Thanks guys! I think my plan is as follows.. stay this natural shade of blonde through fall and winter (give my hair time to recuperate) and through the year add the blonde highlights and by next summer I'll be a very pale blonde again! I've been blonde pretty much my whole life, except for one year I tried the redhead and brunette thing (brown was okay, red..) and so my hair got pretty fried bringing it back from the dark shades I went. Maybe I'll do a little timeline of all the blondes I've had later haha. Last summer I was WHITE WHITE WHITE blonde.

i love my blonde hair but am sick of having roots after only 2 days :(

can anyone recomend a good toner shampoo ?? i used to buy some granny one in sachets but i cant find it any were any more :(

I'm not sure if this helps with roots (unless it's a dirty blonde like mine), but this $6 stuff really works.. it's a leave-in toner type thing that you put through your hair after conditioning. You can find it at drug stores.. I use the one for grey hair since it's purple, which cancels out orange/yellow tones. :flower:

I have only recently gone blonde. I love the Marilyn stuff from Lush.
Also, John Freda is really good. I love the deep nourishing conditioner treatment!

Hi  I have a question: I see in all those Swedish Fshion Blogs girls who have really really(!)light blond, like platin/ash blonde. I know they are naturally blonde, but I can tell that not THAT blonde. I think they're hair is a lot darker(but still blonde). So, my question is, I am naturally blonde as well, and I want to have the very light blonde that they have, so how can I get it? what's they're secret?
Please all the swedish members - tell me :P

I think I can answer that even if I'm not Swedish... Blonde highlight spray, and just highlights in general + blonde shampoo, love the one from John Frieda.

S-Fashionista, what kind of natural blonde are you? I am considered naturally blonde in haircolor charts (around a level 6.5-7), but if I were in Sweden and I referred to myself as a blonde, the Swedes would think I was delusional. To the untrained eye, my hair is light brown.

If I used a blonde highlight spray, my hair would turn orangey. If I wanted to go very light, it would require at least 20 minutes of bleach, then hairdye. That's because my hair has yellow undertones. The Swedish blondes you are referring to have ashy undertones and are naturally a level 8 and above. It's not difficult for them to achieve a platinum blonde. Many don't even have to bleach their hair before applying hairdye. And I once knew a Dutch girl whose hair would turn white-blonde from the sun in the summer.

So...if you are an ashy level 8 or above, follow Ida's advice. Otherwise definitely go to a hair salon for a successful result.

wow thanks you all!

The Ida- thanks! what is a Blonde highlight spray? where can I get it?

GasolineRainbow- I'm really blonde(blonde with blue eyes and very white skin, I'm German, so that kind of blonde. but my hair in the sun becoming lighter but not ashy as your friend's hair, it becomes more yellow-golden).
I mean, my blonde is more a Yellow blonde, when the Swedish have more white blonde.
I don't know what a level 8, how can I know what's my level of naturall blond?

again, thanks you all! I'm so happy you answered me, I thought no one will understand what I want with all those Sweden blonde explanations of mine :-P

^I agree with others, it's best to find a truly good haircolorist.. because blonde can so easily go wrong. Make sure you clarify whether you want it more of a cool blonde or a warm blonde. Please don't attempt at-home peroxide/bleaches, they almost never come out right... trust me I've been there

You know those charts at hair salons that have swatches of hair in different colors with numbers under them? Those are the haircolor levels, and the light/dark variations are more or less consistently numbered, no matter what the brand.

As Haute Femme mentioned, skintone is important. Being very pale with blue eyes doesn't automatically mean that "Swedish blonde" will be flattering on you. I also have very white skin and light eyes, and would look good with light blonde hair, but that cool-toned color would wash me out. Best to seek advice from a professional.

Your hair color is gorgeous!!! I would kill to have that color naturally. Kill. You can totally rock the white-blonde look, you're already pretty much there.

You know what, you don't need to do much. Look for a blonde highlight spray that Ida mentioned at hair care stores. Still, those have bleaching chemicals in them, so try out something natural first. Do a chamomile tea, lemon diluted in water, or vodka rinse through dry hair every few days. (Sitting in the sunlight while it dries will boost the effect, although the weather in Germany right now probably isn't sunny.) It really works, I swear! Those ingredients dry out the hair, so follow with a good conditioner when you wash it out.

If you're still not pleased with the lightening effect, best to go to a salon and get highlights. Not a full dye job, as you definitely don't need it. The stylist will know the right color to use, and because your hair is already so light, it won't be that damaging, lucky girl. The most important thing to ask for is that the highlights don't start right at your roots, but at least a couple of centimeters away from them. This will give the most born-with-it effect, and will be much prettier as the highlights grow out.

oh, thanks..
I think I delted my comment, I'm glad you saw it.

thanks a lot for you comment(s), you really helped me :flower:
I'll try the chamomile tea, lemon and vodka rinse and if it will not be light enough(I must say that I'm kinda obsess with a specific blond tone that is really white that I want), I'll go to the salon and do some highlights.

i bought the wrong one last week! i havent used it because i dont want more gold...ill exchange for the grey hair one today! i really hate the scent but ill give it a try at home since i have a feeling its gonna be expensive to go back to the salon again to re-tone and who knows if another session will be enough for me!

also i have a question does it come off on your pillow or clothes?
