The 50 Book Challenge (2012)

01. Jon Krakauer - Under the banner of heaven
02. Sharon M. Draper - Tears of a tiger
03. David Benioff - City of thieves
04. Isaac Marion - Warm bodies
05. George R. R. Martin - A feast for crows (ASOIAF #4)
06. Robert Schneider - Schlafes Bruder
07. Neil Gaiman - American Gods
08. Max Brooks - The zombie survival guide
09. Orson Scott Card - Ender's game
10. Ann Rule - The stranger beside me
11. Patrick Ness - The knife of never letting go

decided to list all the books i'm currently reading (i know it's a lot...i can never only read one book at a time)

Warm bodies:
Zombie "R" goes hunting, falls in love with a living girl and together they want to change the world (over simplified)
it sounds stupid and crazy, but it was actually pretty good. the writing was nice and was deeper than i had expected. i liked that the romance wasn't cheesy and the main focus of the story, although it was so essential to the plot, the way they fell in love felt very natural.

if you're interested in the book, watch the trailer, i usually hate book trailers, but this one is pretty good

1)The Vampire Diaries: The Return, Shadow Souls by L. J. Smith
2)La tete du chat by Βασίλης Αλεξάκης
3)The shadow of August by Sue Welford

5)Gossip Girl: You know You Love me by Cecily von Ziegesar
6)The Vampire Diaries: The Return, Midnight by L. J. Smith
7)Gossip Girl: All I want is Everything by Cecily von Ziegesar
8)Desert Flower by Waris Dirie Cathleen Miller
9)The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

My list is by no means impressive, but so far I've managed to read :D:
1. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson
2. Cat's Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut
3. The Road - Cormac McCarthy

Currently, I'm reading:
4. The Paris Wife - Paula McLain
5. Pygmy - Chuck Palahniuk

Though, I've got the feeling I probably won't finish Pygmy. I used to like Palahniuk, I still love his style, but it seems to me that he's getting more and more ridiculous when it comes to the plot .

I had the same feeling when I read Pygmy, it's really a bit ridiculous. And the protagonist's "language" is so tiring to read! It took me forever to finish it...

01 > Das böse Mädchen (engl: The Bad Girl, orig: Travesuras de la Niña Mala) < Mario Vargas Llosa
02 > The Crossing < Cormac McCarthy
03 > Schachnovelle (engl: Chess Story / The Royal Game) < Stefan Zweig
04 > Op. non cit. < Alan Isler
05 > Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close < Jonathan Safran Foer

I'm reading "Extremely loud,..." for the second time, it's been a few years and seeing the movie trailer really made me want to read it again.

This is such a good idea, I really need to read more!

1. The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath..I thought it would be quite pretentiously written but I actually found it very easy to relate to and it was really honestly written.
2. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky..I enjoyed it, I thought it was refreshing to see a portrayal of a teenage life through a boys eyes. My mum couldn't finish it, found it too 'teen'.

Currently reading Lord Of The Flies, by William Golding.

Gave up on Lord Of The Flies for now, couldn't get into it. Read 'To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee' instead, really enjoyed it.

1. The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath
2. Perks Of Being A Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
3. To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee

Now reading 'The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald' :flower:

^ I had to read Lord of the Flies in high school. It gets better towards the middle/end. It's definitely not one of those books that grips you right from the start.

I finished Water for Elephants a few weeks ago and it was okay, but I found it a little disappointing. I'm currently reading Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because it's been so hyped lately that I decided to see what all the fuss was about. It's good so far, though I haven't even gotten to the middle of it. I find myself reading through the parts regarding Lisbeth faster than the parts having to do with Mikael. He's a bit boring for me. I'm also reading Why is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me by Mindy Kaling just for fun. It's a fast read and she's hilarious. The problem with reading these books on my iPad is the glare is a killer for my eyes. My eyes strain after an hour or so.
