Both the "Women of Harry Potter" and "When Harry Left Hogwarts" look really interesting. Especially excited to see what they have to say about the women in Harry Potter because I think there were so many great female characters (and actresses who got to play them) which unfortunately is not seen enough in books or films. But in HP J.K. Rowling and those who made the films made sure to portray the female characters with depth and didn't reduce them to stereotypes.

The "When Harry Left Hogwarts" documentary is definitely going to make me cry. I got teary-eyed just watching the trailer.

I thought this was humorous:

Spotted: ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron at ‘The Wizarding World’ theme park – seeking tips?

When Avatar creator James Cameron and Walt Disney World announced that they were to begin work on an Avatar-themed land at Animal Kingdom, spectators immediately thought this may be Disney’s answer to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.

Fueling those rumors, today Cameron himself was spotted at The Wizarding World.

The visit by Cameron was likely to see how Warner Brothers and Universal turned the Potter films into a physical park.

See the photos below thanks to the Orlando Sentinel.

Universal sometimes will announce when celebrities visit the park, but so far Cameron’s visit has not been made known to the media.

^Same day as the DVD. I think it's only available if you buy the special Target edition.
But I'm pretty sure the documentary will end up online soon after the DVD is released.

New BTS video of them filming a scene with Tom Felton and Louis Cordice in the Room of Requirement

I'm in such a strange place right. I started reading the HP books around book 3, about a year before the movies were announced. (There was an article in Time magazine about how it was being banned: cue me reading HP.) I've kept up with the books and movies since then.

But I've never been hardcore-midnight-showing, must have 1st Edition fan. But I'm becoming so. I own 3 HP books (the last 3, US 1st Editions). (I've decided to get the Bloomsbury books so I can have them in JKR's original English. Hence, not collecting all 7 US versions.).

Back in July, I was in the middle of a 14 day stretch of double shifts and no days off. So not only did I miss the Grand Pottermore Opening but also the film premiere. I did see the last movie about 2 weeks later (cue tears at seeing the WB logo, flailing over Neville, flailing over Ron and Hermione kissing, flailing over the epilogue...tears at end).

Now, that work has cooled down and I'm on tumblr, I'm finding my HP obsession getting nutty. Like I need to about the whole cast and find all their other movies to watch. I need to rewatch the movies. I need to re-experience HP.

I've always been a fangirl (a reserved one, but still one) but I've never gotten hardcore about something post-it's ending. I usually move on but revisit it from time to time. (Although I suppose it helps that the kids are adults now.) (HP wasn't a part of my childhood. It was part of my "transitioning to adulthood years": high school, college, post-college years: I'm 28.) But it's something I don't want to let go of.

And Pottermore needs to open up to general public already!!

New documentary about Quidditch. :D

My University just got a team. My last University had one as well, but I graduated the year it started. I was considering trying out, but I think I'm too chicken. lol.

'Deathly Hallows - Part 2' picks up Hollywood Movie of the Year Award

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 was honored with the Hollywood Movie of the Year Award at last night's 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala.

The final Potter film was chosen by the public voting online at the Yahoo! Movies website.

"Picking up the award on behalf of the crew was Tom Felton who played one of the villains in the movie. Thanking the fans, the organization and everyone involved in the film, once again the star reminded everyone just how humble they were for the opportunity to be part of a major movie franchise."

Hopefully, this is just one of many awards for the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 film and series as a whole.
