The New Gothic / Neogoth

I love the first, second and fifith looks on post 982 and the last one on 984!Gorgeous!!

Seems like autumn inspires magazines to start showing this look again. I love dressing for the fall.

I love Neogoth, I actually wish it would hit the high street more, I can't afford anything halfway decent.

Plus I've always had a very strange desire to dye my hair bleach blonde and wear ridiculously elaborate 'neogoth' dresses and coats.

Yes, I'm so glad I found this thread. Fall is my fave season, fashion wise, because of the darker color palette and textures. The shades of gray and black are great, as are the boots often associated with them. I always feel like a semi-cool, semi-nerdy vampire when I see fall clothes. I've been trying to darken up my clothing style lately. I hate it when people say black is boring-I'm just not into bright colors!

^ Black looks are drab when texture and variation are nowhere to be found. A mixture of maybe - lace, quality silk, suede, cashmere and a bit of leather is def. interesting. A little volume is lovely, too.

In  with this trend ... especially after recently getting into Evan Rachel Wood and her boyfriend Marilyn Manson's culture and music, and after reading Twilight, which was about vampires ... loving the dark, enigmatic opulence of this trend.

^ Evan Rachel Wood's 'look' seems quite Lolita, imo. Though from the recent interviews I've read, her new look seems to be soaked in pretense.

:innocent:

I love this thread, so a picture post is in order, naturally... :woot:

Gorgeous pictures, wheneveriwakeup! I would rep you, but it says I need to spread some karma around first. :(

Lace is a must-I love it. I love the silky black that looks smooth from far away.

It's a little contrived; do we need a Dita post to set this thread right?

No, Dita's not goth, but there are definitely some crossover points: flawless makeup, fetishism, period references, dramatic and romantic taste in clothing...

Dita's look is so punctual. I salute her as applying a 'theme' into one's personal style is a feat in itself, rly.

Thanks, Jennifer!

Thanks, Glittery_Bug. I'm glad you all enjoy feasting on these delectable photos.

Off to find more...! :ninja:

I love this. I think that the 'Goth' spread from the Fashion Rocks supplement was gorgeous and a good example of this.
