I'm so very envious of all of you that looks good in blonde hair!
Its my dream hair colour (and I have had all, from blue to black). But blonde is the only one that i'm scared of not looking good in. I got quite pale skin but with a slight olive undertone that i always thought wouldnt match with very blonde hair.
or do anyone got pics with someone kind of that skincolour and blonde hair that looks good?

lemme list some blondes i like.

light tan/in between/tan/or some olivey models/golden
* Carmen Kass
* Hannah Davis
* Inguna Butane
* Anna Selezneva
* Natasha Poly(old blonde looks, im not loving the newer blonde)
* Candice Swanepoel
* Daria Werbowy - had super subtle blonde highlights
* Doutzen Kroes(i prefer her as light brown!)

pale cool/neutral/ash(* these are the girls i follow cuz i have similar skintone)
* Snejana Onopka *
* Vlada Roslyakova *
* Maryna Linchuk *
* Toni Garrn *
* Ruslana Korshunova - dark blonde
* Natalia Vodianova - dark blonde
* Julia Stegner
* Lara Stone
* Caroline Trentini
* Gemma Ward
* Lily Donaldson
* Tanya Dziahileva
* Hana Soukupova
* Jessica Stam
* Sasha Pivovarova

first off i want to say i genuinely think not everyone can pull off Blonde hair.
butttttt there are soooo many different variations of blonde! weaved in natural looking highlights or a more solid blonde. dark blonde borderline light browns, somewhere in the middle medium, light and soft blondes and extreme platinums. definitely talk to a few hairdressers, they should ask you about maintenance as well! take your time! it can be a big change if you have never tried anything blonde

i like to think of myself as not high maintenance but im very good about going in the salon every 4-5 weeks for root touchups! depending on how dark your natural color is and how light you wanna go it can be a lot of time, effort, and money so you gotta go into it whole heartedly. plus you need to take very good care of bleached hair! hair masques, easy on the heat styling, good products etc

through trial and error and sh*tty hairdressers. ive learned that gold blonde isnt for me and light ash is more flattering for my skin. super fair, neutral/some say cool, blushes pink cheeks but im not my skin isnt all pink so i dont say cool very often. i wear all kinda of colors in clothes but i prefer 'cooler' makeup. true pinks, bluish or purpleish undertones in eyeshadows, blushes, lipglosses. i dont love golden(unless its light gold-champagney)/peachy as much but it looks fine, just a preference...and i only really wear that type in summer time, not that im much darker because i mainly burn and do tan but its super light.

thank you. i didn't think of all these models and they look very good in blond hair. i think my complexion are a bit like natasha poly but slightly paler, and she looks with good blond hair. but i want that perfect golden colour.
thinking of going to wig store and trying out different colours. Or maybe buy one so I can be blonde when I want, because my hair is very destroyed by a lot of bleaching.

i dont like Natasha most recent blonde look but all the past blonde looks were sooo incredibly beautiful on her, golden and when she was rockin' that killer tan!

lately my frustration with having blonde hair is how it looks so different in diff lighting/pictures etc like you know how ppl with light eyes absorb colors and look like they 'change' colors. my family had a xmas thing last night and i swear my hair and skin looked different in every picture cuz the lighting at my mom's house was so funky. its something i still have to get used to.

yea, her hair is very very yellow now isnt it?
ok. I have to admit. I have tried to bleach myself blonde one time and was a complete disaster. Its all the bleaching that worry me so much. I have very light brown hair, in all those colour charts its listed as dark blonde but i dont think. i'll see if i kind find som pics on the computer with me very very bleached.

are you natural blonde?
lightning is always a problem, try set the camera on some function just for indoors or something like that, it use to work.

here i am again. i just read the reviews for Shimmer Lights and supposedly its very drying and smells horrible. im very picky with scents! so any recs on a good purple shampoo that isnt stinky?

nope im not a natural blonde! im a brunette. my biggest deal with my not going blonde for the longest time was dark brows but through trial and error i learned how to bleach(with creme! not liquid/runny mess that you normally put on you head), tint/dye etc hairdressers dont recommend bleaching because if it gets in your eyes... well ya know! haha but seriously i was telling my friends how do you think all these models & celebs transition to blonde? sometimes its just necessary if you dont want to look like groucho but with beautiful blonde hair but still GROUCHO!

def go to a good salon. the one i go to ive been 'watching' for a while. i usually go there to get Bumble & Bumble products(and Kerastase when they used to sell it) and all the girls who work there have beautiful hair and all their clients walk out with beautiful hair! all colors look very much like they could be found in nature lol and its done well, not funky chunky fake looking messes.

whenever im picking a picture to bring into the salon i try to pick the one with the best lighting. sometimes backstage pictures of models arent that great cuz they pick up the yellow lighting. some editorials are 'warmed' up via photoshop so the hair will look more golden/orangey than it naturally is.

light brown hair is def a good place to start with a gradual weaved in highlights(but talk to hairdresser they might do more but i think highlights look better in the long run & way easier when growing out). like Gisele, her roots arent soo bad cuz her hair isnt super dark, she can go a while and not do touchups but it still looks pretty good.

but i have to say that blonde can be a very long process. i have been getting full weaved in highlights...many times to get the more solid look i have now and im still not finished! i have a couple more session to get it the way i want. for example when Lindsay Lohan first went blonde in what 2005? she did it all platinum in a span of a few days. it was not hot cuz it was just solid and flat. now her blonde is might better cuz it has more highlights and lowlights, texture is important if you want it to look more natural.

im going to post more pictures of blondes later because i think this post is getting a little too long! im like Aaliyah writing you a four page letter haha

^^please do sweetie!!:flower: your tips are always welcomed!^_^
I'm also a brunette turned darker blonde and I love it..I showed some recent edita pics from VSFS and the result is very similar but a bit less reddish because I'm very white and pale :D The trick is to start with blond highlights and go from there..After two years of highlights I just recently dyed it all :flower:

Blonde eyebrows are very difficult to maintain, and by constantly having to dye or bleach them, they become too light and artificial-looking.

Blonde hair can take darker eyebrows, unless one has extremely dark, almost black eyebrows. In which case blonde hair would probably look unnatural against their skin anyway. While it's true that some natural light blondes have equally light eyebrows, many also have medium brown eyebrows.

thank you Melfreya! ^_^

i havent followed Edita much but she has great hair color as well!

i think ive always wanted to go blonde because ive done every shade of brown & red once, black a couple of times, a bit of blonde highlights...i went the lightest brown but i felt like since im pale as well that it would help to have even lighter hair. my younger sister says blonde makes my eyes *pop* :woot:

im thinking of trying Pantene Silver Expressions shampoo. it got good reviews on MakeupAlley and if it doesnt work then its not so bad because its cheap!

i agree ive had light blonde eyebrows and they were such a pain! now they are dark blonde/light brown? i think. my hairdresser put the same color she used on my roots for my brows...i think next time it will probably come out near perfect. the problem this time was the owner put like a dark brown on first so they came out groucho dense black then we put the root color so of course it was overall too dark...but i used creme bleach myself just to lift it a little bit. it came out to match my roots exactly.

i forget where i read it but they said (its more feminine) for brunettes can have slightly lighter brows than on their heads and blondes slightly darker unless its naturally(born that way) as light as the hair on their head in which case it usually looks right on them. ive been trying to tell one of my friends to lighten her brow powder/liner whatever. she dyes her hair black and i thought she was using black brow makeup then she tells me its gray liner...im like eep! girllll it looks black though! :lol:

okay phew! now onto some pictures

Just want some feedback!

My hair is naturally a kinda darkish golden blonde:
aoife042.jpg

But for the past, oh, 3 years or so I've been highlighting it so it looks a lot blonder...:

I use not really like my natural colour but now I am thinking of going back to it, just letting the highlight grow out. But I love my hair the way it is now too! What should I do?! Oh and I didn't know whether to put this in here or the style my hair thread...don't think it really matters. Don't think I'll ever dye it any darker!

both is beautiful!

but i prefer the lighter! i just love that ash color with your light pink skintone!
when i think of gold i think younger/summery/peachy/pale gold makeup, ash i think more mature 'done'/winter/neutral palette. does that make sense? thats my two cents :smile:

i think you can just let it grow and if you change your mind you can rehighlight so its not that bad! def dont dye over it! its too beautiful and if it doesnt turn out right it can be bad.

okay so i just bought Pantene Silver Expressions shampoo. i might try it out tomorrow so we will see. its just for maintanence so ill use once a week followed by my regular conditioners, im not expecting major changes because i really like my color right now.

right now im using John Frieda Sheer Blonde Lustrous Touch(for moisture!) shampoo and conditioners. sometimes i use the regular Sheer Blonde 'highlighting' conditioner to mix it up. since the regular one is not as moisturizing i just keep it on longer. i loveee the scent so much and so far so good so i hope i never have to change shampoos! (btw im extremely picky when it comes to products with fragrances!)

I agree that both are beautiful. I am more partial to the golden-blonde, but it's just my personal preference, as you look lovely with both golden and cooler tones.

Kissablekae made a good point; since both colors flatter you equally, the choice is more about the image you want to project. Golden blonde is more playful and bohemian (think Sienna Miller, Kate Hudson), while cool, pale blonde is more refined and fashion-forward (think Gwyneth Paltrow, women in Hitchcock movies).

thanks GasolineRainbow, i love your user name! i love seeing rainbows in gasoline puddles ^_^

this morning i tried the Pantene Silver Expressions shampoo which is purple. its okay. im not expecting any change so much as NO change to my hair! i just got it done on Saturday so really i just want my highlights to stay ash. i plan to use this shampoo once a week for maintanenece.

* clean : i suppose its okay but i dont really know i dont use much hair products and i wash my hair daily.

* moisture : actually quite drying! i would suggest a strong condtioner or maybe even hair mask after.

* scent : i dont love it. i dont hate it either. its not quite fruity or citrusy but its sharp but bareable if im using once a week. i prefer soft neutral scents like Sheer Blonde. since i use my Sheer Blonde conditioner afterwards i end up smelling like that and not Pantene.

* stains : no purple stains on my hands, nails or hair. most reviews said this shampoo doesnt stain but other brands have been known to do so be careful!

I've naturally got tannish strawberry-blonde hair, and just last week I've gone almost blonde! I got a full head of highlights, I really love the colour and I think it suits my complexion a lot more than darker hair, which I've done before and was contemplating. I think next time I'll get my hair completely dyed blonde rather than jst get the highlights.

Any really good products anyone could recommend for DIY hair lightening? Just something discreet and subtle, 'cause I think I'd like my hair just a bit lighter than it is.

^ i dunno man i wouldnt mess with my hair myself if im going lighter! id just go to my hairdresser. but its better to not too much to your hair at once. i wait at least a month between. soft, touchable hair is sexy!

Right now, I'm obsessed with Scarlett Johansson's hair color in Vicky Cristina Barcelona... But my own hair color is more similar to Hannah Murray's in Skin (mid-blond, kinda golden, but with some slightly darker roots). Not sure it would be possible to change my color that easily without bleaching... What do you think ?
