Confirming that they’ll be moving ahead with a new season without Lauren Conrad, it has been confirmed that Audrina Patridge and the gang will be back for another season of “The Hills” this fall.
According to a breaking announcement from MTV, the show’s regulars including Miss Patridge, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt, Lo Bosworth, Justin Bobby and Brody Jenner will all be taking part - along with a few “fresh faces.” "Spencer and Heidi will be newlyweds, so the stakes are higher than ever before for the two to make things work. Viewers will find out life in Los Angeles only gets more complicated as friendships, relationships and loyalties are tested like never before,” MTV tells in their statement.
And while the loss of Miss Conrad will definitely change things up, the remaining cast members aren’t getting too panicked.
When asked whether she thinks the show will continue to be successful, Audrina replied: “Yes, we’re like family to our audience.”

Is anyone even watching this season?

I watched the first 2 episodes but Lauren was in it so little that I've stopped tuning in. I do wonder if dan and jessi from mtv will continue to do their aftershow next season? I hope not. The rest of the cast needs to fade away into oblivion.

I sometimes watch it online just to see the Lauren and Lo scenes but I don't watch it religiously like I used to when Lauren had the main focus. It sucks that MTV is essentially ruining her show, do they not see that the ratings are continuing to drop the less they focus on Lauren?

ITA. For the past few season Lauren has been awfully boring and increasingly looking worse. The Hills needs a resurrection and Kristin is Jesus. (not literally, obviously) Just because Lauren fans are sobbing and still hold a grudge towards Kristin for dating Stephen, who was in fact her boyfriend, doesn't mean the show will fail. If you don't like Kristin don't watch and don't complain. Lauren left by choice if you wanna be pissed be mad at Dirty Sanchez LC . Kristin hasn't been in the spotlight in a long time yet she is still causing a stir everytime her name is mentioned. There is no need to foam at the mouth just because Kristin is rightfully taking the throne.


On to what this board is actually about....Kristin looks amazing! The colors on the HL dress are very complimentary with her skin tone. She has really great legs, definitely the best from any of Hills or Laguna Beach characters. I love that she is such a natural beauty.She doesn't need cosmetic surgery or enough make up to beat the Iraqis. She's just gorgeous. She has on very little make up and yet she's glowing. I don't mind her hair this way but I do wish that it was wavy, that's definitely the best hair on her and I think it fits her personality best too. But overall I think she looks incredible. I'm so glad we are seeing more of her now.

Both Lauren and Kristin were popular off Laguna... but Adam Divello really liked Lauren... He liked the fact that she was able to show emotions thru her facial expressions... it made for good story telling or the way HE liked to tell his story with special lighting, faces, looks, places... almost everything about his work is about the image (or used to be).

It would not suprised me if the producers did indeed offer Kristin her own show... it is not like MTV could not have finance both spin-offs. Last year, they gave spin-offs to both Brody and Whitney. But the premise of The Hills would never have worked with Kristin since she was already all Hollywood then. Plus, I think MTV knew that Lauren resonated with a huge percentage of females her age.

The Hills popularity started growing mid-way thru season 2... it peaked in season 3 and slowed down in the 4th season and now it is at its nadir with just a couple million viewers. All the popular storylines in season 3 had to do with Lauren... her friendship with Heidi, her romance with Brody (that viewers could not get enough of), Jason returning and getting engaged, etc... The best lines that people quote from the show are from Lauren. The highest rated episode EVER (the Paris trip) main plotline was hers. This season has been more focus on Speidi ... and the viewership dropped significantly.

You should really get your facts straight before making ridiculous statements.

I would not take something that was mention in THS as gospel especially if it was said by Kristin's camp ( of course they are trying to promote her). It is untrue and I have not read it anywhere. Lauren was offered her spin-off independent of anything related to Kristin. They were both popular of LB. In fact, here is a quote from a NYtimes article about the conception of The Hills :

Like I said before, It would not suprise me if MTV also offered Kristin her own spin-off as well but its RIDICULOUS and stupid to think that it was one or the other. MTV is owned by viacom which can basically finance all shows on tv if it wants too.

For a number of reasons and Kristin Cavallari included. Lauren, Jason, Stephen, many marathons of the first season was aired allowing viewers to catch it the 2nd, 3rd time around and it was much more promoted than the first season. Also, the highest rated episode of LB was the landslide epi where Lauren caught Jason kissing with Jessica.

I would never take anything away from Kristin but Lauren and Jason were a strong plotline that pulled in many viewers.

Season 5 is extremely fake compared to the others.Brody wanted LC to no deal with Audrina. Didn't he? ANd i'm sure spencer and heidi never had a problem.

I dont see why everything has to be a competition with everyone on the hills? Lc is better then kristen, kristen is better then LC, Lo is better then LC and LC is better then Lo, Heidi is better then LC and LC is better then heidi and on and on it goes. They're not living their life competing with each other everyday so why when talking about it does it always have to end up an arguement about who is better? Cant they each be better or worse on their own?
I dont like Heidi but its not because I think LC is better but just because of heidi on her own. They're all individuals so I think the comparing needs to stop and just judge/not judge on their own

Just finished watching the last epi :

And the whole thing between Audrina and Brody needs to stop.Jayde looks like a ugly version of Megan Fox (her fake lips are absolutly disgusting).He needs to break up with her and be with Lauren.End of story.As for Heidi and Spencer,the whole therapy plot is riculous.Their psychologist looks embarrassed everytime she's on screen.It's like she knows that these too are just wasting her time and have no real interest in having a serious therapy, to work things out.

I want more Lauren please.But I know it's a lost cause.We can clearly see,that the producers want the viewers to get used to see less Lauren.Her screen time is getting less and less important this season.

I think that I won't watch season 6.Specially if Kristin is "taking over".Even if the rumors are true,about her refusing to do The Hills first,I'm sure she wishes she hasn't.That's why she accepted to do 6 episodes on next season.She's a reality TV has been who desesperatly wants her fame back.

If Kristin takes over the Hills, I will stop watching it as well. As much as I think that she is very pretty and will make the show "much more exciting and fun", she is not a nice person. She has no charisma and all about drama, back-stabbing, sleeping around, parties, and all. But I guess that's what a lot of people want to see in "an entertaining and exciting show", which makes me sad to see that successful shows nowadays have to be like this in order to attract audiences.

The Hills is the Hills today because of LC and she brings a refreshing difference to a reality TV. She is not just a pretty face. She's not just about parties and boys. She is a friend with a good heart. She's sincere and humble. She doesn't tear down every other girl in proximity.
