The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #6

I will see if I can take some pictures of it this weekend - I think I'll iron it first though

I would love to see a picture too!

Yesterday I fell in love with the perfect silk blouse Equipment in Dune. But it's way too expensive for me (250 euros!). Im looking for a silk blouse (maximum 150 euros). Can anyone help me with that?

Betinapple Do show us your trenchcoat! Oh, and I would really recommend the 20 pieces 20 outfits thing. I discovered an amazing blog which you all might like, not sure if it has been posted here yet, but it is http://into-mind.com/ It really focuses on minimal, signature style and I'm a little bit obsessed with it!

Trenchcoat I was in the same boat! Equipment blouses look beautiful but are really expensive ... I know the girls recommended me Massimo Dutti, and I would maybe also suggest COS?

Regarding my purchases, my GAP order arrived insanely fast, the day after it was shipped! Both tops are really pretty and so soft, but their sizing is huge. I am normally a Large but these are quite oversized, next time I will order a size down. Really hoping my COS order arrives in the next couple of hours though, as I am going away for a week or so ...

^Thanks. 235 is just to much to spend on a shirt. Btw, I wanted to do my first APC purchase and saw this Marine shirt. It will be or this or a simple blouse.

And I found my perfect simple Khaki/Olive sweater that I was looking for for so long:

Perhaps you can find one on sale ...

Re: Equipment blouses - have you looked on ebay? I've seen several of them, new with tags, for sale; maybe you'll get lucky and find one in your size and preferred colour.

Scarf saga: I googled again today and now several more webstores popped up that stock the grey scarf. So perhaps it was just a new season stock issue and now they're trickling in? I even found a store that is both in the EU -and- willing to ship to me. :D

I've received my Norma Kamali dress and jumpsuit and they don't disappoint e.g. they are fab! ^_^ The fabric is very stretchy but you don't want to wear it very clingy because otherwise all your bad features will be enhanced. :P Both fit just right and look great. Nice basics for daytime wear and for the evening I just have to bling it up with some necklace or high heels. The fabric reminds me of some kind of fabric from the swimsuit world, feels cool so nice for summer I think. Very happy I've ordered the correct sizes, so no hassle with taxes etc.

My wardrobe is looking really boring to me these days and I am starting to think that it is not just something temporarily related to the spring. I think I might want something coloured/patterned, but I am not sure what would be the best choice. Where would you start?

What color(s) are you drawn to? Maybe you should get one piece in that color to freshen things up and see if it works out for you.

For years I only wore green/blue/grey but I really needed a break from all those cool colors. And that's when I started to introduce orange. I started with shoes with an orange accent and then I added some more of it because I really liked it and it worked very good with everything in my wardrobe.

Are you just bored with your colors, or with the overall style/silhouette?

Betina: Is there anyhting on your wishlist you feel would spruce up your wardrobe?

Thank you for your great advice you guys!

@Fewormany: good idea to start with one thing.

I think I am bored with both the lack of colour (but I removed colour from my wardrobe because I tend to get tired of coloured/patterned items more fast than basic items) and my wardrobe in generel. I think I need something to oomph it all up a little, since everything is just so basic and black and grey. I used to wear rockabilly dresses and Jeffrey Campbell Litas, and although that's definetly not me anymore, everything is just so safe - and therefore boring, ATM.

@Eizhowa: I was looking at a dress in a purple-ish print and actually put it on my wishlist for my birthday. It would be a help but I am not sure if it is an solution, since I tend to get tired of print dresses fast(er) than with other things.

Other than that I do not have a lot of things on my wishlist that screams "statement-piece", since I am currently looking for the perfect black skirt, black jeans, grey or navy maxi dress, a black sweater, black wool coat, and an ACNE Canada scarf.

Perhaps getting a haircut will help - I am getting bangs on Tuesday.

^ This is why I'm not really in favor of paring back to the very nubbin  I would suggest starting a pattern/color board on Pinterest and see where it leads. I am definitely tending toward color rather than pattern, with the exception of certain things I consider so classic that they almost aren't prints, like animal prints, polka dots, and very wide stripes (which I have yet to actually find IRL). I seem to recall you liked something striped I pinned ...

When I returned my pink shoes & requested an exchange, instead I got my money back. So since I'm by no means sure the larger size would actually work, and in the meantime I found another pair of shoes I could actually go try on ... I went with something different. They're very cute (I would think so, wouldn't I?!) Kate Spade espadrilles that I've pinned. The wedge will be very practical ... and the bow has this great origami center. The heel is striped, natural and red rope. Those of you who've known me awhile know I have a weakness for espadrilles  These will be cute with my new ankle-length denim trousers, as well as I think my polka-dot pants. As well as my ivory skirt that knots at the sides ...

I was contemplating the idea of getting another pair of the denim trousers, something I don't normally do. The price is reasonable, and I really like how they fit. Thoughts??

i'm adding a chambray and white blouse to my summer wishlist.
I want your opinion girls haha. Because I dont want to buy too much stuff I wanted to choose between a chambray shirt and a polkadot shirt. I say this shirt at thekidsalooker.tumblr.com and I love her style and this shirt. What would you do. Buy this polkadot shirt or a simple blue shirt?

@Ta-ta: keeping a colour-pattern board is a really good idea, thanks!

@Trenchcoat:
what do you have most of in your wardrobe/in your selection of tops? Basics or statement pieces? I would go for what you are in lack of.

-------------

I have been thinking some more about it, and ... I really like my not-so-colourful wardrobe. I would like to add a few more interesting items - some print and some colour, but really I am happy with the content of the wardrobe. I think the problem has much more to do with the fact that I am having a hard time getting out of my comfort zone, meaning that I stick to the same few items that I am 100% sure that I feel good in. That way I tend to end up in the same combinations, which is stupid since my current wardrobe of 65 pieces could easily make many more (great) outfits. I will spend some time this weekend trying on outfits to find more outfits that I feel good in - I am too lazy to go for anything but what I know works when getting dressed in the morning, so I need to put it in my calendar, so to speak.

Also I did some shopping (only semi-related to the problem, since I do not think that shopping is the solution in my case); what appears to be the perfect black skirt for me, from Malene Birger. And a stripe skirt from H&M that I had been eyeing, but kept telling myself was silly to purchase. I decided that I could use some silly, so now I will give it a try if it fits and does not wrinkle like crazy (online purchase)

Im just like you. I dont like colour. My colours are navy, black, cream, grey and olive. Thats it. One extra colour which I believe is classic is old pink. Burgundy is also pretty but not my colour.

Why do you think that you always fall back to the same pieces. Maybe you have too many pieces. Try to buy only the pieces that you absolutely love. I never go shopping when i am in a phase of not liking my wardrobe. I go on tumblr and make a moodboard and then I will buy a piece.

Like I mentioned in my wardrobe, it comes down to the fact that I am lazy and only want to wear outfits I feel 100% comfortable in, so I just need to take the time to try on new outfits once in a while

@Trenchcoat Do you shop in stores or online? I can't do online as it always results in a bad fit. Also how do you buy off tumblr? Search the items elsewhere? I'm super curious about how people shop.
