The Official Harry Potter Thread

Thanks for the Scabior gif! Tumblr is all over him and I found this to show that we are not the only ones talking about him.. :p

During the HHR kiss, my theatre was like woah!, go Harry!, :D

I'm so glad nobody shouted, whistled, hooted...etc. during that kissing scene. I really want to watch it again.

I'm such a geek omg I watched it again. It's even better the second time around.

The only part that I really hate is the Horcrux kiss. I mean, I get it that they have to kiss, but do they have to be naked? It's like seeing Adam and Eve.

^ I think it does help for Harry and Hermione to appear naked in the kissing scene, its suppose to be Ron's worst nightmare- why not make it slightly worse- to make the viewer (and Ron) think that its a lot more then just kissing.

One of my favorite scenes was the story of the three brothers- the way it was done was so enchanting- it really could have been its own little short film, honestly! It makes me wonder if they will do short films of all the stories in Beatle and the Bard, if it was anything like that I would pay to see such a film! Its scenes like that which make me ask- why hasn't Harry Potter won a ton of awards? Simply phenomenal!

In the book, it's never said what the horcruxes are wearing, so it makes sense for them to be naked.

And like YoninahAliza, it's Ron's worst nightmare.

I would love it if they adapted The Tales of Beedle the Bard into animated short stories.
I would definitely pay to see it, especially if the animation is as beautiful as the Three Brothers sequence.

The HP series has won quite a few awards, but no Oscar yet.
They've been nominated for about 10 Oscars so far...I think HBP would have won last year, but it was lucky enough to go up against Avatar. :p

If it gets another Cinematography and Visual effects nomination this year (which it should) then I think it could win.
There hasn't been any film to really compete with it this year, except Inception or maybe Alice in Wonderland.

^Ohhhh.... that will be a hard choice to root for- Inception or Harry Potter- both were cinematically stunning with great acting as well. However, I think Potter will always have my heart- they have to win at least one Oscar- it would be a shame if they didn't.

^shame they didn't incorporate Krum at the wedding. I wanted to see Ron get angry lol

^I don't know but I hope so! Viktor is looking hot and their dance looks lovely.. If there was a book couple I ship, it would have been Hermione/Viktor.. :D And agree on Harry Hermione dance being lovely :D

Why did they cut out/reduce scenes for 2 of the hottest guys from DH1? Scabior's scenes were reduced cause they were too intense and now, Viktor.. ;):p

He's a snatcher who is out there searching for 'mudbloods' who are on the run. He wasnt in the book but is a nice addition to the movie ^_^

^he is in the book, it's just that Greyback is the leader of their group not him

oooh right.^ it's just that in the Finnish version they translate the names so that's why I didnt spot the name Scabior there.

Sooooooo... I had decided not to visit this thread until I saw the movie because I knew it'd overflow with opinions and I didn't want to know what you guys thought of it, in case your commentaries had me daydreaming and being let down in the end from too daydreaming ^_^ I went to the premiere yesterday evening and I was completely, tremendously overwhelmed  Everything was sheer epicness. My favorite scenes were that at Godric's Hollow - the whole scenery was beautifully whimsical and the moment when Harry and Hermione discover The Potter's grave tore me up, I bow down to Dan's acting here - and the Tales of Beedle the Bard animation, (thanks a lot for posting it) - impeccably executed and I loved how it added an otherworldly aura to the basically pitiful sequence. I was also floored by the scene where Harry, Hermione and Ron set off on foot because Ron got splinched and can't (dis)apparate. They walk across different landscapes and you can only hear the radio that Ron listens to to make sure family members of his haven't been killed. The atmosphere sent shivers down my spine, I found it super intense. The unbearable lack of Draco Malfoy is the only thing that was left to be desired, I'm going through deprivement right now.! I remember him not being ubiquitous at all in the book but I was inwardly hoping he'd somehow get sneaked in the movie more often. Anyway, there's no denying the movie lived up to my expectations! I'm seeing it again on Saturday, I cannot wait

I really wanted to see Viktor Krum again... shame he isn't in the last film- lets hope they bring him back for the last battle (the same with Oliver Wood!).

:lol::lol:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Deleted Scenes

David Yates spoke to MTV about a deleted scene shot for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 involving an intimate and tender moment between Ron and Hermione while the trio were on the run, which, thankfully, will make the DVD extras, out next year.

"There are a couple of things that we've lost that just didn't quite survive," he said. "I did this wonderful scene between Hermione and Ron. I wanted to explore their relationship a little bit more, so when Ron leaves it really breaks your heart.

‪"There was a scene we shot up in Scotland; it's a scene where Ron is showing Hermione how to throw a stone on a lake, how to spin a stone on the lake, and Hermione is being really girly about it. She's got a really rubbish throw, and she has to insist that Ron show her how to spin the stone to sort of entice tactility and physical contact, and it's a really funny, tender and moving scene," Yates described. "They're both very funny in it, but it ended up on the DVD because the overall tone of our film, as you know, is quite intense."

‪"The DVD extras, I would guess there is about 10 or 12 or 15 extra minutes," Yates revealed.

----

I hope they do "directors" cuts of all the movies one day. This is why I haven't got any of the movies on DVD cause I'm waiting till the end.
