Do the John Frieda products really work? I mean do they lighten blonde hair her more - make the hair more shiney, light,....?

Goldwell is amazing, if you can get your hands on it! I'm a natural light blond and it really restores my hair! Kerastase works wonders, too...But you might also want to look into getting some from the paul mitchell line! :flower:

^it really depends on where you reside...your best bet would be to go to a professional salon when purchasing products such as goldwell...your local drugstore rarely carries professional products as it is...:flower:

^you're welcome honey!

i've just bleached my hair it has mostly gone white blonde which is what i was aiming for.... although i still have peachy bits on the top from where my hair was red.

another bleaching session and i'll be there:D

^ oh good, I'm glad it's doing what you want.

last friday I got subtle thin highlight on my naturally dark ashy blonde hair and I thought it was not bad, but not really what I wanted so today I got a ton more highlights so I'm mostly blonde except for the bottom back (short hair). I have gotten compliments but I'm not totally sure whether I like it. still getting used to it. I haven't had blonde hair in over a year!

im quite excited about being blonde as i've only ever been dark shades or brown or most recently bright red!

i'll keep an update as im bleaching it again tonight as im too impatient to give my hair a break:innocent:

wait...so you only used bleach to get it to the very light white shade of blonde? i heard that's bad for your hair; that you should never bleach it to that stage; otherwise, the hair just falls off gradually...i'd pay close attention to it...but to each their own, i suppose...

remember to use a good deep conditioning treatment; as your hair sounds really overprocessed :flower:

yeah i've just used bleach i grew out alot of the red colour that was on my hair so i started off with new untouched hair i could bleach but because of the way i have cut my hair there was still red left on the top. the red hair that had previously been coloured is still a kind of peachy orange colour but i quite like it as it goes with the cut:heart:

my natural colour is a light brown so leaving the bleach on for the recommended time took this hair to a nearly white blonde, but using a purple shampoo makes it white in appearence.

im using aussie 3 minute conditioner for coloured hair because i know my hair loves the stuff and is keeping it lovely and soft.

if i had the money i would get my hair cut and coloured proffesionally but since im a one of those poor students i like to abuse my hair myself:lol:

I was platinum blonde for about a year, and I just went to a dark brownish blondish kinda colour.. according to the box I used it's "dark golden blonde" or golden sunset, haha and I'm not sure how much I like it yet! It may be because I had a botched salon job that left me in tears because it was so pooorly done. I ended up with reddish muddy brown hair with blonde highlights after I brought in a picture of Mischa Barton's hair circa season 3 of the OC

Anyway, this is the before and after.

Before: (I actually didnt have visible roots for once, haha)

Not the best lighting, or the best quality photos.. but I look nearly identical in both, hahaha

^ Definitely LOVE the second shade. it looks very natural and pretty with your skin color!

My hair is so between colors, right now... I'm thinking about adding some auburn to it. Haha, I just realized I posted on page 2 of this thread. whoa!

^^ I prefer the first shade. The second shade is quite dull, whereas the first is a lot more vibrant!

Anyone who wants even blonder hair (and I'm warning all of you that you should only leave it on for 5 min. or it will really lighten it) get Frederic Fekkai (sp) blonding shampoo, it's $20 and purple and will last you. It turns yellow/brasiness into white blonde hair. It's my little secret when my stylist doesn't leave some of my hair under long enough. Sephora and Bath and body works sells it. If your hair darkens like the above, this will lighten it back up and is perfect for in between color appts.

Could you tell me is the actual name 'blonding shampoo' because I can't find it? :( All I can find is the baby blonde shampoo. Thank you! :flower:

I did love the first it was just waaay too much upkeep! And the second photo doesn't reflect the second colour TOO well, it's just a macbook photo with poor lighting but I will try and get a better one!

If youre in Canada.. Shoppers sells one called Blue Shade or something.. otherwis I know people use Shimmer Lights!

I;m a big fan of golden blondes now! I used to love the white blonde, but after I left it, I realized how much more natural and flattering golden tends to be. Lots of people can pull off white, but even if they can pull it off, it's often not the best colour for their complexion. My hair is a lot more golden now too, as the dye fades. (I swear, I'm posting a better picture! Haha)
