The top agency in Texas is The Kim Dawson Agency in Dallas, bar none. www.kimdawsonagency.com They are a class act and take very good care of their models. My daughter Cassi, signed with them at the age of 12 and they are still her mother agency today. Although she now lives in NYC, and is with Trump Model Management, she still makes regular trips to Dallas to work Kim Dawson's clients. They not only assisted her with the Trump signing, but also helped her to get signed with Fashion Management in Milan, and Irene Marie in Miami.

Starzpeople Hong Kong

I just got accepted from Starzpeople (HongKong)! Are they any good? Do the models get lots of jobs? I'm hoping to make some good money so that I can be financially independent.

If anyone is with them, please PM me...

My daughter worked with them when she was 17, and was there for about 3 months. She shot for the Asian editions of several major magazines, but the money she made did not do more than to cover her expenses, air, apartment etc. She is still listed as a direct booking model. www.starzpeople.com Since she has had a great deal of success in other markets, she probably won't go back unless she had a guaranteed big money job. They were very nice to her, but it is difficult working in a market with such language and cultural barriers. Her name is Cassi Colvin, and can be found elsewhere on this site.

models?

hey!
model members- if you are/have been signed to either IMG, dna, or 1 model management pleeease message me! thanks. :)

oh- and i'm with kim dawson in dallas and have done a show with cassi! hah
i love kim dawson.. they have been amazing.

i went to an open call at Sutherland Models in Toronto, and they expressed interest- i had a 30 minute or so interview. i think they are respectible (they are the agency for Canada's next top model winner, etc), but they make all their new faces take an 8 week course, that costs like $800+. Any opinions as to whether Sutherland is a good agency and wont scam me?

devon_jay, dooon't do it! don't do anything that costs money... you don't need to pay for classes on how to be a model.. you'll pick things up as you go along. are there any other agencies around your area? or maybe could you send in pictures to somewhere in new york or something?

I don't know anything about Sutherland, but it what you describe sounds sketchy. Rather than force you take an 8-week course, an agency should be spending that time sending you to go-sees, introducing you to clients and getting your portfolio together. Have you contacted other agencies in Toronto to see what they have to say about you? There are several like Ford, Next, Elite, etc.

The $800+ could be for test shoots to help build up your book, but im not entirely sure. Either way, Sutherland is not a sketchy agency, they are well respected in Toronto. They probaly dont have the backing that the NY agencies due to fund new model start up costs. Sutherland also has Lisa Cant, Anna Wasacz Carter, Myo Nguyen, representing them in Toronto.

Have you tried Elmer Olsen? Theyre mother agency to Daria Werbowy and Maria Dvirnik.

yea well i know the $800 included comp cards. but there was a course the agent described and it sounded like what everyone tells you to steer clear of, so i wasnt entirely sure. this was all last summer, so i might try again going to some agencies this summer and see what happens.

Petite Modeling Agency?

Help! What are good modeling agencies that represent petites? I am interested in all, though ones in the Los Angeles area would be best. Tia!

anyone have any opinions on Vision NY? I'm going there in the summer for them...anyone know anything about their model apartments? Or model apartments in general? It would be great if you had pictures! thanks so much!

hey I know DaVE THERE. i almost signed with them but the owner is.. a little too much for me.. anyways he seems nice he is the head of the women division. i know they have a couple diff. modeling apartments. I have seen the guys one in Williamsburg and it was AWFUL.. so I hope the girls one is better for your sake.
