I am going to new york for a holiday and i was thinking of seeing some agents, i only have tests in my book and i heard no agencey will sign you unless you have editorials, is that true?

Pardon for a slightly evasive question, but I have an old friend who has a modeling profile on Wilhelmina's Men section, and one has to be a model or client to access the profiles. Would anyone mind giving me access for a short period of time? It would mean a lot, if possible!

agency? i just started sending my photos this morning to agencys in La and Ny and they were the first to reply! saying

I would like you to call me to set up an office visit. You look like you have amazing potential. and we can discuss what this industry is about and how it works.

but im not sure if this is a good agency or not! can anyone here help me with any info??

It says that models were at the Dior fashion show.
If they called you, you should go and talk to them, at least for starting, i think. It depends on yourself how good you are.

My friend Andrea is with them. They are a good agency but make sure they don't jip you when it comes to tests shoots. They tried to charge 700+ for a test shoot which is ridiculous but of course she refused and they didn't charge her. Sooo i don't really whats up with that whole aspect but just be weary when it comes to that lol. The girls that work there are a bit abrasive (at least they were towards me whenever I went to pick up my friend) but they seem to maintain a friendly relationship with their models. Anywayzzz hoped this helped at least a teeny bit

thanks so much and yea about the test shoot the wanted $1800 from me and i told them that i wont pay as i have other offers and i really cant pay that much and they were like " then you dont have to pay, we'll find away to work this out!" but thanks for the reply

Honestly DC doesn't have a single decent agency...it's not exactly a fashion hot spot. Washingtonian magazine, Washington Post, shows at the malls, not exactly great work that will pave the way for better work later or even pay you enough to live on. You're only 4 hours fr. NYC. If you're serious about becoming a model, you'd be better off making the trip there.

I have a question. I'm going to NY on a friday anybody know of any agencies that allow walkins on fridays..i know alot of them do open calls on wed and thursdays but ..what about walkins

Imagine a world where one of the ways the modeling agencies compete with each other is by putting out high quality photos of their models. I encourage you, as a model, to only patronize the ones who make an effort. Check Mega's site and see if you think they care.

I know A decent agency in MD though ( maryland) this model at ford dad just bought half of it and they at turning it around.. like if you look at the stie right now it looks cheesy.. but he just bought it this month and they have already got great new girls that they have signed to agencies around the world.. I just know of "The Agency Arizona"

But, I have a friend down there that says they tend to focus more on their girls who've gotten lots of work rather than the newbies
