Hmm I think he's been bang on with the rankings of agencies. Each client varies and has different needs just like models. With that in mind, EVERY model and client needs to think about which agency best suits their needs all around. Which agency can balance the low paying/high profile editorial with the campaign, and gently guide a model high on cool factor into the very lucrative but lower visability campaigns. Is the agency that can do that at this moment ford? No. And that's all that rocksalittle has said. No need to get upset naiad!

On the other hand, I think that the range of catalogue that they do can certainly sustain them. With Kids, Teens, Plus, Classic, Artists women, and men the accounting dep't is no doubt rolling. Will they be the first to come to mind when casting for the next it girl? PRobably not. I'm sure they have isolated the problem, and are working to fix it.

^Actually I like Ford... Ileene is brilliant, I have friends with the agency and the bookers are cool to me. I'm doing my best to stay objective WITHOUT bashing... It is a current reality with out a finite definition. Some times things just don't go your way. The wind blows in different directions.

I'm just tryin to keep it real :glare:

Good lookin Tristan

Sorry, I was in a bad mood and got carried away. Apologies.

Speaking of Ford , it is the pioneer of modeling industry, per se. Back then, there were only 3 top tier power models inc= Ford- the top most powerful beauty agency for 3 decades, Elite w/ Casablancas and Wilhelmina. They bring in the power girls. They were the 'old school'. They bring in the traditional beauties. However, they still do. While you have IMG, Woman, Next etc... bringing in unconventional beauties where top designers find most appealing and different artistically.

I remember those dayz... They are long gone... IMG will "never" fall because their not based in fashion. All others that are based soley in fashion are subject to global economic conditions and the integrity of the luxury market so they better have a hard *** board. There is little room at the top of a pinpoint and how you compete for that spot in New York determins if your here or not. Change with the times or get left in the past. The digital revoulition is making the planet smaller and smaller... How R U in?

'tis why modelling agencies are going into the celebrity game too.

True. IMG was purely a media corp then branched out into modeling. They got the cash and certainly attract the top girls. and those girls told others and so on and so forth.... :innocent:

Before anyone counts Ford out, it's good to keep in mind that this is not the first time they've had problems with top girls leaving. In the mid-90s, girls like Turlington, McPherson, Vendela Kirsebom and Elaine Irwin all left. Some went back, others didn't. Things looked very bad for the agency, but they rebuilt their boards and got girls like Elson, O'Connor and Rizer. Then those girls left en masse. Lo and behold they're still around. Yes, they have had a rash of defections but they have a very strong scouting network and deep pockets. And if you don't think an agency can survive solely as a catalogue agency, Wilhelmina rakes in the money without a single girl whose in demand with hi-fashion. Sure, Ford is not at the top of their game right now in hi fashion, but they've been around as long as they have for a reason.

There's a new agency called Rocket Garage in NY. Anyone know the story? Clientele, buzz, editorial presence, backers, clout, booking table??? What are the brand spanking new agencies that people are talking about? It's about this time of year that they sprout up and hustle hard.

Does anyone know how Marylin Agency is? I just sent out photos to them, I'm new to this. I've been told by a lot of people that I should do this, so I decided to send my pictures via online form (for marylin). How does this method work though?
