The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #6

I get what you mean about the french girl idea. But still I dont see many people wearing it where I live. It's so nice to hear that you finally have reached your perfect wardrobe. And I also understand the burgundy-sweater-not wearing it. I also want to add colour to my wardrobe. Thats why I've bought a mint jumper. I knew it wasnt in my colour scheme but still I wanted a colour in my wardrobe. But I sent it back. It's just not me. My colours are grey, olive, cream, navy and black. That's it. I guess I will stick to that.

The things that I need now are: white tee, grey blazer, wash jeans, silk off-white blouse.

I will buy the jumpers next season in the colours navy, olivegreen and grey.

I guess you had the same experience as me trying to branch out with colour. At least it's a good lesson to learn to follow our gut feelings!

And yes, I'm starting to feel very happy about my wardrobe. I wouldn't say it's perfect, by any means, and it probably never will be, but it's definitely on the right track. Having started from rather bare bones, hating probably 90% of the clothes I had, I'm feeling really good about this.

My fear was that I would look to casual with the wardrobe that I had in mind. Now I've made a list with tops, bottoms, jackets and shoes. And that would be MY perfect wardrobe. Although it's quite basic and casual.

Tops: Grey tee, Black tee, White tee, cami, grey jumper, navy cardigan, olive green jumper, breton sweater, off-white blouse, taupe blouse, black turtleneck, navy boho blouse.

Bottoms; black skinny, grey skinny, wash blue skinny, black pants, black skirt

Jackets: black blazer, navy blazer, grey blazer, black jacket, camel jacket

Boots: leather tall, taupe ankle, black ankle, broques, sandals, black ballerina's

Trenchcoat (the garment, not the person. This is getting confusing!:( There are a lot of people who wear trench coats, but very few who wears them well. Too small a size, too short, wrong sleeve length, belt in the wrong position, unflattering color, too shabby etc. I think if you stumble across a great trench, Caramel, go for it. They are a rarity!

I tried on a Burberry trench again today, but in a different fabric than the last time. I think I have tried the twill and garbadine ones. Everything was off fit-wise. The sizing was ridiculous. It was huge! I drowned in the size UK8, and they didn't carry anything smaller. The arms were too wide, the sleeves too long, the trench was too A-lined and the belt was positioned too low:( And all other trenchcoats are always missing something, like buttons or fastening in certain places.

March purchase: I purchased a large grey scarf today in a local store. It felt nice to be able to bring the item with me home straight after I purchased it. I usually have to wait 3-10 businessdays:innocent: It was a Beck Sondergaard scarf, made from 50&silk and 50% wool, with an eyelash fringe. I was actually going to ask you guys if you knew where I could purchase a scarf just like it:D I think it will really add the little extra to a lot of my outfits.

Tweed Blazer: I am still considering washing it... I know it could end badly, like Ta-ta said, but I just know I won't wear it as it is, and it will (hopefully) be a while untill I need jackets two sizes larger:/

Yes, you're right eizhowa, I do see a lot of trenchcoats around, but not that many who wear them well. I haven't started looking so I don't even know what's out there, I just don't know if I want to put in the effort. But surely, if I stumble upon the perfect one I'll snatch it up!

Do you have a picture of the scarf you got? :flower:

I know winter is over, but I am considering getting an Acne scarf in dark camel. I've regretted not getting one for a long time, mostly because I like the colour and it's the only one I've found in that particular shade. I have searched for it second hand for a while and finally found one. What do you guys think is a reasonable price to pay? I think I remember you selling yours a while ago eizhowa?

^No, I haven't sold it. Trying to figure out the postage costs was too much of a hassle. I think mine is a light camel though. Much too light for my own coloring. I never found a dark camel one. Maybe mine is dark and I just didn't notice:rolleyes: I will probably sell it next fall. I hear listing on Finn.no will become free. You can have mine for 700NOK if you want. I don't know what they go for on Finn. I can cover the postage. I can send you pics in a PM if you want. I have the original wrapping and reciept.

I will go photograph my new scarf and post it later tonight.

Ah, I see! I quite like the lighter camel and I think it could work for me, but I think I too prefer the darker one. But if you haven't sold yours come next fall I might be interested in it then!

^Where do they sell the darker one? I can't find it:( I have pictures on Polyvore of a darker one, but that is it:/ Maybe the dark was FW 12/13 and the lighter one was FW13/14? I bought mine in July I think, when it has just arrived in store.

Yeah, I think it was FW 12/13. I haven't seen it in stores either but I found someone selling one on bazar.no. Been searching for ages though, this is the first one I've come across!

^Make sure to post a picture of it when/if you get it! I am never sure if it is just a trick of the light. I am begining to think they don't exist. Like unicorns:angel:

Haha, I will! I'm not even sure if this one is the real thing either. The seller says it is dark camel, but I don't know if it's the dark camel, and the picture she posted is really dark. I asked her for a better one, so we'll see.

eizhowa Was it this one? I love wool/silk blends, I'd prefer a square, but haven't found any that I like, so I've been pondering some Beck Söndergaard scarves.

^Yes, it is! I don't know why I couldn't find the scarf online when I was searching for it.

Fold it in half, and it is a quare:wink:

 Yeah, I was thinking that I would just fold it... I haven't found the solid grey one sold anywhere online though (except a store based in Singapore, so taxes :yuk:).

Thank you, Caramel:flower:

elle_s'ennuie: Maybe you could email them and ask if they have a list of who stocks their scarves in the EU? Then you could email the shop and ask if they will send it too you. The scarves are proably cheaper within the EU as well. The store I bought mine in have very noticable mark-ups:S

Thanks, that's a good idea! :flower: When you were buying the scarf, did you see the other colours in the store? I found a nude/powder pink version of this scarf in one online shop, but it looks much paler than the rosey beige version on the Beck Söndergaard website, so I'm wondering which one is closer to the actual colour...

The scarf I bought was the only solid colored one they stocked, so I never actually saw this scarf, but I think the colors in the first pictures are as dark as intense as they will ever be, and the second shows how the scarf will look in natual cold spring light. I know how my own grey scarf looks in real life, indoors and outdoors, and online, so that is what I am basing it on.

Hello ladies! Haven't posted in a while, just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I just took advantage of the COS and GAP sales and picked up a few basics ... I've never shopped at either store before, but I heard they're amazing for basics when you're on a budget. I really needed some new clothes, so I just got some I know I'll wear for a long time, to hopefully complete my wardrobe a little bit. Otherwise, I have to save up for the holidays as well as a few trips I'm taking in S/S.

What I got - I shopped for some basic things (can you believe I do not have a single T-shirt in my wardrobe? Criminal!) Starting off with a gorgeous COS top which I plan on wearing with printed trousers, I think it'll look amazing. I also got a nice striped top, which is another essential I've been missing since my Zara sweater bit the dust (it got horribly stretched out and washed into a terrible grey color). And finally, a sheer black tee, which I'll just wear with a pair of jeans (I never thought I would wear jeans and a tee, but what do you know).

And from GAP, I got a heather gray and white striped top with a pretty back, it has a keyhole opening which ties with a bow, as well as a nice white thin jumper which will be perfect for spring. I am so pleased with everything, because of the sales I spent under 100€ and I think that is an amazing deal for 5 items! Cannot wait to receive everything & then I think I'm done with shopping until May.

Hm, would you say the grey scarf is similar to this colour in real life? It is not the same scarf, but the colour name is the same that they give for this year's grey scarf. (I'll email them and ask if they would ship to me. )

Can anyone tell me where to buy good knitwear? Ive tried cos but cardigans and sweaters are too short for me. I want to try apc but i will wait for their sale.
