The What to Wear Where? Thread

I'm going to South France in May, and I've got a ticket to the Monaco grand prix.....I've never been to a car race in my life. From what I've seen of racing over here (USA) people just wear "whatever". But this isn't just any race....it's in Monaco, so I wanna look appropriate. My hotel room is going to be in Nice, so whatever I wear to the race, I will also have to wear it all day, and all night....I probably won't go back to the room to change, although I wish I could. I could use all the advice I could get.

Also, what time do the night clubs in Monaco close??? Maybe I will have time to go back and change clothes after the race. :stuart:

I was thinking of wearing this....but I don't know. I wanna wear something pretty, but a little more active.

thats pretty but way too overdressed for monaco.
people get the wrong image of monaco. the more you are dressed, the more people will know you are NOT from here

or if you really wanna wear this dress. take a pair of jeans with you and def. dont wear heels with them.
just some fancy flip flops

Thanks Leyla. My friend was telling me to "break out the Versace dress". But I went to the ACM website, and saw some pics of last years race, and everyone was dressed "normal". That dress I posted would be totally uncomfortable seating on some bleachers!
But what about the casino, do you have to be dressed up to go inside??

during the grand prix, everyone is relaxed in a smart kinda way...
so even the hotel de paris can be accessed with some jeans

That might actually be pretty and fairly wearable minus the tattoed body stocking. :flower:

The bodystocking is attached to the dress acctualy but you can take it off if you like

and as i mentioned before monaco is simple, simple, simple  .. and DIOR is (un)fortunately only worn by 1 type of girl... :ninja:

KJ, do you know where you'll be sitting?? and what your day will be like? i might tell you more in detail whats appropriate  :flower:

but dior is so much fun  :P the last time I went to monaco I just wore jeans and tees, I agree with leyla m. - everyone dresses really laid back there

LOL....and I thought my idea was bad.

Chanel, sweety, I know you meant well, but that would be the worst idea possible. :flower:

I am definitely gonna go with smart-laid back. At least for the day of the race, I will leave the 4" heels at home. It's really important to me what I wear, especially since my room is over in Nice. I want to reflect my personal style of course, but I've gotta do it in a casual-laid back way. You can tell "casual-laid back" is not usually my thing, lol.

Sorry  Maybe this? Prada SS 2004

My boyfriends company bought tickets to a pro basketball team's game tonight. Everyone will be in work clothes (they'll probably come straight from work), but I want to look cute. What would you wear? (and please don't say jeans and sneakers... bleh! boring!)

I have a similar dilemna.. our grade's school field trip is a baseball game. :yuk: It's going to be hard to find something hip and comfy.. :(

A t-shirt that says "Kobe is innocent!"

I would wear something fun and flirty...yet, something sporty. I would try a velour set, but in order to escape that whole "just worked out" look, where a low-cut camisol and maybe some hoops.

If velour doesn't trip your trig, I would give maybe a cute tennis skirt a shot with some flip-flops or old school sneaks, depending on the weather where you are.
