^Just another way salt increases our blood pressure:wink:

You're so right.

I received the dress today and it is very see-through, so it is going back.

Has any of you guys seen a blazer in this style (or other belted blazers) in a darker colour (black, navy, grey, pinstripe or maybe even a colour, just not white)? It is something like this I would want, but I am having a really hard time finding it..

Isabel Marant does a lot of belted jackets and blazers. Maybe worth checking out? A lot of her jackets are available on the second hand market.

We once had snow in June in MI! It's true, no salt here ... I can see how that would spot the leather.

You mean unlike me to buy an unbroken string of basics?

^ Just looked at the first 4 pages of Isabel Marant on Yoox, and saw several nice options. A peplum jacket without a belt, shawl collar with a belt, no lapels with a belt, and then I really liked a sleeveless belted one with fierce 80s shoulders ... Some of them are 25% off (today only) ...

Got my skirt today, and I really like it ... the fabric texture and construction are both quite interesting, so it feels less basic. I couldn't really see in the pix how it was made. It's also comfortable and lightweight. I'm not sure it's the most flattering skirt I have (it makes me look a little fluffy), but ... you can't have everything I suppose (and eat your ice cream too).

@Ta-ta: thank you for the tip about IM on yoox - unfortunately there wasn't anything there that suited my wishes/size. The search continues.

I was at a sample sale yesterday and bought a silk top at 90% off. Not something that was on my list, but my office uniform is jeans and a top, so I cannot get too many of them these days.

Also grabbed some work-out leggins.

My red jumper arrived a week ago, but I never got an alert from the post office so I won't be able to see how it fits until easter when I visit my parents again:(

That silk top is the perfection ♡♡♡♡ I've been looking for a silk top for a year, but have not found anything so good I am willing to spend so much money. And I am not sure I recognise good quality silk - how do you know that? The one that was the nearest to perfection was Filippa K's basic white silk blouse, buttons, collars... it was beautiful, but I'm not sure if I really am white collar-girl, I usually go for something little more detailed.

Softness and opacity are the main two things I look at when buying silk:smile:

But there are also several types of silk, like silk satin, washed silk etc. They all look and feel different, but softness and opacity are still the main factors of quality I think.

Thx, Tommygirl!

I try to avoid very sheer silk since I feel like it is often very fragile. But as Eizhowa says, there are various kinds. This is a satin quality. I have had good experiences with sand washed silk.

Thank you for the tips, ladies. I need to do research on this. Now my mind is circling around if I should buy that Filippa K blouse and then other one with some color and/or detail, something like Betinapple's top. I know I could find so much more range online shops, but I need to get to touch the fabric and try it on, before I make the purchase. I am too impatient to wait for my order first, then try it and propably end up to return it anyway, too much hustle for me

Jina, what about tropical-weight wool or lined wool crepe? I've had skirts like that I could wear much of the year here, but I know your climate is rather different  Maybe with special warm tights underneath? Our summers are quite hot and I hate to wear wool then unless I have to. Maybe you can find something in Paris! (I find it quite sad that I don't share a continent with Paris -_-)

Save

I was thinking of a lighter wool blend too. COS should have something suitable and I will probably wait for mid-season sales and check the outnet and yoox then. You are right about our climate though, I am not able to wear skirts and dresses in the coldest of winters, it's much too cold for me.
Also there was a slight change of plans. We are not going to Paris anytime soon, because we are getting a puppy instead (puppy > Paris anytime). :P

Betina, that is a very elegant top and I usually hate big ruffles. Sick and tired of the trend tbh.

I have ordered a summer dress, black trousers and some sandals from mango (all in multiple sizes) to try on. Will post pictures if any of them are keepers.

Wonder if I can get myself blacklistet at Mango as well...

@Jina: awww, you are getting a puppy! I would choose that over Paris any time as well. Which puppy are you getting?

Also thx! I don't mind ruffles, but you are right, they are kind of everywhere ATM.

@Eizhowa: I would be really interested in seeing those pants. I have never really gotten happy with the cheap mondays. The 27 is slightly too tight and the 28 is too big. Maybe I should just cave in an get the Selenas, although I am only able to find them at twice what I payed at Zalando.

My hubby came home yesterday after spending 10 days in the US. He got me the softest and nicest pima cotton tee from Vince, which is a brand we discovered when we were in NYC for our honeymoon - their lines for men and women are both gorgeous. The colour is really different for me, but I love it, and it looks great with my lightwash jeans. And I needed some new tees, so this was perfect ( along with the silver necklace he got me as well  )

I pinned the trousers for you  And what a kind husband you have

I am convinced the Drift jeans in a size 26 would have been the correct size for you. I actually prefer the drift jeans over the selenas for a lot of outfits, because they are more fitted. The selenas are still my go to trousers due to the comfort level and the fact that they go with everything though.

A puppy!! This will provide many shopping opportunities as well  Be sure to see the Your pet's style thread ... lately I've been getting my dogs' tags from Etsy. Don't think I've posted my latest acquisitions? I know I posted the last leash I bought ... I think I prefer adopting an older dog rather than a puppy, but working from home makes the situation a bit different. I realize now that I should have socialized Cookie (my only dog I've gotten as a puppy) more.

betina, is your T gold stripes, with maybe a red accent? I'm having trouble seeing in the little pic :D

I thought the striped top was camel and white stripes? Oh no it is the blue/black or gold/white dress issue all over again...
