And Dan is so short compared to the others

I know someone who looked just like Harry in the first few movies. Now he is 6'4" and Dan looks so young. But that's what they need when it takes so many years to finish the series. Really so many actors are so short!

So excited for the movie!

I went to the screening for The Half-Blood Prince last night and I LOVED it! It's probably the best HP movie that's been released to date. I heard that IMAX will be showing a 3D version of the movie, but that won't premiere for another 2 weeks. I just may go watch it again.

I'm worried about getting there early enough...I feel like a lot of fans have been lined up for hours already. But I'm so excited! (Even though I feel like I've seen half of it online already.)

:clap:Just watched the IMAX 3D version of HBP last night! It was freaking awesome , way better than ootp. Absolutely love the cave scene!!!!:buzz:

Although the 3d part only 20 minutes or so (at the begining of the film).

Coming to you live from the theatre waiting for it to start! I still have an hour wait but I wanted to sit somewhere without the screen I'm my face lol.

Just saw it *sighs*

I didn't like it.

This film just proves what a bad actor Michael C. is. I absolutely hate him as Dumbledore now more then ever. RIP Richard Harris..for you will always be Dumbledore in my eyes

(my opinions don't kill me)

They focused so much on the humorous parts(amazing parts btw..bloody brilliant) and left out all the emotion on the sad ones.

I laughed a lot but overall the emotion was missing from key parts. (can't name them because I don't wanna spoil it for you guys =) )

I really hope they do better with the final movie *sighs*

^I do agree they left a lot out, considering how emotional the books are, for me they kind of missed that emotional reaction - except at the end where I cried (I got some really funny looks from people)! I really hope to capture that better in the 7th films, as I think part of the reason the 7th book particularly works because of the emotions they create. They also added in some bits which added nothing to the film, really annoys me when they do that as then they say they don't have time to put in key scenes - well don't add stuff in then!! Also, did anyone else feel the Ginny/Harry relationship was very 'forced' and that there was no real chemistry?

However, overall it was a good film considering the expectations they have to live up to and how hard the books are to relay on film. I think the acting was pretty good, there are still some slightly cringey moments in terms of the teen acting, but thats to be expected.

yeah, i agree chanelnumber5 their chemistry was entirely forced. and a bit dull.

i never really took to lavender in the book but that actress was such a scene stealer.
and horace slughorn just stole my heart along with romilda vane who beat hermione for best hair in this one:

oh, and the quidditch looked absolutely spectacular!

the only downside to the movie is that like after reading the books i get that sad reminder that none of it's really real...

-sigh- why can't an owl deliver my mail?

^ In the shoe lace/mince pie scene I actually felt embarassed for them. Also, I thought they were meant to get together earlier on and 'oficially' date than they did in the film, and then at the end of the book they were meant to get break up so IDK why there were still together?

I also thought that Lavender was really well played!

For those in the UK, Edith Bowman has being doing a special report from the set of HP7 on Radio 1. Its nearly over but it should be back on their website the re-listed to

Btw, what are we meant to be whiting out? I've whited out anything that can be vaguely seen as a spoiler, but haven't most people read the books, so know whats going to happen?

^Well there are quite a number of new scenes in the movie, so I think white-out is in order...

I also watched the 3D version yesterday (12 hours ago)! The geek in me wants to go on a rant about how awful and not-true-to-book this movie is, but I will just say that overall it is an enjoyable movie, even though it lacks coherence (I felt like I was watching a bunch of clips rather than a story).

On the other hand, the fashion-conscious part of me spotted some costumes that reminded me of Dior Haute Couture, Viktor & Rolf and perhaps Gareth Pugh.
