The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #6

Welcome back! You were missed! It is finally getting cold where I live. It might acually snow... Which is unheard off where I live:lol: I have bought what I needed this season and I feel quite shoppedout right now. I will post my purchases later today.

Betina: I would try at least. Even though your money would be tied up at the Acne store (I am guessing you would get a card/reciept worth 3700 to spend in-store?), you still save a lot of money. If any of your friends want to buy something Acne, they could buy a part of your 3700DKK.

Thank you for your thoughts. That what was I was thinking as well. It is just such a hazzle. I really do not have time to go there this week since I have my exam on thursday and I have to study. Also the ones I saw marked down looks really shine? Not sure that they are similar or if it is just the photo - I think they are only available in nubuck.

^Where did you see the boots? I have never seen shiny acne boots:huh:

Eizhowa How was London. So the jeans you have bought on pinterest! What did you buy else? I will show you a picture of the camel jacket on polyvore

I'm actually not looking for boots and a coat anymore. I feel like there wont be a real winter this year. I'm already thinking of S/S season. And I want to invest in pastels en taupe/blush colours. I think that I want to buy a lot of french camis in taupe and pastel colours.

A lot of the items I bought in London are basic or semi-basic, so I don't really know if I should count them as a part of the 4-5 items or not. I went with "not":D

I bought
4-5 items:
- Barbour utility jacket
- Porselli in Damson
- Green cashmere sweater
- Navy COS sweater with sleeve details

I also found a pair of un-claimed Acne Melrose pumps at work, and I have been gifted a traditional norwegian wool sweater.

That means I am done for the season. 9-ish main items and 2 items gifted/found. I'll post pictures later. I haven't found a picture of all the items yet...

I also found a lot of basic wool sweaters and jeans in London. I've pinned everything to my pinterest.

eizhowa I cannot wait to check out your Pinterest! Everything you bought sounds so good.

Out of pure necessity, I bought two bras today - I desperately needed them because nothing fits me anymore. So they are my first purchases of 2014 along with a few sale buys my mom actually got for me. Lingerie does not count, hopefully? :P

Here they are ...

Trenchcoat, I have been thinking about that a lot, and am in the process of putting together a list ... Well, might as well do it now. :D The things in bold are what I need to buy, and the others I already have.

  • Denim shorts
  • Parka/military jacket
  • Denim jacket
  • White dress, something made from cotton and very light, midi length, possibly with some broderie anglaise?
  • Printed trousers
  • A skirt in a pastel colour
  • Striped top in black & white
  • Trench coat
  • Sunglasses - need desperately

I would love more things, but am really trying to cut back. Other things I'd like are some nice basic tees, camis with lace, a cropped colorful cardigan (I have none!) ... How about you? :flower:

Juliette: No, lingerie does not count:flower: They look very nice and comfortable. I haven't pinned the navy blue COS sweater though. It is not on the COS website...:(

Trenchcoat: I don't know if I have any SS essentials. I like wearing cropped jeans/trousers, Porsellis, plain tops, and I have two summer dresses and a pair of sandals for really warm weather. We don't really have much of a summer where I live:rolleyes:

My current SS wishlist:
- Tan sandals
- Black silk cami
- ACNE t-shirt?

And I am always looking for a trenchcoat and a Little Black Dress.

I do not have any doubts that they are genuine. It is a good store (their) webshop. I just can't believe that flashlight can make nubuck look so shiny

^I didn't really doubt their authenticity. I would just really like to see shiny nubuck boots:lol:

zara.com

I was looking for a big bag for school and stuff and found this zara basket. What do you think?

These are my recent buys btw:

zara.com

hm.com

I'm so proud of myself for not buying many stuff in the sales.

Trenchcoat: I don't trust Zara pictures. They make the items look completely different from the real thing. As we don't have a Zara in my part of the country, I can't give any imput. I think once you see it you will know if you like it and its quality.

The trousers are pretty irl and i love the fact that they are high waisted. I will go to the store to see the bag. Did u want a picture of the camel jacket btw ?

^You sent me a picture a couple of weeks ago. I think you also posted it in one of the threads on TFS. Did you get another jacket?

No haha, I mean do you want to see a real life picture of it? I've received it a while ago and get many compliments for it. I love to wear it with an all black outfit

BTW, I need your opinion on something.

I haven't worn my new ACNE boots yet and today I discover a webshop that has marked them down 2000 DKK (they were 3700 originally) - in my size. The ACNE store does not offer returns and only offer exchanges within the first 7 days.

I am kind of bummed since 2000 DKK is a LOT of money for me being a student. I am contemplating wether I should try phoning the store and find out of they would be able to make an exchange even though the 7 days has passed. I would have to find the money to buy the marked-down boots then, but I CAN do that. And then I would have 3700 to shop for at the ACNE store, and since I love their boots that would be nice to have. Also I was planning on buying a Canada scarf.

What would you do?

I'd say ask them for an adjustment ... nothing to lose.

I haven't done any shopping in awhile, but saw a picture in a magazine of some black sandals by a designer I already own & love that are really gorgeous and not tooo expensive (though I'm sure some of you would disagree with me ;)) Thinking about those for spring ...

^I think she got the boots from the official Acne stores, but they have been discounted at a different online store.

Trenchcoat: Oh, I see. You could post the picture here?

Eizhowa, hope you had a great time in London. The goods you purchased sure speak for themselves, so I am sure at least the shopping experience has been great. :)

Betinapple, I would ask for an exchange too, otherwise just get a gift card if possible. So annoying that happened.

Oh, I spoke to EvaH recently, she had health problems and is busy with Uni, but should be better by now.

Juliette, welcome back! :flower:

I recently closed my FW season shopping, because my list is completed and I have to say I didn't buy anything that wasn't on it.
The Iris&Ink silk shirt was sold out for weeks and then I found a perfect one on French Connection sales. Received it in only 2 days and am really happy about it. I have very good experiences with FCUK and also my favourite LBD happens to be theirs.

I also decided not to buy a new dress for the upcoming ceremony, but use the one I already have instead. I just bought new tights to renew the outfit, black ones with golden dots, Ta-ta should be proud. ^_^ I love polka dots on tights, these are my third pair, they are so fun to wear.

frenchconnection, asos

Believe me, I found it really odd as well, but flashlight can work wonders

I think I have decided not to do anything about it. I really have no time to take care of it this week due to my exam, and I would still have to come up with 1700 DKK more, and since I have been spending quite a lot of money lately I really do not feel like it, even though I could. It annoys me, but I keep thinking I could have worn them already, and then there would not be the possibility to exchange them anyhow.

BTW, thank you for your thoughts as well Jina.
