The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #8

@Eizhowa: It is not that I consider it overpriced, neccesarily - I just do not have unlimited resources

@Ta-ta: I have absolutely no idea what contemporary prices are?

It would be a good investment piece, but it would also mean that I have less money to spend in London.

It's kind of that mid-range between high street and designer ... nice stuff but not outrageous  Like Marc by Marc Jacobs is 'contemporary.'

@Eizhowa: here you go :smile:

@Ta-ta: ah, yeah - you could definetly say that.

Ok, if it is on the outnet then I can agree that the price is doable. I know IRO jackets can go for 400+ euros and I consider that way too much for a jacket that is basically a cardigan... The boucle jacket looks good! I really like that it has very little synthetic fibres. Most "boucle" jackets do these days.

^ it is not on the outnet anymore, unfortunately. It is a style that has been in their collection previously, and is a part of the SS15 collection as well. So it is full priced (and I have tried searching for it in ebay and trendsales - no such luck).

On the one hand I think it would be silly, in case I find something more interesting in London, but at the same time I do not know what that would be? I dont have any other expensive wishes atm, and I am definetly not making expensive impulse purchases. The only thing I could imagine "wanting" money for, is if I where to find a Mulberry Willow bag at an outlet price - but I am actually very happy with my bag selection atm. and I want it in black with silver hardware, so what are the odds? Other than that I have a Mulberry calendar on my list, but that shouldnt be too expensive if I were to find one in the outlet store. And lastly, my boyfriend wants to go to the Burberry Outlet, and I have heard that they have trenchcoats as well, and even though I want one some day, I really dont feel like I need a trenchcoat ATM - it would be a nice addition, but I have plenty of outerwear apropriate for spring weather.

Sorry for my rambling - I so need to learn how to make snap decissions

Well, I started a thread for the 10 wardrobe must-haves that we talked about earlier ... please feel free to comment

Wondering if anyone would be interested in a (fantasy) thread about your 4-5 pieces if money were no object? Maybe some would be the same, and some different ...

If money were no issue:

1) Chanel white reissue bag with silver hardware
2) Chanel tan reissue bag with silver hardware
3) Chanel black reissue bag with silver hardware
4) Chanel black reissue with gold hardware
... I am assuming the increase in my insurance premium will not be an issue either?:innocent:

I might be able to do with just three Chanel bags. If I had too:P

I will check out the 10 wardrobe musthaves thread:smile:

As far as bags go, I am happy with my Happy  Right now there's a video about the bag on the Lanvin website, and there I learned that the bag only came out in the summer of 2008. So that same year has to be when I bought my first one. Then it took me a mere 6 years to replace the one that failed

Ideally, since I love straw bags, I would like one in straw ... but to my knowledge, one has never been made. There have been a number of snake ones, but I am unsure about a snake bag ... I like my snake in very small doses.

Also if money were no object, I would have various ballets custom made in the style of a few years ago, including a black one with an iridescent snakeskin captoe ... and a purple and a raspberry pair, while I'm about it.

I might get some Tod's denim trousers ...

I just realized that if Porsellis are a italian in size, and a IT38 is a EU39, then I wear a whole size larger in Porselli than any other shoe... No wonder they are so comfortable:lol:

I am considering picking up a pair of Dicker boots in charcoal/black. I need something with a small heel, and there are tons of gently used Dicker boots on the second hand marked. Betina, I know you have the Ash boots that are similar. Do they get a lot of wear? Are they too hot too wear in the summertime? Are they flattering, do you find?

Caramel, you're from Bergen... Do a lot of (douchbag-y) people wear Dicker boots in Bergen? I have never seen anyone wear them in my town, but if only posh people/"sosser" wear them in Bergen then I won't get them... I am probably moving to Bergen this year and it would be a shame if I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing my shoes up there. (Don't worry, I will also bring rainboots...)

Edit: I just realized the second hans ones I am considering are a semi-matte calfskin, not suede. Hmmmm.... I am not sure how I feel about that.

I haven't noticed Italian shoe sizes being any different than French ... though I certainly notice a difference in clothes!

Wore my new blouse last night ... I like it. I noticed as I was leaving the restaurant I was getting a lot of glances from men, and they all looked faintly puzzled  Then I realized the blouse was too high concept for them. It's asymmetrical, the most noticeable feature being that one side has a sleeve, and the other is sleeveless. No wonder there's no boutique here  I feel like I could use this blouse as some type of test ...

^I would have loved to see that:lol: I suppose all mens clothes are symmetrical, but what a thing to be puzzled by!

I think all Porsellis are different sizes though. I know my suede ones in 38 are much bigger than the others. But hey, as long as they all fit and "hug" my foot well I am not going to complain:smile:

Italian clothing sizes has me completely puzzled though... I think I must keep ordering items that are meant to be oversized, because everything I order is always bigger than I would expect. I thought my Pomandere blazer in IT38 was going to be very snug, but it is more like a spring jacket. I am not complaining though. I love the fit. It was just unexpected.

I always need to go two sizes up from my usual French size to get the fit I want ...

^ That's right, they are two sizes apart.

I thought the Pinterest is made for this. But really if money wasn't an issue at all, I still would have some price limits for individual pieces. For instance I would never spend big moneys on basic tees etc. and also I wouldn't buy a 10k dress. Then the jewellery and accessories are something else. :innocent:

Betina, I would suggest you wait till going to London, you know the options there are limitless. I've banned myself from shopping till going to London myself (in June also), but I really don't need anything ATM (what I like is a different matter, it's always like that when the seasons are changing). Can't wait for weather to warm up a bit so I can finally start wearing my new patent brogues. I am looking forward to combine them with my long black trench.

Btw, eizhowa, I saw that the outnet has a great selection od Helmut Lang grey jeans, if you need some.

Let's talk again after you win the lottery

I don't know about you guys, but I am pretty sure I could spend several lottery millions on clothes if I tried.... Considering the price of luxury clothing and all...:innocent:

I don't know about several million, but I'm sure I could do something impressive if challenged

The problem with Pinterest and fashion fantasy is that you can't pin something you've only imagined ...

^Thats true. If you are imagining and dreaming of pieces akin to the "puzzeling" Lanvin top you have I can imagine that would be very difficult to find something to pin. I dream about grey jumpers so it is not as tough for me:innocent:

I used to draw my wishlists in my diary. That way it didn't matter if somebody else had thought of it before or not. I wish I was able to keep that habit up... It is so much fun to look at my drawings of outfits I wanted to wear several years ago.

I can't guarantee it, but it's definitely not something I've noticed, and I don't associate the Dicker boots with being particularly posh. To be honest, I don't feel like I see that many posh people around here. You have the NHH students who tend to look a little more put together (and the pearl earrings usually give them away), but otherwise I feel like it isn't very obvious. For some reason I imagine this is something more apparent in Stavanger?
