The Leg Thread - Toning, Firming and Questions

Just curious, does anyone know the name of any pilates instructors who models use or have previously used?

i was wondering how do models get legs that their tighs are so skinny that their knees are the biggest part of their leg?

You can put leg weights on (the ones the strap onto your ankles) and try skipping (jump rope)

I have a question. I just started to do the circuit (weight training) in my gym, mostly for the ab and back machine but they also have machines that target the hamstrings, outer and inner thighs, abductors, etc. I was wondering, from personal experience, do those machines make your legs very muscular and bulky? Because my thighs are my problem area and I'm focusing on toning and slimming them rather than making them super muscular. So any suggestions or tips? I already walk on the treadmill and do the elliptical for cardio which has already helped slim my legs, but if the machines can do that as well, I'd love to continue.

is there a way to tighten up the muscles around your knees? i'm really skinny but my knees always look kind of squishy. probably from years of basketball and injury :(

I want to build strong long legs

ok, I've been more aware that my upper body is disproportionate to my lower. I was a swimmer and I have a wide back and broad shoulders. I want to build my legs since they're super skinny but I want to keep them long looking....any suggestions for at home/diy workouts i don't have a gym membership i ride a fixed gear bicycle and my quads are fine, I'd mainly like to focus on my calves and bum...I don't want to loose any weight either since I feel like i'm already too skinny

I highly recommend yoga and pilates. This happens to me as well.

I want my legs too be a lot slimmer and have space between my thighs.
I have gained (a lot) weight the past year, but technically I'm not fat at this weight, but when I look at my legs I'm disgusted.
At the moment I have a bmi of 18.4 (155cm with 44kilo).

A year ago I had slimmer legs, but in comparison to my body also not so slim. But I was way to thin the doctors said with a bmi of 15.3 (155 cm with 36.7kilo)

I know it's probably just my build, but I want to change it. So can anyone help me get my legs slimmer withou loosing (to much) weight?

compelled to share

Ok so here's my story. Im pretty slim, not skinny just slim. never exercised and used to eat whatever i wanted, since im a mortal things happened to my body. i got cellulite, yes horrible, disgusting, dont-wanna-show-my-legs-cellulite. At this point had to do something, loving fashion as much as i do, couldt keep covering myself and at the same time talk about how much i adore different styles of clothing. First, it was food, i needded to eat healthier, not less, not vegetarian, just regular healthy food. I did it in a very slow way, trying to really star liking that food, changing the whole concept of eating. Cellulite was still there, i dont drink, i dont smoke and that stupid bastard was still living in my thighs. By this point it had been a few years so i almost lost hope of getting rid of it. Exercise was the next step. Never been a fan of gyms, cause you know, its for chubby people who tries to burn off those extra calories, wrong, its for people who likes to have a good body and thats all you see around you, great looking women and men. So, i walked, so simply just walking around a park every time i had the chance, im not going to lie and say i did it for three hours everyda, i just walked normal speed for about an hour twice a week and everyday on vacation,(im 21 by the way) and cellulite was still there, my legs were slimmer but they still had cellulite. I never tried on products cause they were always so expensive and after years of reading that you cant rid off cellulite i kind of lost the hope and didnt want to pay for something that woudnt do the difference. So less than two months ago i was reading a magazine and it showed the best products for cellulite treatment and they were so expensive but there was this tiny thing called Garnier Body Tonic, yes, the one with the roll-on. It was so cheap so i thought why dont give it a shot? if its not that expensive it wont hurt if it doesnt work. And after almost two months of using it religiously twice a day i can happily say.........that b*tch is on its way out of my body!!!
i swear by this, after just one week you can totally see the difference, i am really excited!. Well, i just wanted to share my experience, im so sure there are other women with the same problem, hope this helps a bit.

congratulations!!!

eating well + sport + treatments = success :flower:

I love Garnier products and use them as well!

I'm doing pilates since a week, and there is a tiny bit of air between my tighs now, soo fast! <3

No -ankle size is determined genetically by the length of your achilles tendon. I mean if you were seriously overweight and lost the weight you might look a little slimmer, but otherwise there's nothing you can do if you've got cankles. Just avoid shoes with ankle straps.
