^I don't know how to feel about this yet. Any change from the book, and I'm quick to panic. But I trust the filmmakers and I like that I don't really know what to expect.

The most important part of that article is: "We asked J.K. if she agreed for that to happen in there, because we hadn't really seen it before. We made a crystal house, and you can see what happens in the boat house from there - Are you listening Harry? -, but also the school is in flames...and she loved it."

As long as she loves it...I will love it.

I can't wait for this movie!!!!!!

Also, Here's some technical info on how the Tale of the Three Brothers sequence was created:

One of the distinctive elements to come out of the design phase was a papery, grainy background which bound the images together well and added to the overall ethereal feel. This had to be translated into something that would work with moving cameras and not be 'pasted over the top' in comp.

Character, prop and set assets were look developed in the standard way for commercial production, with a small team of texture and Zbrush artists working up the detail - renders were generated to produce a typical array of passes for comping in Nuke: RGB Light and shadow; depth; incidence; to name just a few.

"The sequence was a compositors dream job," says Russell Dodgson, "technical, challenging and with an ever-evolving creative process that required a lot of 'out of the box' thinking."

Due to the relatively long shot durations, cloth simulation on death's cloak and the bride's dress proved challenging. The brief in the case of Death was to create an ethereal otherworldly movement that felt natural in this stylised world. The team decided that the wizard characters' cloth would have a stiff puppet look to further distinguish them from Death.

Martin Aufinger used Houdini for the magical bridge forming sequence. In order to further the gritty, hand made look; the team experimented with lowering the frames rate on elements in shots.

Ben Hibbon, director of the animation, explaining how he came to work with Stuart Craig and David Yates: "I had preliminary meetings with David [Yates]and Stuart Craig, the production designer. I dug up a couple of images and one of the early references that we responded to was from Lotte Reiniger for her scissor cut out, silhouette style of animation. And there was something naïve and very graphical that David responded to. So I came away with that and was already fascinated with Asian shadow plays and puppetry -- very crudely articulated puppets on sticks.

I thought that merging the two things would look wonderful. But there was always something that bugged me a little bit about all of these references. They were heavily 2D in their craft and I was very aware of breaking the flow of the movie, and so it was very important that we keep the language of cameras and not lose the motion of the cinematic experience as a Potter movie. I tried to devise a way to think of that visual style but in 3D.

So we worked on some concepts and once the look was locked, Framestore came on board to produce the piece and we refined the look with their illustrators and made it work with the tools we needed to use because obviously the floating camera through layers of paper and transposing shadows and having 360-degree cameras became quite a challenge.

are those the ones from the shoot for the holidays of the first shoot of them cus they changed Harry to much younger version than he is in these pics (i think it was done upon the "upheaval" when the pics leaked the first time - Hermiona ones) in the vids i saw during the xmas break? they're supposed to have close to 30ies not 50ies.

no, i know what part of the movie it is, i was just asking when those pics were taken cus they reshot the whole sequence for xmas break with all of them looking much younger than the first time (these pics).

Alvie - so it's from the first time they shot it? the last pics actually vids i saw has Harry with his hair sleaked back and with a bit of goatee or something, it was very blurry, but clearly different than these.

any of those new pics available?

In the first image, the pair appear to be studying the shard of broken mirror that magically appears to help Harry escape from Malfoy Manor.

The mirror was originally presented to Harry by Sirius in Order of the Pheonix.

The still, obtained by Cinemablend, shows a bloodied Neville Longbottom (played by Matthew Lewis) presumably during the epic final battle during which Hogwarts comes of pretty badly.

In the background, the blurred figure of Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter) looks on.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, the final instalment in the epic franchise, is released on July 15.

oh shis, want to edit my post but it's already 10 minutes, btw dajrekshn about #633 is actually the first shot, not the new one!

and i just got some spoiler for the last re-shot..

The actors got back together to put on new old age makeup for the scene where the now-grown Hogwarts students go see their own children off to their first year at school. They shot this bit a year ago, but apparently the old age makeup wasn’t up to snuff. They may have also replaced the young actors playing the children of Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco, although I can’t quite tell.

Nope. You're not the only one.

I hope they changed the makeup when they did the re-shoots, because I think they made the trio look too old.
They're only 37-ish in the epilogue, but they made them look 50.

However, I liked the actors they used for the kids. So hopefully, they didn't change them.

^^(can't remember if i'm 100% right with this) but none of the kids cast the killing curse, or do they? it's like rowling didn't want them to become killers, even of their enemies, so i like that it wasn't Neville, he showed he's a bad*ss by beheading Nangini

you're right! that explains why she dropped molly before bellatrix so the girls don't do it either.

i have this theory on why snape and others never could've gone to the dark side completely - if one experiences true and pure love, even once (which voldemort didn't) it's impossible to be utterly evil, and if each killing means one splitting of soul it would make it even harder for one to experience love in its true meaning. also, you know about that quote (disregard the author of it for one sec killing one person means murder, killing million is just a pure statistic? well it's good metaphore for what voldemort did, after he killed first 7, it all just became a matter of pure evil and disregard leaving him with absolutely nothing, no? sorry for blabbering but i've been thinking about it for a whole month now. i know it doesn't make much sense

also, may i just say how i felt underwhelmed how Hermione "only" got upped in Ministry? i always thought she's be a professor in Hogwarts.

also, will someone explain to me how a muggle-born witches and wizards find out about Hogwarts?

maybe like harry did? through a mysterious letter? in harry's case hagrid appeared then to explain, wonder how it is for others... i mean wouldn't most parents think the letter is some kind of joke and not let their kids go to a boarding in order to learn magic?

^^ daj, when they come of a certain age (11 I believe), their powers really start to develop and wizards/Hogwarts can detect that. So someone from the school visits them and explains the whole thing to the parents. As what happened in Lily's case.

JK Rowling actually answered that question awhile back...muggle-borns get a letter, but the ministry also sends someone to their house to explain it to them to help lessen the inevitable freak out.

I'm actually glad Neville didn't finish off Bellatrix. To be honest, I don't think he would have been able to. Molly Weasley did the job, because she's a skilled witch and she also caught Bellatrix off guard. Neville still gets his moment to shine though courtesy of Nagini.

About Hermione working for the ministry, I actually liked that. She started out working with the Department of Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, so that allowed her to actually apply what she was attempting to do with S.P.E.W. And from there she worked her way to the top and basically eradicated all the anti-muggleborn legislation. So, I'm really happy with that outcome, as opposed to Hermione just teaching Transfiguration or something. Plus, I like the idea of Harry, Ron, and Hermione all working in the ministry. I also thought it was clever on JKR's part to have Neville become the professor, since he was one who was always described as a bad student.

JKR should totally write another book about that experience and I also really want to know what happened during that 19 years before the epilogue.
