The Official Harry Potter Thread

I've heard that kids signed up multiple times, but my friends' "spare" accounts have all been used up!

I have an account but find Pottermore absolutely boring so I might give it away...

i havent logged on in a while, after the sorting part i kind of lost interest too. the new content is j.k. explaining things in the story and i thought it was actually new chapters that were edited out

 i haven't tried any spells or potions yet, but i think i'll fail horribly and lose the Ravenclaw house 100s of points

My name is Phoenix Thestral58...I added both of you! ^_^

The Potions are very hard...I manage to brew only one after 7 tries :S

I feel embarrassed to admit that I've had my invitation since Monday, but I haven't signed in yet and gotten sorted.

I've been too busy with stupid school, but hopefully I will get to it this weekend.

I'm a terrible Potter fan. :(

tbh, there isn't as much action as I had expected...I also thought that we would be able to read the whole books but we can only read some really little parts and the additional information about some characters, places, things etc...

I'm a Slytherin! I'm so happy right now! Just thought I'd drop by and announce that.

thanks! :flower:

and how is everyone liking it so far? is it as good as everyone anticipated?

after you get sorted you kind of lose interest, well thats how i feel about it. there isn't much to do, i havent logged on in a while but for me, finding the hidden objects is the best part

From bluray.com

With the good news that Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and the franchise set will be available for the entire holiday shopping season comes one unexpected drawback: Warner Bros. will put a moratorium on all DVDs and Blu-rays of the eight Potter films beginning December 29th. The studio announced that new shipments will cease on this date and the films will remain vaulted for an undisclosed amount of time. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how long Warner Bros. will stick to this commitment (especially since Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2 will soon be due for Ultimate Edition treatment).

Why the ‘Disney Vault’ and now the ‘Potter Vault’ are cruel

“… before it goes back into the Disney vault.”

As kids we heard those threatening words at the end of commercials for the latest and greatest Disney movie hitting VHS or DVD. It created a sense of urgency and, in Disney words, helped them control the market.

Today we’re learning that WB is going to set up a Harry Potter vault, and I think it’s a very bad idea.

According to the studio, production of Potter DVDs will cease on December 29th. That’s four days after Christmas and less than two months after Deathly Hallows – Part 2 goes on sale. What this means is that several weeks later, availability of new copies will become small and you’ll have to resort to eBay and other online retailers who are selling used, old copies.

Warner Brothers is making a big mistake. They’re forgetting that aspects of the franchise like Pottermore, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Studio Tour, and sheer word-of-mouth will keep new generations looking for copies of the films every day.

Then there will come a time when they “reopen the vault” and publish the DVDs with new covers and probably new features. That’s when longterm Potter fans will be upset because they’ll know they’re missing out on special features.

While I understand WB’s desire to hype up re-releases, I think it’s cruel to rob potential new fans of availability for the sake of promoting new editions of the films that they’ll probably call “deluxe,” “crystal,” “diamond,” or any other exciting-sounding adjective.

Let’s keep the great films on shelves where they belong and pump up advertising campaigns when new editions are ready.
