. It is barely visible anyway.

Hobbs jeans: I heard back from them. I have to send them back for inspection. I am afraid they won't find the error with the jeans. It is much more visible on, and I doubt they will try them on to find the fault... I could loose a lot of money if I send them in. I have to cover the shipping, which is about 40 USD, and if they don't find the jeans faulty, I probably need to pay for the return as well:( (And then I can start giving feedback on facebook etc;))

Thank you, that helps a lot :flower: The one I want is apparently one of their lighter weight options which I do prefer. And honestly, I think I would rather have a tiny mark than a logo:ninja:

Why don't you take & save pix of you wearing them? You could even draw in things like 'center of body' & 'center of jeans' :P You can print & include in the package, and if necessary post on Facebook later. For Facebook you can include a pic of you wearing proper jeans that align correctly ;)

I've found myself wearing a lot of monochrome grey outfits lately. My new grey jeans seem to be the catalyst of this. I only have one pair of grey shoes though, and they aren't very comfortable. I was thinking about getting a new pair of sneakers for summer (since I pretty much wear sneakers every day), something grey or maybe white. Nike has some nice customizable options, maybe that's the way to go.

My list for summer so far:

  • Sandals
  • Sneakers (grey or white)
  • Thin loose fitted trousers

I'll probably get some t-shirts to, but I don't consider those to be 'main-items'.

^ Maybe some grey leather ones?

I packed up my sandals to ship back today, after trying them on with a fresh pedicure yesterday to decide whether I should look for them in my size (the only way to make a proper decision about open-toed shoes ;)). I decided to, and now they're available at Nordstrom in suede, so I ordered. They are significantly more expensive than the leather, which I don't quite understand  Found some other variations as well, but I liked this one the best, and I can get triple points ;) Hopefully the fit will be absolutely right this time. And so much for the personal stylist who told me my sandal had already sold out at Nordstrom :rolleye: I've pinned the new ones ...

@Fewormany: Oh I know - that was why I was sort of thrown of

I like your approach to the seasons thing ;)

I think that grey suede sneakers are gorgeous - that would be my choice.

@Ta-ta: kind of weird that you can not just exchange the sandals. That is odd, I think. I hope you will like the suede version

@Eizhowa: I would try to write to the store regarding the jeans. Cant hurt. I also find that if I spend less money on clothes I spend more on something else - like food :lol. Sort of silly.

What have you decided to do with the jeans?

Jeans: I will send them back when I find the time. Finding the correct duty forms for returning something is a real hassle. I attached a picture of me wearing the jeans to the email I sent last week. It will have to do, becuase I don't have a printer at hand.

Ta-ta: Maybe suede is less structured/softer than leather, so it requires more engineering to make them work? Not sure what else it could be.

@fashionista-ta: hopefully the fit is right, I like them very much and the suede gives it something extra.

@eizhowa: what a hassle about your jeans, irritating, hopefully the solution is fast and good.

@Fewormany: I like grey a lot. My Acne Needle Rocco was a perfect grey but unfortunately due to a weaving flaw I had to send it back, I'm still annoyed. I love your blouse, nice statement piece, but not too much. By the way I also love the harness shirts form McQueen, very James Bond.

Can someone shoot me? (Just kidding!:D) Because I've already seen 3 pair of perfect shoes (by Gucci). :hardhead: I'm going crazy. One is a perfect boot, one is a perfect flat and one is on pre-order, a perfect sandal.

I have to say that my Acne Canada scarf is still gorgeous, lovely large and chic looking, still very much in love. A bit less in love with my Acne Needle black jeans. Fit etc. is fine but the fabric gives me a headache . You see every dust particle on the jeans, everything sticks to it. So when you're not paying any attention and for example graze the bed sheets, the jeans are covered in dust. Anyone any ideas how to handle this effectively?

^I keep a Sticky roller by the door so that I can remove hair/dust from my black jeans whenever I leave the house:) And then I pet the neighbours cat and it was all a waste... So worth it-_-

^ What is it about cats ... I swear they know when you're wearing black pants & choose that day to wrap themselves around your legs  Someone should do a study about this ... but I already know it's true.

^Probably something to do with the vibes people are emitting or radiating :pink: (something like that). The same is true when people are afraid of your cat or your cat wants to have a seat on your lap always at the wrong moment!

My cat always climbs on top of me when I'm wearing knits. Not very practical.
Oh, and he is shedding like crazy at the moment.. :ninja:

What a pity about the Acne jeans. I was thinking about my own wardrobe and thought that my intentions to start the 5 piece system is to not buy many clothes. That's why I have only six pieces on my wishlist for spring. I already own a trenchcoat, but I still need to buy the rest. I've opened a pinterestalbum with outfits that I would want to copy. And I found out that my favourites are simple basic pieces combined in a outfit.

1. Light washed jeans
2. Leather jacket
3. Old pink blouse
4. White boyfriend blouse
5. Beige ballerina
6. Trenchcoat ('ve already bought)

What is on your S/S wishlist? I think I also want to add a dress (floral) or a mint shirt.

white shirt lagarconne.com
leather jacket vestiairedecopines.com
light washed jeans matchesfashion.com

@Eizhowa: I feel sorry that you need to go through that hassle. I would loathe that myself.

@Nymphaea: I think the only thing to do with clothing like that is not to buy them, sadly. Thank you for the warning, for what it is worth. I was contemplating getting black ACNE jeans. Not so sure anymore.

-----------

So that non shopping thing haven't really been working out for me this month. Guess I haven't had the motivation, but now I do so I'll give it another try.

I had a chance to purchase a pair of boots that I have been stalking a bit for the entire season for only 1/5 of the original price. Somehow I m not sure if I find the cut flattering when wearing them, so I need to make a decision about layering that.

Also I got a babypink coat which I am fuææ on in love with. I never ever buy trend items, but this one really spoke to me and fits perfectly into my current style and the direction I want to take it (a bit more dressy, classic and ladylike)

I rarely ever shop at H&M anymore, but this coat just looked gorgeous, a lot more expensive than it is. Also, oddly enough, all of my coats from H&M has held up really well (for 4 seasons or more), so I decided to go with it.

Because of this picture I also want to add a white jeans, beige summer sweater and sunglasses (ray ban or ralph lauren) to my wardrobe;

Trenchcoat: Uniqlo sell pink and white shirts in a nice, flowy material. I think the white might be sold out, but they should still have the pink one (the same as I have).

They also sell beige ballerinas at http://www.pierotucci.com/clothing/shoes_ballet_flats/ I think they are cheaper on that site than on Toast.

I've been thinking about my SS list as well... All I need is a pair of blue jeans, really... to replace the failure from Hobbs. I actually have enoguh SS clothes. Which is kind of great, because I have fallen in love with a full length bias cut black silk dress that I totally don't NEED but really really want  It would be perfect for christmas and new year:wub:

Betina: Hopefully we will get some modelling pictures of you with the coat soon;) It will look great with your pink nail polish! How is the weather in Denmark? Has the snow melted yet? Really want to see baby pictures of your tall Acne boots.

Christmas and New years - and I thought I was addicted to planning (;

I would love to see pictures of that dress. It sounds divine. I have very few actual needs on my wishlist for both SS14 and AW14 which is nice since I am really considering starting to save money for a black Mulberry Willow

I will see if I can get some pictures for you of both the coat and the boots. Still kinda difficult since it still gets dark so early. We haven't had snow for quite some time, but it is still somewhat cold, so I probably wont be able to wear the coat before in a month ord so.
