I live in the LA area and am interested in modeling..but more commercial as i am 14 and 5'6"..maybe i can stretch to 5'7".

i plan on sending photos to elite and ford since i know they take teens at 5'6"...what other agencies will? i am still growing and will probably have a better chance when i am older, but i want to start now and see what the agencies like.

does LA models take teens? any other good agencies? i am very new to this..thanks:D

Also, is there a certain time of the year that is better to submit to agencies than others? just a time where your chances are better and when they are not as busy etc..

LA Models definitely takes teens. Gerren Taylor was like 12 or 13 when they signed her. At 14 you still may grow also so if an agency likes your look they might take a chance on you. Are your parents tall? That may be a barometer of whether you'll still grow much.

do not go right before or during fashion week. Best times for NY are may-early august.

I have a question. I'm going to NY on a friday anybody know of any agencies that allow walkins on fridays..i know alot of them do open calls on wed and thursdays but ..what about walkins

If thats the only time you have, by all means you can try. Leave them a polaroid with no makeup on (body and face) and your contact info. If there's no one to see you, at least you will have left something. I would really call and set up an appointment if you can. Otherwise you might feel rejected when in fact they might just be too busy.

thank you woem and paulbpc....

my dad is 6'4" , but my mom is only 5'3"...but i take after my dads body shape and already am taller than my mom so im pretty sure i'll still grow a couple inches at least..hopefully!:D

whats the difference between open calls and walkins?

An open call falls between certain times on a certain day. A walk-in is when you just come in off the street at any time.

FORD is opening up an office in San Francisco.

The line for the open call stretched many many blocks outside the office. San Francisco is clearly becoming more and more of a fashion market, with the addition of Ford and 3 years of annual Fashion Week behind its belt.

This news is exciting for many girls here, but it will hurt the business of the main modeling agencies-- Look, JE, Passport, Stars etc.

Just thought I'd share the news.

Rocket Garage is a New York City based artist management company representing a select, international roster of female fashion models and rock and roll bands. It is a look based around a sound. It is about pursuing the potentiality of an ever converging media market. It's about seeking out and creating opportunities for our clients, allowing our musicians to also obtain invaluable print exposure, and our models to reflect all that is cool, hip and relevant in pop-culture today (backed up, of course, by a kick-*** soundtrack). We celebrate youth. We celebrate art. We celebrate the exposed image and the musical progression.

Merged with the Model agency thread.
I'm sure you'll have a better chance of repsonse here :flower:

Thank you. I was lost for a second and didn't know where it went..lol

Ford models have an online submission. Does anybody know if they get back to you and tell you that you are not right for this agency or will they just ignore you. I know they are very busy, but I find it very rude as they could just send an automatic message saying that I am not right for their agency.
